First photos of the new monster from TVR

The first rule of attending a motor show is to have a nosey about in the car park first. Today at MPH'03 we grabbed our first pictures of the new Sagaris before it was whisked into Earls Court for the first show of the day.

It comes with vents galore, plenty of carbon fibre on the inside and a 400bhp version of TVR's straight six. Price will be a smidgen under £50K.

:odd:

I sure hope it goes like **** (the good way) cause it sure looks like **** (the bad way).

"It looks like it's crashed into a Halfords shop window, and bits have sort of stuck to it." -Clarkson

I'm sure it's fast as hell though so I can easily overlook the ugly exterior.

It looks like it's going to fall to pieces. I'd like it if it was smoothed out, about 90% of the vents were removed and the ass end was coherent. What a travesty.

I'm guessing they'll change some of it, but I personally think it's an amazing looking car.

btw, there was a thread on this a while back

I love those headlights. I never thought I'd see them outside of a car chop. I think the car looks a bit too cluttered though, mainly because off all the vents and such a short car length.

'Sagaris' sounds like a Kia. The car looks like a Max Power'd T350C. If I wanted a kick-ass British sports car for £50,000 I'd buy a Noble over it.

The Sagaris Acctually has a 500bhp Supercharged version of the Straight six.

It acctually looks very cool in the flesh, but you better get used to seeing it, especially if you go to Races because it will be starting its own race series, which will take over the current Tuscan Challenge.

BTW milefile if you wanted a smoothed out version look at the regular T350C

The vents in the bonnet are temperature-sensitive, and are shown in the open position there.

However, I'm beginning to think that TVR have lost the plot in design terms.

True, everything after the Tuscan isn't so appealing to me. All the newest designs seem to scream 'rushed concept car design' well at least in my opinion.

Although if it performs, who cares what it looks like from the outside. I'm sure you'll be having too much fun driving it with 500bhp.

Especially in the wet due to the lack of driver aids  It's a bit scary.

I can deal with the vents (after a little therapy), I can deal with the headlights, but the rear end looks like it's been taken to with a tube of super-glue, a hacksaw and a meccano set.

It looks 100% better in the flesh thoe, and not forgeting all the vents and other Suposedly "Ugly" parts are acctually for performance and handling reasons.

BTW you dont buy a TVR for technology, you buy them because there fun cars and are a challenge and fun to drive, i for one would choose that over a 911 Turbo anyday, because the 911 turbo has so many drivers aids you might aswell be not driving the thing!

Only Girls and Grans Require Drivers 'Aids'.

whats that backward facing roof scoop thingy for? I also dont like the exhaust system sticking out like that. It's ugly, maybee thats why they made it fast, so you can run away when people laugh at you.

I might go against the grain with saying that I think it looks awesome. It's one of the better TVR's to come around. It looks more performance than prior TVR's. I like it. :D

The reason why they stick out the side is because that it doesnt disturb the air flow passing the rear splitter therefore increasing downforce.

BTW How the f8ck is it Ricer? Its not even from asia and its not moddified!?!?!

Drivers aids are used in as many motorsport catagories as can use them. Such as traction control in last year's formula 1 cars. Girls and grans?

IRL drivers aids are useful because you never know when someone's car has taken an oil leak around the next bend. Life's too short to waste it on trying to be a 'big man' in a very high powered car.
IIRC the test driver for the lastest porsche supercar claimed it was too powerful for 'mere mortals' in the wet without aids.

rice is now a general term for any car that has accessories that make it look fast rather than drive fast. Doesn't have to be from asia, and car makers aren't excempt from bad taste themselves.

This car has so many bits hanging off it it fits the term 'rice' quite nicely in some respects.

I keep thinking the back bits are going to pop out with a hiss and reveal a deadly array of sci-fi weapons :odd:

Some of these pictures are less flattening I think. They show it off at some obscure angles. It woudl look nice with all the intakes all popped in with the body, but it looks a ferocious car and I love it. Now where can I find 50 grand?

Don't forget that the ultimate TVR is the nightmarish Speed12. The car was even more powerful than the McLaren F1, but the F1 can be controlled and contained, unlike the British bastard (can I say that word?) of a car the Speed 12.

As far as the TVR Sagaris goes, I'm unsure to think of it as a next-gen Tuscan, an upgraded Griffith 500, or a car trying to do one better against some Japanese car bodykits like some of Veilside's bodykits (The pink Supra in Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero driven by one of the "12 Zodiac" members) is an example of a Japanese McLaren F1. Anyhow, I feel the same way I feel about the Ferrari Enzo. I don't really like its looks, but if I can perform, "...even car enthusiasts should be happy." -GT2, with the Info on the Toyota Prius.

The thing is, I don't know how big the trackday industry is in America, but that is what it is for.

A far better all-rounder is the T350C, but the Sagaris will have much stiffer suspension for smooth tracks.

I also disagree with it being rice, because it is all there for a reason.

If you still think its rice I guess this is too:
