Next GT Sport Update Arrives July 31, Brings Four (Edit: FIVE!) New Cars

I wonder what's the sudden hype here all about with any GT games being released as launch titles. The only thing I can think of is the release of PS5 and GT7, both of which are possibly a few years from now.

I thought the rumor mill had the PS5 1-2 years away. Typically PD is telling us another year till the next GT title when it's already 1-2 years late. I have not heard a release date for the next GT title so by my math its 1 year from now if PD makes the announcement of a new GT title plus the 2-3 years late which is typical of PD means we are 3-4 years away minimum from getting our hands on the next GT. I dont think PS4 has the staying power to wait for PD to finish the next GT to make it a release title.

Late 2020 is the realistic window for the next GT. But unlike the mistake made last gen with GT6 releasing on PS3. You will not see the next GT released on PS4.

Given GT7 will be a PS5 title the first opportunity we hear about it is at the PS5 reveal. So it’s quite feasible GT7 is a launch window PS5 title coming in late 2020. Assuming there are no delays of course.

I wish Kaz would just drop the silhouettes to put an end to all these speculations. I'm hoping for more than 4 but my gut feeling is that's all we'll get. We also got 3x2 tracks last update so I feel we won't see anything new either. Ditto with rain. That will probably come after the last set of world tours to keep competitive parity (remember how long they held back the X2019?).

Personally, I hope PD would add separate Circuit Experiences for each layout of Sardgena as they are all quite different. But looking at how they did St Croix, it'll probably be just layout A :grumpy: I still don't know why they don't do CE for every track layout including reverse. It's not that hard to implement but surely will only help beginners online and pad out the offline gameplay.

December 2020 a new GT game :).
But the PS5 doesn't even have a definite release date yet, unless PD chooses to release it for the aging PS4, otherwise.

Well, for now, everybody must wait.

In the meantime, people will have to stick with playing GT Sport and enjoy whatever each monthly update may come with in the next months.

And speaking of release dates for GT titles, I'm not sure but I've first known GT Sport was announced for the PS4 as early as 2013 or 2014. I thought it would come out in 2016 but much to anyone's dismay, it just came out almost two years ago.

So, with regards to your observation, yes. PD often seems to release a new GT title longer than what their respective announcements suggest and because of that, it becomes considered as late.

I wouldn't be too optimistic with December 2020. PD loves to disappoint and you just have to get the feeling if they rushed to release it, GT7 would be yet another released WIP.

I'm good at believing the PS5 would come out late next year but the next GT would probably follow the year after.
It will be a very big disappointment and a disaster if that happen to GT7 a year after PS5 launch, but I can see light at the end of the tunnel for GT7 release the same time as PS5.

Well, if that's the case, then I suppose there's no one else to blame but PD.

Yeah my bet is that Sardegna A will get a circuit experience for sure. B is a possibility that I would put at 50/50. C will almost certainly not have a circuit experience.

I hope it’s not B as it’s the worst of the 3, IMO.

Since Nations was at A, I’m banking on that as well.

Were the multiple track Circuit Experience tracks due to the introduction of those tracks? Not like we were introduced to each Sardegna layout in separate updates.

PS5 first half next year. In time for the Olympics for streaming at 8K reasons. GT7? At least one year later. At best.

Save from the Circuit Experience debate I think we get off topic here now.

Opened a thread expecting new info or interesting on topic debates only to waste time on doomposting.

I don't mind if the MX-5 is Gr.X. Even though the S-FR(as a reference) is Nclass, I prefer the MX-5 not share the same fate. Looks like the MX-5 will come in multiple colors. The dark green was in previous games. If its color palette is varied like the FT-1500, Red Bull and kart, Custom Race One Makes will be cool.

Not just that. We have all Willow Springs, Nurb(excluding the TT circuit), Tokyo, Dragon Trail CE. I feel we'll get Sardegna A as well.

All of your examples are separate circuits with no shared parts. For example, Gardens doesn't connect to Seaside, Nurb GP doesn't share any track with Nordschleife (not including the 24hr layout).

Only one Sardegna Road Course layout will be in the circuit experience. Just like Sainte Croix

Nord connects to the GP circuit. Yes? PLus, I'm not sayiong multiple ciruits will be for Sardegna.
