Couldn't ever seem to find time to do the last two events properly between work and the hockey playoffs. I was not happy with my Nordschleife time at all and only spent a few minutes with the Zonda. Hopefully I can get a few more quality sessions this time around.

I can't stand the street GT-R, but maybe if I run it some more it will start to make sense to me. The "GT-R" race car is a lot of fun however, and pretty well suited to Fuji. I was hoping to get below 1:40 today but it didn't happen. Next time for sure.

Nice time, good luck getting under 1:40, i'm sure you have it in you 👍, I definetly prefer the race car version, i'm so used to my xanavi nismo, so I should be doing better than usual this week.

Jumped on for another little go at this. The 2nd and 3rd last corners are my big weakness here. not necassrily going in to them, but getting out of them. Can feel another 4-5 tenths if I sort myself out, then I'm starting to get limited by the controller.

Nice time, your about 2 seconds ahead of my best after about 10 laps from a few days ago, hopefully I can get within 0.5/1 second of you.

Out of interest, what's your sector times, if you don't know them don't worry, I was just curious to see where I am losing time, thanks.

Thanks.

This is probably the only game where I don't pay attention to sector times. Weird that.

The only one I notice and almost remember is the first sector, which usually comes in between 20.2xx - 20.4xx for me I think. Almost sure it's 20 seconds, but I definitely remember the .2xx to .4xx part. Sorry I can't help you with the rest at the moment, but I will look it up when I play later this evening, or even upload the replay if I improve.

Thanks anyway, I was only curious. Good luck improving though. 👍

Time: 1:39.944
Transmission: AT
Controller: DS3
ABS: 1.

Improved 8 tenths, down to a 1:39.144, however there's still little scraps out there, I'll try and get a 1:38 by Saturday, however as others have mentioned AT transmission may be somewhat of a limiting factor for my times. Enjoying this anyway

Great time, and I am glad you are enjoying it, hopefully I can put in a bit more time.

I would definetly suggest manual it gives you so much more control over auto, but thats my opinion. Anyway good luck.

Transmission: Manual (No clutch used)
Controller: Wheel (G27)

I think there is a potential 5 tenths left in this. My best first sector so far is 20.230. My current fastest lap was not really particularly fast in any area from what I remember so a bit mediocre throughout but still a reasonable time. Hopefully I get another chance to run this TT and try and do a lap that is closer to my potential.

Wow! Incredible lap, didn't expect to see low 37's let alone the possibility of mid 36's!!! I hope you get a chance to have another go and improve. 👍

Thanks. Close to mid 36's been done by ramstig on the actual event: http://www.gran-turismo.com/hk/products/gt5/event/d16624.html

The track is hard to get right in a few places. I normally have laps that either I do the first half right and lose time in the last, or do the first half poorly and the final right. I think the latter was what happened on my current fastest lap from memory. I did a lap a few minutes later after setting my current fastest lap which the former happened and that was in the 1:37.0XX's also from what I remember. Hopefully I do get the chance to have another go at this. Well done everyone so far, times seem closer than last week in general although the track is a bit shorter.

Wow nice, I want to get low 38's by the end of the week if I have time to put more laps in.

It always seems hard to nail a perfect lap in all sectors. I seem to drive well when concentrated and relaxed, when I do a really good first half I lose my concentration and get a bit shaky and start making mistakes.

Not as many people seem to competiting this week, oh well it's still early in the week :)

I like the track in a super gt car it just feels right somehow.

Anyway good luck improving, I'm sure you can do it 👍 have fun! :D

fully agree with you on the first part this track is extremely hard to piece together a "good lap" - and its real easy to loose alot of time with one slip up!

the number of people I think has every thing to do with the new location - just not getting the exposure

Cya,
Hankster

PS its a hard one this week but I'm having a blast trying!!!!

wow thats great. especially your 1st sector time

(I only get 20.31x).

my best time in sector 1 is 20.25x (full of luck).

1.36 is not problem, you can do it:D

(PS: 1.36 with Loadcell is surely hard! need to push the brake hardly to get the car stopped)

So frustrating! I did a couple of good warm up laps, got a mid 1:41 being confident of another second then seemed to hit a (mental) wall. Managed to shave a few tenths but couldn't seem to make any progress. Kept making the same the mistakes or pushing too far, no in-between.

A lot of the track seems quite featureless so finding markers is a bit difficult on some corners (I'm pretty crap at this anyway). However 👍 to phil_75 for the first corner braking point tip (light tarmac patch) - I was too early.

Nice time, the car is hard to get a feel of initially. Keep at it, and you will get the hang of it 👍 try and carry as much speed as possible out of the corner. Anyway good luck 👍

Great lap from GTP_ramstig, can the settings (suspension/gears etc) on the cars in GT academy TT be changed?

Good luck on achieving your target 👍.

Thanks. It was not done on my current fastest lap though. Looking at your video, we have very different styles. How do you rotate the car so well using gear changes? Any tricks?

I have done quite a few in the 20.25X, above and below before. The trick is to brake just a little bit after the 150 metre board. Keep it in 3rd gear, when you get closer to the entry of the corner, go off the brakes, and start tapping the e-brake buttonand the get the car into the apex of the corner, obviously also steering at the same time. Depending on how well you have the car in the apex of the corner, the more throttle can be applied sometimes full throttle which helps hit the low first sector times.

I don't know if I will run this TT again but there is a lot of time left in the car in all sectors to hit the 36 if I do try it again.

Can you not adjust the brake pedal so it is easier to go hard on the brakes?

I've got a bit of first sector advise above.

It is the same as far as I know, I'm sure ramstig confirmed it in this thread.

After a rather long absence due to many things outside of the GT world I shall be doing a small run later today on this combo, sounds fun to me.

I have done the time sheet for this week, which can be found here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtZwhhnVjEYTdG5KQ0lGelZYeXFOTHdORC0zai1qRUE

If anybody would be interested in helping me with the time sheet (As my final year exams are on their way) then please feel free to PM me 👍

Updated Time:
1:38.397
Ran much faster, same settings but here they are anyway:
Wheel: DFGT
Manual (No Clutch)
ABS: 1

It's all about where your breaking to be honest, 1:37 flat is easily done with late braking, I think, its easier to use 0 ABS and just use a good Brake Balance, I will experiment later.
Edit: 1:37 flat not easily done, but if you know what your doing ;)

Thanks for creating and updating the leaderboard.

My time needs to be in the controller section though, not the wheel. I'm not sure how or if I even can move it over though. Thanks.

I'm all out of ideas for the next event!

Anybody have any ideas please say and I will happily consider them! Thanks.
