New Need For Speed Title to be Released by March 2018

If they kill manual tranny again

NO shift assist !!!
Well. The shift assist fiasco was criterion's fault and they're no longer in EA.
BTW. There still some criterion Oversimplification of NFS in the last game like autotune drift and the crashed camera.

If these changes were implemented into the latest NFS... then this would be the best NFS ever for 2018:

- NFS MW/Carbon physics system (imo, it's the best driving NFS that I've played, or NFS HP2 PS2)
- Manual Transmission with an actual RPM gauge with a redline...
- Unlimited car storage
- No "Crashed" cutscene
- No endless grinding like I've seen in NFS 2015
- An actually colorful world to drive around in

I'm not sure about what else, but it's a start...

I wish they would give some hints to what they mean by "best" nfs to date. If they mean best selling I'm nearly expecting remastered U2 with the modern versions of the cars with the older ones and the cars and features that were removed from the final, same with the original most wanted. Or "best" as in opinion as in I would like something like HP2 ps2.

What I want from NFS 2018

AI - Severely tone down the rubberbanding, and make AI performance reflective of what car they drive
Car Customization - If it's there, make sure every car has plenty of it
Cops - Make sure they're actually capable of chasing the player without them needing to drive at a snail's pace
Events - Whatever events there are, make it so you don't have to end up grinding the same few races by the end of the story.
Garage - Allow us to have at least 30 cars in our garage at any one time.
Environment - Whatever TOD or weather is in the game, do not tie it to location like in NFS15 (Like having it midnight in downtown, and nearly morning near the hills)
Handling - Make it possible to take corners at speed without being forced to drift (stop making drifts feel like QTE's).
I'd even be happy with a replication of Carbon's handling/physics model.
Story - Come up with interesting characters that aren't completely cringeworthy, and come up with an actual story with some sort of antagonist (Like Black Box's NFS')

To add to your list of improvements and features:

1. A bit more variety of certain cars, Carbon did this tremendously well, even Pro Street did this perfectly.
2. Cops have certain heat difficulties like Most Wanted and Carbon notably.
3. Like Forza let us create our own Vinyl Layer Groups (I love FM4 for this feature).

That's all that I have, but I can't think of much more. I can't expect much this time EA controls most of the development cycle.

^^^ Don't cops have heat levels in 2015?

But heat levels or no, that whole pursuit system is just the worst. I agree they need to go back to Most Wanted & Carbon for that.

There is a heat system, but it doesn't feel like there's much of a difference to them (to me anyway). Maybe there's a bigger likelyhood of seeing Charger cop cars, plus there's the roadblocks but overall the police in NFS15 feel like an afterthought. Really hope we get some competent cops in NFS18.

The police AI in NFS2015 was the worst that I've ever seen in any racing game that has cops. Even GTAV's cops were better minus the shooting.

I agree bring back the cops from NFSMW/Carbon but they should classify the cop car that they should use against you if Heat 4/5 happens for example:

Muscle (Dodge Challenger, Ford Mustang, etc.)- Dodge Charger
Tuner (Toyota 86, Subaru Impreza, etc.)- Nissan GTR
Exotic (Lamborghini Huracan, Murcielago, 911 GT3)- Lamborghini Aventador
Classic Exotics (Ferrari F40, Lamborghini Diablo, 911 Turbo (930))- 911 Turbo (930)

I figure that would be too unrealistic, especially for classic cars, since you wouldn't really see a classic police car being used by any modern police department. If there is proper heat levels I think it would have to be Ford Police Interceptor/Chevrolet Caprice PPV (Heat 1-2), Ford Mustang GT/Dodge Charger SRT (Heat 3-4) and Chevrolet Corvette Z06/Porsche 911 Turbo S (Heat 5-6).

Replace the Porsche with a Lambo then maybe it could work. The Porsches were used in Undercover as Federal units and they weren't as fast compared to the Vettes. Or maybe a GTR could work also.

Anyways I wonder when will they be releasing a teaser trailer? Judging from NFS2015's teaser trailer release date, then maybe around May/June we'll see a teaser.

I think a Porsche would be a better fit as a Federal unit, although a Lamborghini Huracan could potentially work.

If the game is going to released by this time next year (March 2018), then I'd expect to see the first trailer to be shown Summer or Autumn of this year at the latest.

As long as it's not a 911 GT3 RS (if they ever add it), then I'm fine with it. Maybe the 911R could work.

How about customization? For me NFS still beats FH3 in terms of customization (because FH3 only had a limited no. of bodykits and most of them are not the ones I'm looking for except for the RB and LW kits) but NFS2015 still feels lacking in the bodykits department. So how can they improve customization even further?

Ensure every car has the same level of customization. If Ferrari won't let them have Liberty Walk kits on the 458 (even though you can get it on FH3) then don't add the 458, same goes for any car they can't get proper customization options for. They were able to get proper kits for every car (including Lamborghini's & Porsche's) in the black Box games, so I don't see why they can't do it now. There's also no point adding brand new cars (such as the BMW M2) if you can't customizae it.

That is, unless they go down the Hot Pursuit route of just having personalization options like Rivals, but that's only if they go full HP and have winding roads and the car list being 90% supercars, including cop variants.

My predictions for this game based on nothing but guess work (and a bit of knowing how the industry works)

  • Always online but with improved social features
  • 10 car garage limit
  • Full and improved livery editor
  • Slightly improved vehicle roster
  • Car packs as DLC
  • No more wet roads everywhere, but still no daytime
  • Similar amounts of licensed bodykits etc. but mostly for a select few cars
  • Less actual cut scenes and more text based story
I'm going to hold off editing this so you can see how accurate it is ;)
