PD is a Japanese company. Headed by a Japanese guy, who manages a bunch of Japanese programmers and testers.

Asking them to come onto GTPlanet and respond to the manic ravings of a bunch of english-speaking fans is like asking the developers of Forza to read through the posts on a Russian Video Game site. While it would be nice... itsnotgonnahappen.com.

I think livery is the best guess for the word. IMO the word looks too long to be lobby and if you had a 'bb' then I would imagine you would see some white pixels sticking out the top but there is nothing, they would stick up like the first letter L in the word.

It almost does look like livery, due to the space between the last two letters which is consistent with an -ry.

Yes the font is smaller - I suspect that when the option is grayed out the font size reduces as well. Looks like Livery to me. I'm not hopeful or anything though, doesn't really bother me to be honest.

Which is what i thought, but it's not "in-game" its a dev build, and they DO have Chat and wat not but theres also View with different categorizations, so it's anyones guess, but deduction led me to think Livery, just because of the missing || where bb would be.

The photo you posted doesn't look like the Lexus, just look at the front grill. The shape is all wrong. The outline of the doors don't match either. And the back end looks too short.

The Alzen Cayman isn't an exact match either, but it seems closer.

I wish they would stop sponsoring Porsche cars in racing.... Really grinds my gears!

At around 7.40 in the vid, they look at a developer's screen.

It looks, to me, like one of the Porsche Caymans that ran at the Nurburgring 24 Hours.... although i'm not sure. Even if it isn't, the roofline and front look very Porsche, so it may be a different model.

But the bodykit, although heavily modified like the Nurburgring Porsche, looks like something out of SuperGT. It may be an Lexus SC430.... Which we have allready seen in GT pics.

I couldn't find any good images, this is the best comparison I could find.

Many of the features seem similarly placed, but the SC430 seems much longer than the car in the pic...... I can't really clear it up much more than that.

Now, another little thing. From the same vid, a little bit after.

It looks like a development build, and by the debug menu it looks like testing.... But the tabs on the bottom bar say 'Driver' 'Position' 'Course' and 'Auto'
But, much more interesting, on the black bar itself, from left to right traslating to top to bottom.

First 2 Selections
'Chat', with 2 logos that look like a pencil and a speech Bubble.

The next 4 Selections
'?'(Cannot make the word out) With what appears to be a green circle, surrounded by white.
'Cancel' With a red bar' (Not really that important)
'Free Run' With a helmet
and 'Race' with a chequer logo.

Then, on its own, exit. (Neither is this)
The next 3 logos, 'View' with 3 boxy looking logos.
This looks like they're testing spectator mode for online! 👍

From that video, 03:00, it seems that we can pick the driver's face in GT5? Those could be the textures of the audience' faces... but their faces don't seem to be so detailed in GT5P or in the GT5 trailer that we saw.

I agree. I hate to dash everyone's hopes, but it really is the SC430. Look at that shape after the front fender. It's exactly the same. (Sorry for my bad MS Paint skills. I don't have PS on this computer. ^^; )

Well speculating about anything is bound to bring disappointment. However currently we don't have much else to go on.

As for the mystery pic and what a liver editor would be doing in a race menu. In Forza you can have more than one livery per car. Perhaps this is the same setup that they have and you can switch liveries in the race menu.

Yeah, I guess it's the SC430.....
Look at the hoods, the vents to appear to match too. It was confusing finding a matching images because the older SuperGT SC430's have different aero work, less substantial. The CG image must appear shorter because of the angle.....

They must be moddelling that new version '08/9

Now that's cleared up, i'm almost certain that the greyed out image is lobby, livery doesn't fit into the context of the other selections.
Lobby fits because it appears to be some kind of spectator mode.

And it's clearly filed... on the website... under rumors. So... how is that deliberately misrepresenting falsehood as truth?



It would make sense... if that site reported nothing but GT news. But this one reports on more than that.

And... looking through the author's other reports on the site... I really don't see any pattern of deliberate falsehood that some people here are attributing to him.

This author (and the site in general) never seem to present rumors as gospel.

Obviously you misunderstand me. I never said he claimed those thing to be true. I know he represents this a rumour, but I don't think he was told anything, by anyone. I think he just wrote the best 'rumour' article he could think of.

I was not definitively saying that this writer was lying, I was asking the question, and keeping people open to the possibility. The possibility that this guy didn't hear squat, and just wrote the best stuff he could come up with. Maybe he did, I don't know, but I have a hard time believing he landed a scoop that big.

I'm just saying keep that in mind when reading stuff like this.

Wow, just got back from a 2 day trip. I thought this news would generate a lot more buzz around here.

If you follow Neogaf and you know Nofi, you would realize that this info is hot. Of course things might not materialize 100%, but Nofi knows GT. He has contacts.

I can't believe nobody thought of this, but i bet 10 bucks Nofi's contact is Amar. Makes too much sense not to be.

Anyway, i'm hoping the delay was for the best.
