Well not exactly when you could happen to find the same car in the UCD for a lower price. It would be simple which you would buy. Unless the OCD offered unique colors not offered in the UCD. That would make it worth the while.

Buy them all and get the car collector trophy. you may never use most of em but you will have them in case you just suddenly have a craving to drive something out the box. I'm currently working on it and well, I recently learned to drift, and sometimes I try hitting 10k in some cars not exactly meant to drift including the 2j, r8 racecar, mark iv, miura, e-type, and some low powered ones like the i concept (didnt quite hit 10k) but you probably get my point. open up the boundaries and there is a whole new side to GT5, just buy em all, I usually grind a seasonal 5 times and check the UCD, and buy everything including the OCD , even if I absolutely hate the car, I still buy it

That's what I was going to say: Get all the cars you can, so you can experience as much as possible. You could always limit your favorites to 40 but I don't really see why that would make a difference. You said don't ask but I'm interested in hearing your reasoning for that.

40 cars, one for each level. Not actually having for example level 1 car, level 2 car, and so on. I just like my limits. I only buy cars that I use or drive, or simply love to the end. I have 41 cars because I do not count DLC. (I wish I could get rid of that Camaro) I do not like collecting. I actually have a strong hatred against collectors.

What's wrong with collecting? I plan to collect every car at some point but that doesn't mean there aren't cars I am more interested in or drive more. If you don't plan on at least trying every car (besides all the really similar variations) then I don't agree with that at all. If you only buy the cars you know you like, you're missing out on all the cars you don't know you like.
If you mean collecting as in trading for all the cars in the forums, I can see where you're coming from (though my point still stands). I like to earn my cars in the game but I can't fault people for wanting to get cars quicker so they can drive them.
The OCD lists are almost always themed, and sometimes have few or no Japanese cars. There was that German DTM update a while back, for example.

Half the cars, if not more, are cars that are new to me and I've loved them. Few are actually ones I loved since GT4 and even farther back to GT1. Few. Off the top of my head I can think of the R89C. It's one of those fall in love with first sight type of thing.

Buying like 10 cars in a row in the OCD or UCD can be pretty annoying. Having an option to "select/unselect" a group of cars and buying them together would be very useful.
