If he's turned it down because of that fair play to the man, the press push too hard, too much and often the best they can come up with is "beckham's new hair style", I certainly wouldn't want it.
Wow, he's turned it down? Can't blame him really, what with the English press being such bastards (sorry for my language but they really are) and the team really needs a lot of work, but who else can do it i wonder?
I don't know if that's the true reason for him not accepting the job. The Brazilian media was pressuring him way harder when he was coaching Brazil, way harder. Anyway, at least he'll be free to coach Brazil after the world cup. Parreira is boring.
So Scolari has bottled it, and now the rest of the candidates know that they are at best second-choice... [sarcasm]hats off to the FA for handling the selection process so fluently, right before the World Cup... bravo guys [/sarcasm]
The FA have reallly messed it up i agree. Especially by saying they wanted an English manager then offering it to a brazilian guy. Lets not forget the Wembley fiasco either!
Maybe he's heared something about the England job, though I'd have though big Sam would be picked before Alan. Could be any number of reasons, he must have something in the bag though.
Steve McClaren, oh dear. He's already in the England set up anyway, so i doubt he'll make any big changes to the team. One thing i do pray for, is that he makes someone else captain, such as Frank Lampard or John Terry.
Both Chelsea players , what about, Gary Neville . I don't think Frank's a captaqin just yet, Terry, maybe, but Beckham's not really been bad as a captain, I just think people like to hate him.
I don't think Beckham should be captain. He doesn't always give 100% (some may argue with me there) and he is not a strong leader in my opinion. He also has slight disciplinary problems.
