I used to defend Peyton Manning to death... but now, I can't defend him anymore... he plays small on playoffs... period... 👎

So I suppose Tom Brady plays small in the playoffs too now since his team lost worse to the same team that the Broncos lost to?

Broncos put up 21 offensive points against the Ravens. New England put up 13. Broncos defense gave up 35 points in regulation, New England gave up 28.

Tell me again that the Broncos lost because of Peyton Manning. Tell me again how the outcome in the post season has to do entirely with the quarterback. Let me hear your argue that Flacco, who has never won a superbowl, is a better quarterback in the post season that superbowl MVPs Tom Brady and Peyton Manning because his team won and theirs didn't.

Football is a team sport. I know everyone wants to pretend that the quarterback is capable of winning games by himself, but that's just not how the game works (and I wouldn't watch it if it did).

LOL... I don't even... I haven't said anything yet...

You have something personal with me now??? :nervous: I was... you know... giving my point of view...

No, it's nothing personal. You were voicing an opinion which is a pet peeve of mine - which is that everything is the credit or fault of the quarterback. It's something that bothers me with almost all sportswriters, commentators, etc. So if it seems like there's pent up frustration, that's why.

Ohh :embarrassed:... I see...

Well, I wasn't about to coment about tha Ravens / Patriots game... but the Falcons/ Niners... Everybody is hyped up because Ray Lewis will get the chance to be Champion once again in his final game, but I think everybody (or at least a vast majority) has forgotten that Tony González, another future HOF player, has probably lost his last train to a ring... and that sucks, a lot... :guilty:

Danoff
Heh, no, the opinion is a pet peeve.

I totally understand where you're coming from, I think it's the same in all sports though, in hockey the goalie is either the hero or the goat, in baseball it's the starting pitcher, etc etc. I agree that it's ridiculous, I've heard people argue that Eli Manning is better than Peyton because he has 2 rings (which admittedly is closer than claiming Flacco is better), the sports media likes to pin team wins on the arguably most important position, whether or not they truly "caused" the loss.

If the Broncos secondary wasn't completely inept in the 4th quarter, we're talking about how exciting the Brady-Manning game was.

Superbowl!!! Go 49ers!!! I am so stoked.

The last time the 49ers won the Superbowl was on my birthday in 1995. :sly:

There are a few people in this world I absolutely can't stand... Ray Lewis is one of them... I hope Frank Gore runs through him or something... I'm sick of hearing about how much the media loves him.

And I'm pretty sure (Ravens and 9ers fans included) don't give a rats ass about all the harbowl back stories... Sure talk about here and there maybe a LITTLE... But it doesn't need to be the main theme because when its all said and done.. They AREN'T playing.

Go 9ers =)

I'm rooting for the Ravens so I can shove it in a co-workers face. He picked the 49ers in the pre-season and hasn't shut up since, even though nobody doubted him.

Too late for that. He's close enough to claim genius even if they come up short in the Superbowl. He'll just wax poetic about how close he came to getting the pick right rather than waxing poetic about how he got the pick right.

Not that that was a tough pick. Lots of people had the 9ers on their radar for the superbowl. I'd be more impressed with picking the ravens - and forget pre-season, I'd be impressed if someone picked the ravens after the wild-card round of the playoffs just to even make it to the superbowl. In otherwords, I'd be impressed with anyone who had the ravens beating the Broncos AND Patriots.

I just want Ray Lewis to win another won so he can go back to stabbing people for great justice.

It's kinda funny that with Michael Vick it's still all "dogfighting dogfighting dogfightning", but Lewis was involved in a murder and it gets brushed under the rug.

Oh don't you know, people care more about animals then they do humans for whatever reason.

NFL had to let Vick back in after Lewis and Little (and eventually Stallworth) were let back in. Otherwise there's an ethical problem.

Go check Lewis and Vick's wikipedia pages. Vick's mentions dogfighting literally in the second sentence, and for Lewis he gets a sentence later on in his opening paragraph and then they don't mention it until far down the page.

Not to mention all the bull about him being a follower of God and a leader of men. Yeah I don't think the Bible likes it if you're having six kids from four different wives.

I'm so sick of Ray Lewis and his Hall of Fame speech could very well reach Shannon Sharpe levels of horrible.

Im taking the one season wonder in kapernick and the Niners over the murderer ray lewis (god so sick of his "act"). Either way boringgg Super Bowl

THIS JUST IN... I read that Sean Payton was reinstated as head coach of the New Orleans Saints. His suspension was lifted. Any thoughts on this reinstatement?

The Saints must be trying to erase the past season from their memories. Pretend that Sean Payton had never left...

He is about as innocent as Bellicheat.

If you're good at sports or singing, all is forgiven. Unless you kill some dogs. I'll vomit at the reaction if they win the Superbowl. The media will go on and on about how he went out with glory, he'll go on and on about how God graced him with a Superbowl victory, he'll start crying for sweet baby Jesus, everyone will talk on and on about "how much he's done for Baltimore", and he'll be the biggest American hero of all time.

He's now going to strap on a jet pack, and find Han Solo. The Times Picayune also said the new team helmets might be different, too.

Murderer or not, the courts found him not guilty, and he paid blood money to the victim's family.

We'll just have to let it go, just like for OJ.:indiff:

The jokes on the other hand can stay.:)
