Using the sticks, leaves you without the ability to Trail Brake, which when using the wheel(DFP) in prologue, was very helpfull in keeping the car stable & under control, under braking in some turns.

So would think you might well be better off using the Buttons instead of the stick.

I took a look at those screenshots, but didn't see anything new. Perhaps I've just seen a few more screenshots than most, but they have all been available for several months now.
