+Currently I have a GT2 and DFGT and i will be purchasing the CSW :)

I also have the DFGT and GT2 in addition to the T500, oddly enough.

Am a bit skeptical of the CSW, though. Hope it's great, but will hold off on ordering one until some reviews are in.

I was skeptical of the T500 too, and boy was I wrong.

For electronic of the base, we must compare this:
- "Torque" Powerful
- "RPM" Speed
- "Power Supply" powerful
- "Sensor" type
- "Bit Resolution" of steering axis

Do you have this wheel ? Which wheel do you have? How do you know ?All that's available to us atm is viral hyping .(which means zero until you have it to try for yourself)

Yeah a lot of people are caught up by the hype machine. just like they've been hyping the CSS for a long time now and it appears the TH8 RS has beat it to the market and they still hyping the coming of the CSS along with everything else

Granted, CSW does look amazing I can't hate on it. That BMW wheel rim I just noticed today and it looks awesome. Thrustmaster will have a fight on their hands which is good for the consumer cause I think the price should drop to around $450 for a new t500rs at least. This way more people can get this very fun high end wheel.

I don't think there's much of a Fanatec hype machine for the CSS. Other than a few crumbs here and there, they've been pretty quiet about it. I think it's mostly idiots like us on the forums who geek out over this stuff.

Fanatec looks like they can rightly be proud of the CSR Elite and CSW and I have my eye on them. They both look very, very nice and appear overbuilt. It's not like the T500 RS is chopped liver though. Many people have said it delivers high end performance in an "affordable" package. As far as I can tell from footage, the CSR Elite and CSW look like they have faster snap to center speed than the older Fanatec products, but I haven't seen any drifting footage. It wouldn't surprise me if the T500 RS is still faster in that regard. I could probably convert that thing into a stand mixer.

The guy in the latest video has so much lag between his physical steering and the steering displayed in cockpit view. I'm using the regular t500 rim on PC and mine doesn't lag like that at all in this view. I'm curious as to what is going on.

he's not on PC I think

He mentions in the video that it's because he turned the sensitivity up, and he's on PS3.

No lag here on PC either with T500 RS and F1 wheel add-on. Everything to 0% and FFB is at 20/70/20.
I doubt my PC specs would let it happen with such games though... i7 2600k, 8GB vengeance 1866mhz, 480GTX.

Its not input lag that he would see or feel in real life, it just looks that way due to the video, if you watch any of the inside sim racing videos then every single one of them would appear to have the same kind of crazy input lag.

I have no idea how, what when or why this happens, or what causes it, I only know that it is present in pretty much every single one of these type of videos on the internet. I'm sure somebody will come along with the right answer, after reading this. And I have seen it explained before, I just can't remember.

He mentions the lag in the video (because he turned the sensitivity up) at around 2:40.

Need a review from someone in iRacing... F1 2011 is practically Outrun 2011...

Ipse dixit:
- "for 150 € the wheel is amazing, is a good choice imho the front of the wheel looks like the shame material than GT wheel, the paddleshift are awesome and had very short travel, also you can upshift or downshift with an only paddle ( look at the video), perfect for the FW31. It had 29 programable functions".

Ahhhhh ^ Not an iRacing member (yet)
What's the gist of it? And anyone hear ANY news on the wheel for US or did everyone just give up and wait for it to show up like we did T500RS?

I got the wheel for about 3 weeks almost now. It's great, but I don't play iRacing though. Used it with F1 2011 instead and it's a great wheel. Compared to the GT5 wheel it will let you steer much more precise. Also the on the wheel shifter paddles are bliss. A definite must have if you're a open wheel racer!
The grips are made of rubber, but feels nicer and you have more grip or so it seems then with the rubber on the GT5 wheel. The buttons are layed out just right for your thumbs to reach. Although the d-pads below are a bit hard to reach maybe. But who uses a d-pad while racing a lot? Just use it on the straight and it'll be fine.
The wheel is made of the same quality if not slightly better then the GT5 wheel.

So ehm... I dunno what you want to know further, but i'll look again tomorrow if you've left me a question. Now it's time to see what Mr Sandman has in store for me tonight. ;)

Thanks for the opinion and congrats on the wheel. No questions here, just happy to know that the users of the wheel are pleased/ecstatic about it before I throw my money at the Thrustmaster folk.

What settings are you guys using in the control panel for pc version of f1 2011 ?

I have wheel rotation set at 270 degrees. FFB settings are standard in the driver.

In game I use FFB settings 20% / 70% / 20%. Deadzones menu is 0% all the way.

Yeah I mostly stick to iRacing so was curious how you guys been doing on that one. I'm not in a huge hurry atm though since I've been focusing on GT cars. However, I might leap to the Star Mazda when I get promoted at the end of the season. So that f1 wheel could come in handy I'd reckon

LogiForce thats a nice writeup 👍

Thanks Sandboxgod. But I just simply don't know how to write anything short that involved explaining stuff. I mean I could go "the wheel is great. Definitely buy it!" but nobody would know much more after reading that. LOL

Thank you Logiforce for your impressions of the wheel 👍. Looking at the iracing forum it seems soon their will be a shift light mod for the top of the wheel .I will keep people informed here if they wish .
