You are right about FM2, but I experiancd more lag there, I was just playing it with my brother yesterday.

I hate P2P , and I have damn good DL and Upload.. sometimes even if you have T1 speed, you still can get LAG because someone else can no DL and UPload as fast as your internet can. That is why we need serrvers!
I want servers
GT5 promises for ROOMS and servers

Not to mention the upcomming MAG. and it's massive online 256 player system.

Free doesn't mean that it's any good. I don't have any problem at all paying $7 bucks a month for an easy connection to play with my friends.

Not to mention I can watch streaming movies now and they are adding even more features, Facebook, fm.net... That is the kind of stuff that I like to see.

I can be playing one game and be talking with all my other friends playing different games. It's just things like that I want to see replicated on the PSN network.

Maybe the PSN network should start charging people.

Dont want to start a console war, but you could browse Facebook and last.fm on the PS3 browser since day 1. And the movie streaming is also available on the PS3.

I would never pay for pure online gaming, never!

Browsing those sites and having them integrated into the console and games are by far different.

Gaming is a hobby and it's a pretty expensive one. Why complain about having to pay for a service that is easy to use?

The PSN is also easy to use, no problems at all.
Its just not worth it for me, never would, im also not a huge online gamer.

I'm huge Forza fan, but I love all racing games. So when I heard the price of the PS3 finally went down "I had to get one. It's now sitting in my closest" waiting for the only game I'll probably ever play on it... GT5.

I bought a PS3 for GT5 ONLY. I've got my 360 for everything else.

When I first bought my PS3, GT5 and Blu ray films is all I was interested in. However ever since I upgraded my HDD to 320GB my PS3 has come to life. The PS3 offers so much more as a media centre compared to the 360. I catch watch and record TV, surf the internet, watch thousands of music videos, stream via my PC, watch Blu ray films, visit playstation Home. Infact I can spend many hrs on my PS3 without even playing a game!

So when your PS3 arrives I strongly recommend you try and use many of these features.

Xbox is like apple, over priced accessories

Dunno about that one. Msoft is Apples biggest rival and both companies are miles apart. I think Sony is more like apple in allot of ways. They keep inventing new and useless proprietary formats (when standard formats are perfectly fine) just so that people have to go to them to buy overpriced accessories.

With M$, it's just another handfull of dollars they extract unnecessarily. PSN isn't hard to use, it's just coming along, just like Live did in its early days.

If I want to play online, I have to pay for it.

The price is just about the cost of one game. That's one less game I have to save for. If Forza 3 doesn't blow me away with the online features, I'm canceling back to free Live Silver. I'm not too enthused at the thought of only 8 car races on the Nurburgring. I did a few races in F2, and it was pretty lonely when the pack spread out. More like a single player race.

How do you record TV on your PS3? That's definitely something I would be interested in.

Currently I have to rely on my 360 as a media center extender to do record TV...

Yeah, and if you can't swap your HDD just yet you can use your Ipod(certain models) as a HDD, and load your MP3's and movie files like AVI and MP4 and copy them right to your PS3 HDD, i just wish they'd release Codec packs for FLAC and MKV, then i would feel it would be an even more complete Media suite.

Yep. I'm also spending $665 on a wheel and pedal set for Forza 3 and GT5. I already own three Xbox 360's, and that doesn't include all the ones that I've purchased before and had to sell for Red Rings.

I also spent about $2100 on an M4 Carbine that I shoot maybe two times a year.

So what's the big deal?

Yeah, sometimes you just got to bite the bullet and just buy the things you want. Life is short.

You can also use the ps3 to get album covers for the songs that don't have it on the ipod, but you have to have the picture(s) in the hdd.

There's lots of things I want to discuss about the ps3's potential so that Jake's aware of it, but I don't feel too comfortable talking 'bout it here. Thing is capable of so much. But yes, GT5 is one of the good reason to get a ps3.

Meant to say it's going to be sitting. Although now it might be getting more use.

Dell.com had the PS3 slim the cheapest so when I ordered it was already on backorder, but I went ahead and placed the order anyway to save $30 and get free 2 day shipping.
