New rumour (good if true) from Japan.

The GTPSP transfer doesn't suprise me. GT5 is all new. All the cars are remodeled from the digital tarmac and up so why not go around and gain licenses to a lot of beautiful cars for the new game on the new system? Why go around and re-model all the existing cars when half of them aren't even used?

GTPSP has the car list it has because it's GT4 but shrunken down and crammed into a handheld. It's a helluva lot easier to just take all those cars and put in some new ones. And obviously all the cars you get from unlock pre-order codes may very well not be transferable.

Porsche does seem to make sense given the time line set for the contract expiration and the release date of GT5. We could very well see at least 10 cars (and if they pick the right 10 cars who needs more at the moment?) Though I'm not gonna hold my breath. We have Ferrari, Lamborghini and Bugatti (and then some) so I'm happy.

With the track count, 110 is awesome but I really wouldn't be disappointed with 70.

All with multiple grains of salt but definitely food for thought. If any thing this catches some wind and maybe a gaming magazine can turn it into some questions for Kaz.

I'm glad about the 100 car PSP transfer limit, after all, thats half the fun of GT5, getting the cars, the fun could be over if in 6 months time I have all 850 cars !!

I really wonder how they modeled the sls and the 458 so fast.

Well if the contract expires for ea in January then yes Porsche has a good chance.

DING DING DING!!! I knew I could not have possibly been the only person in the GT universe that had this same thought!

Hopefully the NFS crew will fix the bouncing issue. I can't see Porsche being too pleased about their precious Carrera GT being showcased in a hydraulic bouncing competition at Spa!

Even though the option is available,
I'm not even sure yet if I will use it...
I'm thinking it would be more fun to acquire each car in GT5,
struggling the way up.. than beginning with 100 cars already...
wasting a lot of fun.

And what on earth is a professional troll? I'm assuming you're imagining this or does such a thing exist? You all sound like you should work for bloody MI6.

It's an off-hand comment I made regarding my opinion of the writer.

Lets stop arguing about Trolling and silly stuff like that....
We can't change things by arguing about it.

Now, on that porsche rumour. I was just watching a vid of a tour around PD studios. Linky: http://www.virtualr.net/visit-at-polyphony-digital-video/

At around 7.40 in the vid, they look at a developer's screen.
PorcheOrLexusToyotaJPG.JPG (click to enlarge)

It looks, to me, like one of the Porsche Caymans that ran at the Nurburgring 24 Hours.... although i'm not sure. Even if it isn't, the roofline and front look very Porsche, so it may be a different model.

But the bodykit, although heavily modified like the Nurburgring Porsche, looks like something out of SuperGT. It may be an Lexus SC430.... Which we have allready seen in GT pics.
malaysia-super-gt-087.jpg

I couldn't find any good images, this is the best comparison I could find.

Many of the features seem similarly placed, but the SC430 seems much longer than the car in the pic...... I can't really clear it up much more than that.

Now, another little thing. From the same vid, a little bit after.
GTReplayJPG.JPG

It looks like a development build, and by the debug menu it looks like testing.... But the tabs on the bottom bar say 'Driver' 'Position' 'Course' and 'Auto'
But, much more interesting, on the black bar itself, from left to right traslating to top to bottom.

First 2 Selections
'Chat', with 2 logos that look like a pencil and a speech Bubble.

The next 4 Selections
'?'(Cannot make the word out) With what appears to be a green circle, surrounded by white.
'Cancel' With a red bar' (Not really that important)
'Free Run' With a helmet
and 'Race' with a chequer logo.

Then, on its own, exit. (Neither is this)
The next 3 logos, 'View' with 3 boxy looking logos.
This looks like they're testing spectator mode for online! 👍

Sorry if this post is messy, I havn't had much time to edit it.... :scared:

we’ve had an email from a reader we trust who’s had some info from a bloke who knows this man who’s a friend of a mate in Japan.

That line is so farcical, I'd say it's probably an intentional hint for anyone with half a brain - "please don't take seriously, we're just stirring things up a bit for fun"

If he's deliberately using false information (which is what I think he's doing), then that makes him a troll, by your definition. Doing so for $$$s instead of lols, makes him a professional.... if you want to get in to the semantics of it...

That darn website
Here’s a disclaimer for you: all or none of this could turn out to be true,

Reporting a rumor as a rumor is not presenting false information as true. It's presenting a rumor as a rumor. This is similar to the argument in amar's thread... although I believe amar's information far more than this guy... simply because I don't know him yet.

And it's clearly filed... on the website... under rumors. So... how is that deliberately misrepresenting falsehood as truth?

But, my comment was more my opinion of the writer. The one article may not be so bad, but now this has me questioning his motives. After TGS, an article slamming PD was easy fodder, and now he's getting in on the biggest of rumours (all of them)? There's a pattern developing, and it consists of him saying anything to get noticed. I don't like it.

I could be wrong, he could be telling the truth, but I have my doubts, and recommend you do to. I would also take anything else this guy writes in the future, with a grain of salt.

Look at how long the 10,000 car list fiasco lasted, and all that was was one website, trying to attract web hits.

It would make sense... if that site reported nothing but GT news. But this one reports on more than that.

And... looking through the author's other reports on the site... I really don't see any pattern of deliberate falsehood that some people here are attributing to him.

Note:
http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2009/09/27/is-sega-working-on-a-daytona-remake/

Whether it’ll eventually come to consoles is academic until someone confirms that the image isn’t just fan-made fabrication.

and this:

http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2009/09/23/rumoured-pspgo-launch-titles/

...However, a brief look at the Hong Kong PlayStation site suggests that the actual launch titles for the newly designed PlayStation Portable, whilst all top-notch titles, aren’t really that plentiful in number...

This author (and the site in general) never seem to present rumors as gospel.

So... how is this trolling?

And his article on Forza versus GT5... he actually has some nice things to say about the forthcoming GT5... I'm still dumbfounded how so many people are so hot on this guy.

I don't believe he is deliberately using false information. I have been visiting The Sixth Axis since before the PS3 was released, and it is a fair blog with a good sense of humour. The owner, nofi, seems like a fair old chap and I don't believe he would make up bulls**t just to drive web traffic.

I believe it is a genine rumour. I don't see the problem with it. There are disclaimers galore all over the post there. Only an idiot would expect it to be true.

Good post, niky. 👍

To the people questioning the credibility of this information: You're naturally supposed to take rumors with a grain of salt.

More of the same. ( rumors, innuendo, maybe, could-be, heresay, what-ifs, who-knows, etc.)

All we get for sure on this game is its delayed.

The only hope I will entertain at this point is, when it is released it will be worth playing. Otherwise I don't put any stock in it.

>.>

Rumour Bombs seem pretty powerful.... Seems to have blinded everyone of my post!
(I guess some facts don't matter as much as some rumours) :/

Can anyone confirm whether the car being modeled is a Porsche or not?
Even though I have a feeling it's the Super GT SC430, I've seen that in some (Pretty old) GT5 pictures.... I thinks it's a Red and White Denso-sponsored one. But my memory is a little fuzzy :P I don't see why they would be modeling a finished car.

Being a GT fan is just one Confusion after another ~.~

Southend Rage,

The photo you posted doesn't look like the Lexus, just look at the front grill. The shape is all wrong. The outline of the doors don't match either. And the back end looks too short.

The Alzen Cayman isn't an exact match either, but it seems closer.

Nice find! 👍

all of that seems plausible enough, but it's all very predictable.
Anyone could've made that up just to sound like they know stuff about games, not to be a troll or anything

If PD had ANY PR scense, thier fans wouldnt have to spend 3+ pages on every rumour that popped up.

b

Again... as said before, elsewhere and elsewhen... unless you speak Japanese, how do you know they don't have PR sense?

PD is a Japanese company. Headed by a Japanese guy, who manages a bunch of Japanese programmers and testers.

Asking them to come onto GTPlanet and respond to the manic ravings of a bunch of english-speaking fans is like asking the developers of Forza to read through the posts on a Russian Video Game site. While it would be nice... itsnotgonnahappen.com.

Yeah, i'm all confuzzled! If it's not the Lexus, and not a Porsche..... What could it be? My best bet is that it is another tuner car PD are putting in, like the Blitz Skyline and HKS/Trial/Whateveritwas Lancer ;)
Or, to get other hopes up, the Porsche in the game might be a lesser-known Porsche race variant, remember the Lambo in GT3? (Ok, I had better stop speculating as you can go on forever....)

Thanks for the replies guys, it makes posting seem worthwhile, I was pretty tired when I wrote that because I got up at 5AM to watch F1 Qualy' live. It was brilliant! :P

Its definitely not the SC430, at least not from the Super GT.

Im still not sure what it is, but i know ive seen it before.
