Uhm, they might? Kaz said they'd hang on to the archive. So we might see them again some day. Some of them. In fully "super-premium" quality.
Yes but what that does not say and has never said "We will put standards in the game" People just took it to mean that...

@Tired Tyres I didn't say they would, I said if they add a few, they would be remade in what translator-san called "super-premium" quality.

There is no reason to throw standards away as long as they hold rights on them. I wonder how long does the contracts last, were they formed on annual basis or not.

You could always reduce resolution to PS2 standard and improve the graphics within that limit as much as possible. :D

Please no... That would be a fun result. GT3 was a beast!

Anyway, new HUD is welcome. I prefer the GT Sport cluster (speedometer, map, tachometer) over any other game's HUD.

I often wonder what that would look like, the great irony would be the game would be a technical beast, but the resolution would be so incredibly low you'd never be able to actually appreciate it.

For a sort of example of that, check out Fast Racing Neo on the Wii U. To overcome the limitations of the console and achieve 60 FPS, they rendered everything at 640x720 with no anti-aliasing, and that resolution even fluctuates dynamically during gameplay. But because of that, the lighting, texturing and post-processing effects are PS4/Xbox One caliber, and the visual compromises actually complement the style of the game. Digital Foundry had a great analysis of it a while back.

Modern TVs are also to blame, they support high resolution so it is basically not possible to play PS2-tehnology game on them anymore without obvious decrease in quality.

Personally, I think reducing resolution would automatically create 1000+ semi-premium cars with all the improved lightning effects of modern consoles. After several smart tweaks in programming part, I'm quite positive that nobody would ever tell the difference or care about it, just like in the example you posted.

As for the new HUD, I don't think they should return to orange. It was good back in its days, but somehow I think it doesn't belong in the series anymore. GT4 had good HUD (albeit I never loved lack of important info on the screen), but in GT5 and GT6 it didn't become prettier, just more complicated.

In GT6, it was all or nothing.
I hate that. Let me choose what i want and let me place it where i want...

By the look of things, GTS has duplicated information 3 times over and a map in a weird position....
I hope we will have the choice to customize it as much as we want...
Otherwise, i dont think i like it anymore than what it currently is...
