Hello all!
Sorry for the lack of posting in the past few days, work responsibilities took over again.
First of all, congrats to Fresh on his new bundle of joy!! I wish the best for both you and your family!!
The races this weekend were great fun. Some great cars and, barring the blue marshmallow incidents, great tracks too!! Mo, you were right in stating that the Supra doesn't really have a perfectly planted tune!! More like a car with ice-skates! I have to admit, though, that was my favorite!
As for the Monument Loop race that people got DCed from, at race end Shark had the fastest lap of the three of us left in the race. Something like 52.13X or the like, but it seems like you guys figured everything out anyway!
Otherwise, my apologies to Lefty in the Donnington race. We were all racing in single file for the first few laps of the race. All well matched, I must say. Approaching the final left onto the main straight, I believe end of lap three, I was following you just as closely as every other lap.
The only problem, as we were approaching the braking point, Lefty's car dissapeared from in front of me, and I saw him pop up behind me! I actually caught a glimpse of him in my rearview mirror- causing much confusion on my part.
Needless to say, I was using his car as a reference to braking points up until that lag-warp, and he wasn't there anymore! Que the missed braking point for me......que Lefty's car going back to where it was before the lag.....que me messing up Lefty's race. Granted, I don't videotape my races and have no proof of anything I'm saying, but I assure you all that I wouldn't ruin anyones race for my own interests.
Lefty, I assure you that this was by no means a loss of patience on my part. In consideration of how closely matched all our cars were the first three laps, there would be no reason for me to try some lunatic late braking maneuver on any of you. We've seen this week how lag can make us look to the other racers, just check your video! I just hope we can all enjoy great races without people jumping to any conclusions....
As for the end-of-season races, all the combos look like fun! While I don't have the DBR9 reward car, I had fun just hooning around at the back of the field in another car in this past weeks race, so I don't mind at all! I have to admit, I'm going to try like heck to get that car though, because RA is funnn!!
Looking forward to next season, too! I'll start screwing around with the cars on the list for next year, just to start getting a feel for these beasts! Looking forward to racing with you all again soon!
Matty
PS. Whew, now I'm going to go wrap my fingers in band-aids from all that typing!! Maybe some Neo...sporin......!
