NFS Glitches

I just don't get it. My game file isn't corrupted, my PS2 works fine, and the disc hasn't got a scratch on it. But when I finish racing Razor the game freezes. I tried a purchased ca twice, and a won car once. For some reason it will not let me finish career mode, and I just don't get it.

I want my damn M3 back, though, so I think I'll take a little trip to Blockbuster tomorrow.

:grumpy:

Yeah, its a common glitch in MW. Maybe just the disc - perhaps the games manufacturered during a specific timeframe has this problem.

ok so you've beaten a boss, right? so now you have to pick a couple of reward cards, right? so pick th second and fourth(in that order)! you'll get an extra impound strike and the pink slip for the boss car(which means easier gameplay later on).

The markers for pink slips are random. Sometimes it's the middle one, sometimes its the first one, and other times it could be the last "?" marker.

yes, but thats for teh normal carbon. the COLLECTORS EDITION is random. BTW the next NFS i've heard is NFS:Alloy. just va rumor. one glitch i found is that with the cop car unlockables, the civic cruiser counts as a tier 3 tuner, yet it acts EXACTLY like a muscle, the SUV counts as muscle, yet handles like exotic, and interceptor and cross corvette count as exotic, yet handle like tuner... WTF IS WRONG WITH CARBON?!?! also, i've unlocked the dumptruck, but the game freezes everytime i try to drive it. i drove it once in an 8 lap drift(67,000,000 pts!!) and that was the only time i drove it.
[EDIT] Aaand, right now some mofo is bashing something outside my house that is freaking me OUT!

I've also noticed a funny incongruety to the rap sheet:
Taz holds 1st place for a single pursuit in both damaged and immobilized cop cars, 50 of each in one puruit. Yet he's in last place for total police involvment, with a record 4 cars in one pursuit... which doesn't add up.
How can one damage and destroy 50 police vehicles in one pursuit, if one has never had more than 4 involved in a single chase???:odd:

Taz must of got ahold of a rpg and blew up a police car lot...

I don't remember how it got sideways (I think it was because it was FWD), but you have to trick the game into driving the car off of the dyno. That was the only FWD car I was able to do it with. All of the other ones gets stuck. The real funny part is that the dyno rollers still spin even if the car isn't on them.

My personal favorite is in MW where if you hit a pursuit breaker and if there is a police car next to you or any object you can knock over (such as random objects, gates,) right after watching the little animation when it falls, if you try to ram into that object you will move right through it. If you don't get what i mean, lure a police car into the first police station in a gated area and slowly drive up to and destroy the big antenna that takes the cop out. Leave the station through the gated area and you will drive right through it without disturbing it in any way. If you can't read this, I'll make a video.
BTW:
Camaro SS
WTF IS WRONG WITH CARBON?!?!
Two words. Carbon sucks.

@ Toronado, Im gonna try that now :)

Bigdaddy, I dont get what you mean lol

Oooh found another glitch :D

On NFSU2, go take a Sentra and put a MANTIS WB kit on. Then you can see straight through the car's vents :odd:

That happens on quite a few of the wide body kits. There was one (I'll look tommorow) that allows you to see through the entire car.

I guess I'll post a video then.
Another thing, sometimes in the Carbon customise menu (when it was working ), if you move around on parts, when th game re-loads itself the car body dissapears and you only see the chassis and the brakes and disks. It only lasts for a few seconds. Also on the hydrolics glitch:

ProStreet Glitch:

Enter the UNLOCKALLTHINGS code and exit out to the main screen. Return to Career and 4 new cars will be in your garage (240SX, Chevy Cobalt SS, New Pontiac GTO, and Viper SRT-10). SELL THEM, and this gives you cash, wich is what you'll gain easily with this glitch. Save the game and then Reset. You sill have your money. You can repeat this over and over again!

In ProStreet, the stat sheet of any given car gives you a power figure, a weight figure, and a power:weight ratio that implies over twice as much power than is present.

Though, that power figure is odd as well; It is lower on racee starting grids than in the garage.

By the beginning of this thread, it seems that the glitches of NFS games get duller and duller over time.

EDIT: and, there are loading times in customization portions of the menu that make portions of the car vanish for an instant.

Also, when beginning drag races, I've noticed my rear wheel takes on a rainbowish disposition.

Finally, the wheel that begins as a solid disk and can be autosculpted into something totally different (long description, but oh well) is see-through if you manage to see it's reverse angle.

I found one in Carbon when I restarted the race becuase I messed it up the first time. When I restarted the starting grid was messed up. My car and the car in front of me were facing in the right direction, but the two cars on the right decided they wanted to start the race sideways. So there they sat with their front ends facing the sidewalk, but the race started fine though, the weirdo's just had to turn around!

Major bump, sorry, but to clutter this forum less I'm reviving this thread. Here I go:

NFS Underground 2:

Free roam, Jackson Heights, there is a small corner of road you can see on the minimap that you can't access at all. When someone trainered their way up to see over the vegetation in a YouTube video, there was nothing there.

NFS Carbon:

Career tutorial:
When Nikki asks you to use your crew member ability and you're too far ahead, you won't be able to but she keeps asking you to use it (she should eventually catch up).
Nikki was entering Scout mode and hit a wall, and after I pulled ahead for a few seconds (I was taking the track full speed), the screen faded with a "Restarting..." message and the entire tutorial restarted. Not necessarily a glitch, but (not) cool nonetheless.

Silver Canyon Drift challenge from the challenge series:
I hit a solid wall hard and managed to flip my car, and holding acceleration and left, well, I'd love to say "see for yourself" but I didn't have the means to record it, so, basically, the car freaked out and did cartwheels and somersaults and breakdancing for a few seconds before the game decided I was upside down for a few seconds and needed resetting. This might be one reason why city drift only exists on the PC version.

Career Free Roam:
I did a free roam challenge against some other racer for the first time on the save file, and the reward card popup notification thing didn't appear. When I did it a second time, the popup appeared. The fifth one was counted right, though.
Sometimes, when you just run about in a pursuit, the police 'give up' and you have to find a roadblock to sit next to and wait for the backup to arrive if you want to keep the pursuit going. (this at least happens on heat 4, gonna be a while before I can try heat 5).

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(...) I've noticed that if you hit a cop in a roadblock just right, every once in a while, nothing happens. Your car will continue its course and speed unaffected, and the cop doesn't move. You simply drives through him, as if he weren't actually there there. (...)
I got that on NFS Carbon but it was on a crash highlight thing (I didn't hit a roadblock, just a couple of stationary Police Interceptors, unless there's another glitch with incomplete roadblocks) during one of the challenges of the Challenge Series. Another few times I hit the roadblock normally but the highlight plays with no sound effects.
Many of the highway walls in U2 will knock you out of contention of a race because the invisible wall behind the graphic juts out into the road, so if you happen to be riding the wall in that area you will hit it and be thrown accross the road. The was also an even worse problem in the original U, because it was in a spot that you always hit coming off of a turn.
That happened to me a couple times in Carbon only today, and another time I was stopped dead on the spot after hitting a wall. Over in U2 Bayview is filled with bits sticking out, which become annoying when they're too frequent.
It's official. My copy of MW does not want me to have Bull's car. I have challenged him 4 times now (and won all 4). Upon getting to the marker screen, my game has frozen 2 of the times, and the other 2 have given me no pink slip, despite a 2 out of 3 chance each time. It's kind of pissing me off.

:ouch: :grumpy: :irked: :banghead: 🤬

Edit: My game has frozen at the marker screen THREE times now. I'm pissed.

Edit 2: I have now come to a crappy conclusion: my game is glitched in such a way that picking the marker that happens to be the pink slip will freeze the game. (It has only frozen when picking a ? marker, as the upgrade makers do not glitch, and I have managed to get his other two ? markers). His car is the most expensive in the game, and is relatively slow unless I upgrade for even more money. This means that I cannot possibly get his car, and it will take a SIXTH attempt to even advance in the game. I am now incredibly pissed, and very tired.
:ouch: :grumpy: :irked: :banghead: 🤬:ouch: :grumpy: :irked: :banghead: 🤬 :indiff: :(
Hmm my copy of carbon always seemed to freeze too, so I guess it wasn't just my PS2.
My (originally my friend's, we traded) copy of U2 freezes often when loading Drift events and hidden drag events. When it doesn't, it takes an exceptionally long time to load.
(...) At least EA could have put in them "lost" cars (...)
If the game isn't saved, the game won't know you won the cars, no way around that on a PS2.
I find it stupid, how some cars that we use in the challenge series are unavailable due to them forgetting to remvoe the online reward cards for the ps2 version. So we can't get the MR2, IS300 and the Plymouth Road Runner because of that error. (...)
I looked through the list of reward cards, EA did in fact remove the online reward cards from the PS2 version, though I don't know if they reallocated the rewards to other cards or if they removed them.
My personal favorite is in MW where if you hit a pursuit breaker and if there is a police car next to you or any object you can knock over (such as random objects, gates,) right after watching the little animation when it falls, if you try to ram into that object you will move right through it. I think that's due to how the AI, that takes over during the highlight, is programmed to ignore entity collision so you don't get stuck in a corner by a dumb AI and, if you take the pursuit breaker too slow, you don't get stuck in it. Happens in Carbon, too.

NFSMW 2005 (may happen in carbon too)

Sometimes if you use crashbreaker at the same time as hitting a roadblock sometimes you get the crash cam while crashbreaker is running and after that you have full speed crashbreaker before it slows time down again.
