The only place that seems to stock the "black" edition is GAME. if thats the case i am not going to buy it, cause i cant trade there (well i can but i dont want to get ripped off).

Is it really worth the extra £12?? (normal £33, black £45!) It says the only extra bits (of interest) is
-2 cars straight off
-specialy tuned cars
-new races.

On the M3 & the camaro, does that mean you do get them normally, you just have to get them up as apposed to them being there straight away in the black version??
Specially tuned cars?? whats that mean??
New races??

let me quote myself ;)

DRIFT GOD
buy the black edition its well worth the extra $10.00 , you get 10 more cars, 3 new tracks, a bonus cd, and more.

lets say they just made the regular game and added downloadable content, those 10 cars would cost atleast $5.00 to download, and the bonus dvd isnt cheap to make so its gotta be worth $5.00.

here is all the stuff you get on black edition:

2 Exclusive Vehicles—Get behind the wheel of a ’67 Camaro, the only American classic in Need for Speed Most Wanted, and a specially-tuned BMW M3 GTR street machine right out of the box in Quick Race and Online modes.

8 Custom Rides—Eight specially-tuned rides with hand-selected body kits, spoilers, rims, roof scoops, and more are unlocked and available for you to redline in Quick Race and Online modes. Supra, Lotus Elise, Porsche 911 GT2, Mercedes-Benz SL6500, AMG, Corvette C6, Mercedes-Benz SL 500, Porsche 911 Carrera S and Corvette C6.R.

Exclusive Pursuit Challenge—Hone your cop evasion skills in this intense Pursuit Challenge that features waves of supercharged SUV cops and the most aggressive police tactics.

Three Exclusive Races—Ignite the streets in three races created specifically for the Black Edition, unlocked and available to drive right from the start.

Exclusive and Unlocked Vinyls—Personalize your ride faster than everyone else with dozens of unlocked vinyls as well as specifically-created Black Edition only designs.

Bonus DVD—Get under the hood of Need for Speed Most Wanted. Check out impressive vehicle showcases and exclusive car art gallery, or view ten Need for Speed Most Wanted movies, including a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the stunning in-game cinematics with Josie Maran. A must-have for all Need for Speed fans over the last ten years.

one of the tracks is NFS WORLD LOOP, its 16.9 miles long and only on the BLACK EDITION.

I've checked game and they only do the black edition for the PS2 as well, I wanted it for the PC, but I guess I'll just settle for the normal version.

Yeah I just picked up the black edition myself, pretty fun game. I love how the made the customization ****ty. It's really nice to know the game is "Need for Speed" again, and not "Need for Pretty Cars"

Since I never informed my mother about the Black Edition I will be getting the normal version. But I don't want the black edition anyway. 2 cars and a few other minor goodies in 3D form does not result in $10 more.

Well lets just say it looked like a 350Z in the thumb. Surely you can derice it and do something better right? ;)👍

But those 10 extra cars do you not get them up eventually anyway?? It says "straight out the tin" or whatever. Does that not just mean you get them up earlier??
Also, can you not just get the extra tuned cars yourself??
Im dont care about the dvd.

It just seems like a complete rip-off for £12. dont get me wrong of course i'd like it, but if its a choice of spending £45 at Game, or being able to trade at Gamestation and get the normal one for a few quid. I know what i'd choose.

i just beat #4 here is his car:

this is the same car but i changed the hood, wheels, paint and body kit:

here is my career gallardo:

here is a message i got about level 5 heat:

and here is info on impounding, it cost me 18,000 to get my 911 back:

when i beat #4 i unlocked the murcielago and the ford gt, the ford gt's body kits kinda make it look like a old gt40 or a ferrari (IMO):

i kept the murcielago's body stock and just painted it green and changed the wheels:

i also have a tip for you guys, your carrer garage can only hold 5 cars, so make sure you have a slot open incase you win a rivals pink slip ;)

now im pissed off !!!

i did all the stuff i was suposed to do to get to race the #2 guy, i saved my game before challenging him and then i challenged him, i had to race 3 races to beat him and then when i selected my markers the game froze !!! i redid the races 3 times and every time my game froze when i selected my markers after beating him.

I've had the US game for a few days now (not out in the UK until Friday I think). I'm not sure if I like it or not. On the one hand having the PS2 version means I have the runt of the litter, you know ugly, slightly deformed... In comparison to other formats it suffers. Still, graphics are'nt everything. So gameplay. I was quite shocked to find the speed of the game is far more hectic than NFS:U2. Again the PS2 version suffers because the frame rate often drops below 30fps when the game is trying to go full speed with 4 cars and cops chasing them. Anyway, it feels different to Underground yet similar.
I do like some of the races. And I do enjoy being chased by the "filfth" and trying to keep the pursuit going for as long as possible.
Won 5 of the first 10 "blacklist" racers. That Caymen S goes well!
Anyway, apart from gripes with the graphics, iffy collision detection and psychotic AI I think I like it...err.. ..yeah! :)

That is a good tip! Think I'll be selling my Golf GTi now!

What you talkin' bout having a five car Career garage limit? I have 7 cars in my garage now and have read on IGN forums that the limit has been upped to like 20+. I have the Black Edition on PS2. I think it would be kind of difficult to be limited to 5 cars in a garage now with Cops and Heat levels introduced(to get the heat level down it takes $1000 paint job for each Heat level(it's quick and what I do), or drive a different car).

I'm starting to get annoyed wit hthe pursuits now. After 7 minutes and 10 road blocks dodged I lose some heat by hitting a petrol station. Fine. Only after the cut scene shows it blowing up 3 cars appear right in front of me, literally inches away and burst my tyres with spikes before I can do anything. Yet before I hit the station there was no one there! I don't mind a challenge but that's not on.
It seems that there's a point when you rely more on luck than skill to progress. And I hate that in games. It makes me want to punch someone!

I guess I'll continue, but I do so with lowering enthusiasm..

That sucks, man. 👎

BTW, I was just watching an X360 video of MW and it rocks! I wish I had a good PC to play with those graphics.

ive just bought NFS most wanted on PS2, and the graphics are great (but i havent comperd them to the Xbox's) and ive got a question, do i get cash from police chases?

I bought the black edition yesterday... So far, the physics are better than the demo (thank God), but the smoke effects that were in the demo are not there anymore... I don't get it... Anyway, I'll give a full review once I'm a bit further in the game... So far I have just beaten the first guy, "Sonny"...

Are you playing the PS2 version? Mine has smoke...

After purchasing this afternoon and a few hours of play i have to say i am some what dissapointed. It may well get better, but its not got that something that the Underground & Hot Pursuit had.

I loved Hot pursuit 2, my fav ever racer. This isnt as good (so far). Plus why has knowone mentioned the horrible handling!?? The cars feel so light, its horrible. It almost spoils it.

Also i am sure this is my controller, but has anyone else (on PS2) had a problem with cars vearing slightly to the right?? When am on a straight if i dont hold the stick centre, cars vear off slightly. I didnt notice this at all when i was playing RE4 yesterday, has my controller gone funny since last night!?? Also i seem to have to press X very hard to get full power.

im up to #2 with my yellow murcialago with roja formula 1 wheels and no bodykit, wing or visual upgrades.Looks sick

I've been adjusting to the handling of the cars as I noticed that the controls seem to be really touchy. I actually had to change the controller I was using so I don't have that "vearing" issue. My original controller is noticably worn where the sticks hit the "limit", my backup is barely used. Another thing to try is to rotate both analog sticks around a few times so that they're calibrated correctly(it supposed to be done when you turn on the system before the analog lights turn on). Even then I sometimes had to do that the first time I start a race to be sure it's right. I don't really find a much of a "dead zone" on the analog sticks for MW. I do the same fix with GT4 'cause my car vears to the right if I don't. I think it has to do with the games being able to use the 900* DFP wheel since those are the ones I have this issue with. I hope this will help with the control issue. And I don't recommend using the X button for gas since I don't find the buttons to have any analog at all.

i picked up black edition today! pretty good game so far. love the police chases. at the moment i have a lexus is300, and i have only beaten Sonny so far. didn't get his car, but i did pick up a $10,000 bonus and a get out of jail free pass! what should the next car that i buy be?
