Cross as level 6! Great idea.

EA please see this thread...

How about those Choppers thrwing exploding barrels on the street like in NFS: HP 2? :D
That's a great idea. I remember playing NFSHP2 with my Mclaren F1 LM NFS Edition in a endurance Hot Pursuit race I made on single player that the chopper keeps on throwing exploding barrels until my car stops but guess what after 5 to 8 hits, my F1 LM NFS keeps on moving while the AI opponents just get bombarded by cops. If they do feature choppers with exploding barrels, UG3 must have armor enhancing upgrades.

I like the wishlists folks, but these are not expectations!
True. I think the heat level is likely though, as it's the same combo NFS used from Most Wanted to Undercover (With minor changes).

Basically we all have two different expectations, a pessimistic one and an optimistic one. The pessimistic one is that the overall theme of the game is going to be gimmicky and cater to the masses, with unending DLC and microtransactions, with a soundtrack ripped straight from the charts, and some feature that is ultimately useless to core fans (e.g. uploading a reaction shot of your opponent's paint jobs to gain reputation or some other risible social network feature.) that EA will continue to develop the game around, and the optimistic expectation is that EA would have actually done their homework and gone back to the early Underground games to see what made them so great, and then just give us more of the same.

That is pretty much what everyone's expectations are, yes.

They had 2 years to develop the game, they said they listened what the fans want (which is very easy with "we want NFS Underground/Most Wanted" as the top comments of every facebook post) and that they are going back to the roots. I could imagine a little mix of Underground/Most wanted. Basically Tuning/Event system like in U2 and Police chases from MW, they were both open world. I'd really like to see the different events for different car classes like in U2. They had a great mixture. The bad part is, it's still EA which means lots of DLC. As for a story line, something very simple like Underground1/2/MW/Carbon would be enough for me but I expect that's the part where they come with something brand new.

I would like a simple story like MW/Carbon with those amazing FMV sequences.

If Ghost is sticking with locked 30 FPS again (on PC), then I want it to be an OPTIMIZED FPS limit. No more of the "The game hits 30 in half the map but the other half, good luck" crap.

I just hope it's playable with a controller. Shift 2 was the first NFS game I bought on PS3 (owned the majority of the early titles for PS2) and I found it terrible to play. It has a really weird, almost delayed response feeling which I tried getting used to but eventually gave up.

Considering it's main market is consoles, I'd say it will be playable with a controller. NFS Rivals wasn't too bad, apart from the controls not responding every once in a while...

Edit: My 5,000th post!

Honestly if Driveclub can hold to a locked 30 with all sort of weather magic and graphical wizardy, NFS should damn well do the same.

Low...

My expectations for the new NFS are low.
Among the first things i asked/begged was "to not to suck".
Now i'm second guessing that, you can't possibly be serious on the always online thing.
How is that even possible that every idea they come up is a terrible one? i'm astounded.

I mostly play online anyways, so it's not a complete sign of the game's quality or lack thereof. But NFS has disappointed one iteration after the other ever since the PS2 era. So I'm attempting to not get my hopes up, so when they do get things right. It will be a welcomed surprise. And if it's the same bs they've been doing, it won't come as such a disappointment.

Eh, who am I kidding? Deep down inside... I'm really hoping they get this right.

What I'm expecting:
  • Drifting competitions with a points system.
  • Drag Racing.
  • Street racing.
  • Cop chases (getaway chases after and during races).
  • Cinematic events throughout.
  • MMO racing
  • Shortcuts

Tempered expectations:

  • A decent livery editor (notice how none of the vehicles in the preview had vinyls, and only one screenshot was shown of a vehicle with stickers).
  • Auctioning (Where one can sell created rides for a price. Also dependent on the livery editor and tuning options present in-game)
  • Decent drift physics (preferably with a TC button and/or different tire grades so you can drift freely as you please while cruising the streets of L.A.).
  • Exotics/Sports cars (wouldn't hurt to have some Lamborghinis, Vipers, Ferraris, Aston Martins, Mercedes, BMWs, etc to go alongside some iconic tuners like the Supra, Skyline, RX-7, GTO Twin Turbo/3000 GT, GTR, Evo, WRX, etc. It is L.A. after all...)
  • A replay/photo mode (with customization supposedly being emphasized, it's time EA included these. More of a wish than an expectation).
  • Wheel/Rim customization
  • Drag racing (I'm half and half on if it'll return. Hopefully it'll be like UG2 or better. With 2 to 8 player track variations. (Train yards, highways, industrial, docks, streets, etc.)
  • A garage (allowing you to save multiple vehicles. Including multiple variations of the same vehicle, if you'd like. Another wish, honestly).
  • Pink Slip racing (I can see alot of anger in this, if losers disconnect to avoid losing their rides, or if winners disconnect because of a server/internet/online issue and lose their rides unfairly).
There. My expectations for a great NFS.

I want underground to be able to switch to sim physics, free roaming night racer by night to polish the drivers ability and to test out the car and then head out to racetrack to do a trackday or race.. would be sweeeeet :P

they should take e tuning/customisation a bit further and let us build our own cars too, what was the game called that let you do it, not mechanic but a similar game...

Imagine that...

I want, I want it noooooow :P Like a baby crying in a toy store :P

My expectations:

  • If you get caught by the cops, there will be NO IMPOUND STRIKES (like in MW and Carbon)
  • Pink Slips after you beat a boss, selecting cards. From cash to even winning their car (Similar to MW and Carbon)
  • The ability to play online and offline when you want to (EVEN THOUGH, EA said Always Online)
  • Exotic Cars (There was a newer Porsche 911, a BMW M4, and a Lamborghini Huracan in the E3 Trailer)
  • The ability to customize cars other than tuners. Especially, exotics.
  • The option to turn cops on/off when playing online
  • Have the ability to increase the number of possible players that can be in one lobby from 6 players to 8 players
