New seasonal events look pretty difficult.

I am so lame I didnt know you could to a power limiter. *embarrassed*

For the FIAT I only upgraded to meet the power not exceed and limit. I had to buy another one because I changed the oil and got 67 HP so failed the requirements.

Bought my second one and because of the practice of the first car was able to get it the first time. Key to that one for me was not touching the brakes if humanly possible.

I started the Lotus one and stopped when it exceeded power after the fourth race. I got third but was still tweaking on the suspension to keep it stable. Being able to weight jack now with ballast should help stabilize it.

Wish you could play with air pressure.

I can't finish in 1st... Tried several times (about 20) and best was 2nd at 2sec behind the 1st... How can I manage to finish 1st?! Damm...

Instead of trying all the tunes - pick one that feels the best and keep trying. Practice makes perfect. Almost no brakes are ever required.

Now I have tried the Fiat challenge all day - literally all day - and I just can't do it! The best I've got is 3 seconds behind nr. 1. I have triend all kinds of settings.

Is this meant to be fun?

Do I need to post a full 5 lap Fiat vid? I'll run the race again tonight after work and record it for ya'll. Someone will need to tell me how to post that video on the computer though....

Almost no required BRAKES?

This crappy car doesn't turn even with Sensitivity at 7.........

I'm braking in the curve after the tunnel, ALWAYS. It's impossible to do that turn without braking.

1.2 seconds behind the A2. TIPS PLEASE.

Just barely tap the brakes there - just enough to set the nose. Turn in super early, use the understeer to your advantage. Turn in as if you were aiming to smash into the apex.

Also, perhaps adding more swaybar and making your toe more negative - should help with understeer.

It's impossible.

I tapped the brake 3 times, and the car wasn't in good line to do the curve.

Maybe i should brake closer to the inside wall?

Don't tap it 3 times - tap it one time. I believe i didn't even need to downshift from 4th gear. You want to brake early, aim the car at the inside wall, and smash the gas - don't let off the gas again until the next turn.

It's not working.

I tap one time, with the car really close to the wall, but he won't turn.

Almost giving up, seriously.

Uploading Fiat 500 Video in progress. 35% and still 215 min to end. It takes much time to convert a 640mb movie from 3gp to YT format:/

Other car that i hate: Lotus Elise.

That oversteer is driving me crazy! (Imagine Christopher Walken saying that)

Here's my setup for the Lotus starting at the top:

Aero: Rear 20
Power Limiter set to 98.5% to get to 195 HP
Fully Custom Tranny: Final Gear 4.529; Top Speed 137
Twin Plate Clutch, Semi Racing Flywheel
STANDARD differential, did not buy the Adjustable LSD, you don't need it.

Suspension:
Ride height: F -10 R -6
Springs: F 6.8 R 8.3
Extension: F 5 R 5
Compression: F 4 R 4
Roll Bars: F 3 R 3
Camber: F 1.5 R 0.7
Toe: F 0.0 R 0.20

Aids:
TC 1
ABS 1
Steering Sensitivity 5 (I use DS3)

If you race flawlessly and keep the car relatively straight and spend little time spinning the rear tires you should pass the lead car going into the final corner. I was a little sloppy since it was my first try and didn't pass until about midway through the corner along the outside because I braked so late.

Use late braking to get inside the other cars, then get the car straight with 40% - 60% throttle if you can manage it, it's really hard on the DS3. That's really all I did.

This damn Fiat race is giving me gray hair. I just bought a new one and put zero aero stuff on it so hopefully that helps.

Excellent setup!! thx a lot.

win the event 2 tries after this, this has been by far one of the better races of gt5, it was extremely fun.

done it with a DS3 too.

My Car Setup (FIAT 500)

- Shift gear at maximum 4800-5000 rpm WHOA! I was up into redline. Seems like the torque curve for the engine produced best umph from about 6800 to 7600. I think that was the range

What I did:

Weight Reduction:
Window Weight Reduction

Exhaust:
Sport Exhaust

Transmission: fully customizable set to 95mph top speed. No other changes.

Clutch: Twin-Plate
Flywheel: Maximum
Fully Customizable LSD -- Purchased, but left stock settings

Suspension: fully customizable
- Ride Height: -20/-20
- Spring Rate: Stock
- Dampers (extension): Stock
- Dampers (compression): Stock
- Anti-Roll Bars: stock
- Camber angle (-): 1.0/.7
- Toe Angle: 0.00/-0.10

Brakes: 4/7

Laps: 1st - 2:08:xxx (low xxx) / 2nd-5th: 2:03:1xx - 2:04:1xx

Smooth consistent laps.

Second lap+ timing speed markers:87 into first chicane. To 80 at hilltop, 81 into lefthander going up hill.

Through tunnel and dont dip below 58 before sharp right hander. 52/51 through right hander.

Up to 63 before next right hander, I would dip to 59 sometimes, sometimes I could hold 61. Never knew what I was doing wrong to lose speed.

Hug right and clip left before the down hill tunnel. 69 before "letting off lefthand steering input". Hold gear until 83, shift into 5. That should put your time mark within 1:01:xxx.

finally some real challange! i got gold in the three events, it was hard to beat but the prize cars was obout 35 millions worth! the 500 its all about gear ratio, once you ll find the right setup is pretty easy. the elise is the best, try to be clean an gentle with the throttle, if oversteer too much, add some ballast in the front and reduce the acceleration lsd. the subaru its all about avoid understeer, be clean entering in the corners and limit the lsd in the front

i have no idea how you guys do this on ds3, it just seems impossible to get smooth braking/gas response with those delicate little triggers

i still use X and square:)i learn playin this game more than 10 years ago, i have tried to change and use the trigger but it was impossible. trust me its not so difficult, my suggest is to try to drive clean instead of try to pass every car from the first turn. get the subaru on laguna on pratice, if you go under 1:35 you could beat the challange, and run in 1:34 its not so difficult, i think the 1.32 is possible with that car, learn the braking points and try to be pass without goin wide:)

Buttons are pressure sensitive. I was used to playing with a DS2, the sixaxis sucked, so I bought an adapter for PS3. This in Prologue times, now I only use the G25.

My point is, you need to get used to it, but that X does have progression. It's not an on/off button.

edit:
Scooby setting done as well (and some photos):
