NEW Drawing Comp 3

[Esperante]

Congrats to VIPFreak for his fantastic fishmobile!

To keep things structured, this comp will end on Sunday the 26 of November.

To honour Renault announcing a new, front mounted F1 inspired, Nissan V6 Alpine sports car, this week's theme will be to design this new car. It should pay some homage to Alpines of the past, but let's keep this from being retro, shall we?

No problemo. I'll enter something for sure. I love Renault's design style, very progressive and modern, this should be a lot of fun. I'll post when I get a chance (next week sometime).

A FR, F1 inspired sportscar from Renault.

Alpine has been part of Renault's sportiness in the past, maybe you could find some inspiration from those models, but try to keep off the retro feel, the French don't do that.

So... just look at Renault Design and do stuff their style? Sorry, I'm slow right now.

I should've included this much-Renault is introducing this new car under the Alpine name and using a Nissan V6.

This is pretty cool... I might head for this but a hard top.

Well... I hope this Renault enough. It's a targa and it has elements from the pics in the first post.

Nice job. I'd say make it a little more modern, somehow. Also tilt your ellipses more inwards. Now it looks like the car is being pulled back, it'll look a lot more agressive with the ellipses at the proper angles.

Yeah I kinda felt it wasn't that modern... and yeah... I started to notice that about the wheels, I think I'm getting the hang of it. I have a format going and once I'm comfortable I'll start doing the inside of the rims. Thanks

Looks very nice. The lines are crisp and defined well. I've got an entry that has yet to be scanned/photoed, I'm going more for the A110 look.
Remember-due date is tomorrow!

Here she be-
Since the new car is going to be 350Z based, I did it on that scale and kind of worked around that size and proportion.
The headlamps are inspired by the A110, the bonnet by the A210, and the window lines from the A310/A610. Not quite sure what I want to do with the back, yet.
I tried to follow with Renault's legendary well crafted design house, and I think I pulled it off nicely. Just imagine it in Alpine Blue.

Alright here's my entry. Sorry for its late arrival.

I kept with the 350 underpinnings and also agreed with Renault's current design theming. I think there's enough brand identity in the design for it not to be mistaken for anything else. I am not at all familiar with Alpine's cars, or Renault's history, so I didn't include anything from any previous models. a bit of a cartoony sketch with a ballpoint on sketch paper:
