New Gran Turismo Partnership to be Revealed at New York Event

The W Series is billed with DTM. DTM are soon to run in a combined race with SUPER GT. maybe DTM will finally allow their cars in a console game.

Edit: The RaceRoom Esports WTCR series just popped up in my notifications.

I don't see this as locking out any other developer from using TCR cars. PD could still partner up with TCR Japan.

I can't guess but seeing so many people saying chevy got me thinking isen't it strange how chevy went with C7's promotiom?
Wanna have an ugly covered version of the car? Ok
The final prototype? Yes
The production base model and as the cover car of your next game? Hell Yea!
ZO6 ? Nah
ZR1? Ain't Happening
C7.R? 🤬 NO!
what do you mean by full?.
Sorry, mistype. I meant Super GT "full line up". All Super GT cars not only 3 as we've got in GT Sport.

I hope you're right. The DTM cars were awesome at Brands Hatch last weekend. THINK I'M STILL DEAF...! Expect the Aston Martin to come last though... :sly:

I've cracked it!* The press conference is scheduled for the final weekend before the WEC returns. The WEC is an FIA championship. There is nothing else it can possibly be. You can congratulate me on my genius after the announcement.

* 99.99% sure I've not cracked it. Ah man, I really want new endurance sportscars.

We have the Red Bull Junior, which is pretty close to an F3. More importantly, Indy, DTM, Formula E, NASCAR, would all be more interesting choices imo

Technically the Red Bull car is not an open wheel car. And it’s not real, which is an important thing for some.

No matter what you add to the game, there will always be a more interesting choice. I can’t see how F3 would be a particularly bad update.

Not bad, just redundant. PD has been pretty good with adding unique and interesting cars/classes to the game, and while F3 isn’t a terrible choice, I just think it’s a pretty mediocre one. My point with the Red Bull was that it fits the same mold as an F3 car; it’s a low horsepower, extremely chuckable and easy to drive racecar with gobs upon gobs of grip. And to wrap this whole thing up for me, I just don’t see PD partnering with the W Series. There are just way to many logistical issues imo (see my other posts on this thread for details).

Rumour has it that the new Partnership will either be with Donald Trump or Kim Jong Un.

Well that would be great, there are several vehicles in WEC that we desperately need...

Didn't know New York became Detroit.
In a PR flashy type move to seem more upscale, Cadillac moved its HQ to NY.

With a vibe resembling kerplunk more than splash, I believe their location has reverted to Detroit. I seem to remember an exec formerly with another company (Audi, Nissan?) being involved.

That is my guess, too. I think they team up with Donald Trump. The deal is, while PD heavyheartedly agrees on exclusively featuring US cars and tracks, Trump promises to lock out Italy, France, Spain, Russia, Brasil and mainly Germany and Mexico from the internet to make the race experience great again.
The biggest benefit imho is, we'd finally get rid of these 'I want Spa' posts and that ridiculous Sambabus 👍 !

I hope we get a racetrack based inside the trump tower

Hmm, were the previous live events open to the public as well, or...?

'Cause this one is taking place at the PS Theatre which seems to be mostly used for music concerts, and so, being the guy who would love another Daiki Kasho concert, that got me a little suspicious...

My kids have gone to concerts at the PS Theater, so I can confirm that it's not like a typical exhibition center in NYC like the Javitt Center. Not sure if that means it isn't open to the public, but from what I have been told (there could be other parts of the theater they haven't been in) it's pretty much a concert venue.

Yeah, it looks pretty big for a normal World Tour event from what I've seen.

Jordan confirmed in the other thread that Daiki won't be there, btw. So unless something changes in the schedule between now and then...

I wish they would announce that Pikes Peak is finally coming to the game through the partnership they have.. but we can dream right.

I wouldn't expect that track to run at a stable 60fps on PS4. Definitely better to save Pikes Peak for next-gen, especially with high quality photogrammetry modeling.

Not sure anyone has mentioned WRC?
The license for the official WRC game has expired with WRC 8 (based on this season), and there is a small rally section to GT Sport.
WRC would be a cool partner and would open an entirely new game essentially.
It would be nice to see genuine WRCs in a GT game again.

Well, while I got a notification on YT about iRacing getting the Audi RS3 LMS TCR, same time, GTP posts news about it. Also includes the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge Series. Hope that's not exclusive to iRacing. Whether it be all things IMSA or individual series.

Should also include the annual Dakar Rally, too. There's really not much both of these in GT Sport.

Isn't Alonso joining Toyota, in a Tundra, at Dakar?

Edit: Gazoo Racing Toyota HiLux
They're the winners/finalists of the 2019 Dakar Rally, which is also the first for Toyota and their venerable pickup truck.
