Shaved a tenth off:

Driver: Whistle Snap
Time: 1:38.172
Transmission: Manual (no clutch)
Controller: Wheel (G27)
ABS: 1

I would have got a 37.9 if the back end didn't step out on the exit of the last corner :grumpy:

Oh well, still a fabulous lap, well done 👍 you're really pushing the boundaries of that car!

I've done it!

Controller: Wheel (G27)
ABS: 1

37.5 is a possibility, I just need to sort out one or two minor errors.

Not if I have anything to say about it :P

EDIT: Thanks for posting that video, it's good to have a comparison of your own run. I'm actually slightly quicker in the first half than that video, but looks like I lose most of it on the hairpin chicanes (the difference between the F and GP version) and the penultimate corner.
No problem. What is your best first sector time? My best is ending in the .3XX for reference.

Driver: saidur_ali/saidur
Time: 1:37.417
Transmission: Manual (No clutch used)

Did some laps on this. This particular lap I dropped quite a few tenths on the final few corners. I think I could do a time in the 36's if I do a consistent lap but don't know if I will have the time to do have another run on this. Quite a few corners where you can make up quite a lot of time if you nail them.

Well I'm still a few seconds back - just can't figure it all out....

Auto might be your "problem". Try using manual it allows you to shift at better times and pick the gear best suited to take a corner as fast as possible, etc.

Improved but there's still some time left in it.

Driver: GTP - gorsad/PSN - gorsad
Time: 1:41.178
Transmission: Manual (no clutch)
Controller: DS3
ABS: 1
Brake Balance: 5/5

The moderators moved it to spot races and time trials, I then moved it back, not realising it was an offence. But I now agree with the moderators about the placement of the thread.

Makes sense but I think there will be less new people catching the threads. Maybe you could put a reminder on the main forum every week (assuming it doesn't displease the mods:)).

Had a real quick go - it's the first GTR I've actually enjoyed using. Maybe because it doesn't have any characterics of a normal GTR. Good track for the car too.

Yeah, I guess we could try that 👍

This weeks event is meant to imitate the asian time trial running at the moment. I think it is a good track for the car although I struggle in the final sector.

Very identical event like GT5 Asia Online Tournament 2012

Fuji F, Impul GTR, no aids:D

hope my time will not be dissapointed (can I use my time from that event? because it has the same regulation like yours).
edited: will do it later:D

1.36.753 Using wheel, ABS 1

No, it has to be the ARCADE MODE ONLY CAR!

No, it has to be the ARCADE MODE ONLY CAR!

Ok i will do it

(but in that event, we cannot choose the car hahaha. so it is like in the arcade)

btw i will do that again in the arcade mode. thx:D

(do i need to post some screenshot or something? to proof the laptime?)

Thats not ARCADE MODE CAR either!:banghead:

ramstig: only if you post a lap time that is the fastest, but by all means post one, the more vids the better!

This weeks event was meant to imitate that event, mac k came up with the idea 👍 it allows people to see how they compare to the rest of the world.

Had 10 minute go at this, screwed up last corner so I know there's times left. But good fun all the same.

I do a few laps in arcade mode with this car, but the result is same with me in that seasonal event:D

Bit of an improvement, lost 3 tenths on a 39.1** ghost in S2 so could have been better. Still aiming for the low 37s, but just as almost everyone seems to be finding, all the time goes in the last sector. I ran a few laps on Mediums and set a 37.296, in the first two sectors on the Hards it's really not hard to match, I just need to get it hooked up more smoothly out of the chicane and the last two corners.

Great lap! Always nice to see new people taking part, thanks!

@mizx, awesome lap and a nice improvement too, good luck hitting low 37's, i'll be happy if I can get low/mid 38's. Anyway good luck 👍

@ramstig, wow incredible time! A flawless lap, you are going to be hard to beat this week!

@LMP787B, thanks, my lap have a lot of mistakes, on the 1st corner ... then that sharp left hander after the long right curve, and the chicane right after 2nd sector .... never drive with ABS in GT5 ... love the challenge, and it's more realistic, as with ABS, a car can brake so late, it's impossible to do in real life, I think the ABS should have been renamed anti lock brake assist ... to top it, real life JGTC and Super GT cars don't have ABS :)

Cool! I'm gonna have to try turning abs off! For the sharp left hander, brake early stay wide turn in tight to the apex, get on the accelerator asap, you want to be going quick enough so you just run out onto the rumble strip. That way you can gain maximum exit speed. First corner try to accelerate after clipping the apex. The chicane and whole of final sector is causing me trouble, I can't seen to brake in the right places due to the sweeping curves. Anyway hope this all helps 👍

Thanks for the advice LMP787B, probably gonna try again tomorrow when I have spare time, it's a hard work doing those laps with DS3 without ABS, threshold and trail braking really took a lot of concentration, and I often made at least a mistake in every lap :(

Those with the wheel should have done the time trial without ABS, braking with pedal is so much better if not easier than with buttons, and I'm curious if wheel owner who posted quick times with ABS could do the same without ABS, just to see if ABS assist did gave massive advantages.

I tried ABS assist several times, the braking becomes more of a chore, no feel whatsoever and it gave an impression of a toy car, unlike in real life where it only kicks in when i brake too hard up to a point of locking up, in GT5 - just mash it hard, and watch the speed unbelievably plummeted so fast without any drama.... while without the brake assist, i could feel the car losing balance as the tires starts to lock up when braking hard, then when one of the tires loses grip during a corner, i have to fight with steering, throttle inputs and brake modulation, trail braking is simply awesome ...

No problem mate 👍 always glad to help anyone. I must admit the appeal of driving with abs off is tempting, i guess it gives the car more feel, and requires more concentration.

It's like when I decided to never use TCS when I got my wheel because manual is much better than TCS, I used auto with a ds3, but auto on a wheel just seems too easy and as if all your doing is steering ad throttle. Manual feels natural to me now on the wheel and i'm sure it benefits my lap times accordingly :)

If you or anybody else has any queries or suggestions for upcoming car/track combo, please PM me, i'd love to hear what you think.

Thanks again.

Couldn't ever seem to find time to do the last two events properly between work and the hockey playoffs. I was not happy with my Nordschleife time at all and only spent a few minutes with the Zonda. Hopefully I can get a few more quality sessions this time around.

I can't stand the street GT-R, but maybe if I run it some more it will start to make sense to me. The "GT-R" race car is a lot of fun however, and pretty well suited to Fuji. I was hoping to get below 1:40 today but it didn't happen. Next time for sure.
