Fun it was Mo I nearly switched my rear view mirror off I was under so much pressure.

Thanks I have posted them for this week. https://www.gtplanet.net:80/forum/showthread.php?t=128198#post3879350

I would like to know how long people have to race on a saturday.
I would like to add some new events like a british touring car championship, a green hell challenge ect, ect. And having points table for each. Also changing a season length to 8 weeks.
I would like your opinions on this.
Thanks.

Great ideas Jay!
I love all of them!
The only question: how long can I concentrate on one night... lol
I think one more kind of challange is good enough for me after the League races mate!

ps: I love the new combos man!

EDIT: I hate the combos... LOL Those blue things will make the races terrible..
Tonight I practiced a bit, and when I saw shark went into them and I didn't, shark saw the opposite in the same time: he didn't but I did..
I vote to forget these tracks forever after this weekend...

My laptimes after a few laps on each tracks:

Casino: 1:25
Donnington: 1:32
Loup: 43:9
Boucle:1:15

We can change the tracks If you want. Name a few.
For example Alpental, or Ambush Canyon instead of Port Boucle? or maybe London?
The Z4 is pretty good for the loop, and the Supra too for Casino. There are less possibilities to crash into those blocks.

I don't want you Jay to change your idea just because me, only if there are others who has the same opinion...

Ok will will give It till tomorrow morning to see what response we get on It.

Sorry i didn't get to race you guys. I tired but the new update was taking so long so i couldn't get in with any of the races. I tried to ask for invites but was ignored. I donno if you guys got any of my PM's on PSN but I tried to jump in the last two races. Oh well, maybe this weekend will be better.

Yes, I get a PM from you, but I tell you, it was when we finished all the races..
And after I saw your account name was flashing: online, not online, i was not enough brave to be in one lobby with you mate lol (and I was so tired too, so sorry)

Guys has You all might already noticed I haven't been to keen in playing shift lately(I started playing it since the release date back in September...) and the process that racing League involves:Upgrading a car, optimize its tune for a specific track...which I use to love, now comes like an obligation and something for which I don't have the patience anymore.:guilty:

So I probably stand out for the rest of the Season...
But it's not like all the sudden I start to hate the game,on the contrary I still enjoy it so I expect to join You guys sometime for a couple stock car racing if You allow me to.
That said I always was a fan of a British Stock car Championship like Jay mentioned and I would like to join if this idea goes ahead...
Racing with You guys has always been a pleasure that I wouldn't like to forfeit completely-👍

I'm very disapointed... we've lost one more great driver.:(
I even don't really know how will you make any new kind of challange (British Stock car Championship or Ring challange) with 4-5 drivers Jay..

I start to think this hall thing is because me somewhy.. when I found this League, there were 10-15 members, and now... well, only one driver is here from the original community.

Please tell me if there are any personal problems!:guilty:

Don't be silly Mo,it has been always a great pleasure driving with You and most of the other League members:tup:
I told You I will be available for some sporadic racing with You guys...
Specially if this British Touring car Championship goes ahead.:)

Hello gentlemen!

From the looks of it, I missed one heckuva racing weekend!! I didn't get a chance to review the videos yet, but from lap times it looks like everyone was pretty close! From the posts- it was clean racing, too!

As for the races this weekend- it looks good to me! The only problem I'm going to encounter is that I don't think I have that reward car yet! I think I'm about level 25 at the moment, I'll try my best to get up to 30 by the time the weekend comes. If not, I'll just either sit that one out, or choose an incredibly slow car just so I can clock laps behind you guys. (no points, of course- just for fun!)

As for the season changes- the more racing, the better! I'd love to have a touring car challenge because, as you guys know, I love those slower classes!

Best of luck to you all in your practicing this week. Remember.....blue marshmallows.....BAD! lol

Edit: Although I havn't raced with you yet, Arvore, I'm sad to see you missing in some races, as I've heard your a good, clean driver. I understand your view on the upgrading sequence required for some cars, though. Hey, the way I figure, we're all doing this to relax and have great fun- if you're not having as much with this game, theres always the next!! Hope to see you in some stock races in the future!

Oh well guys I think we all know that it’s just a matter of time until GT5 arrives and more than likely no one will be driving Shift for a while. I would also think that all of us here will be newbiez in the GT5 forum and it will feel like our first day of High School trying to blend in with all of those upper classmen. Of course all of the GT5p WRS competitors’ will show up already familiar with each other and they will more than likely all be new to us. The advantage us Shifters hold is our ability to drive around other drivers who are real and not AI. So it will be interesting to see the “proper perfect driving style” types having to adjust to constantly changing conditions and then try to put down blazing lap times, it will be something quite interesting.

I'm sorry to here that arvore your one of the greatest drivers and a good friend on here.

The ring challenge with be 2 laps in a stock or works car.

Thought about a sprint challenge to over the 3 sections of the ring also stock or works.

The touring car championship will be a mixed bag of cars at a set rating of perhaps 10.

We could even have set challenges like GTcup (GT2 ect) Megan cup the possibilities are endless.

All events would be set over an 8 week season.

I'm sorry to here that arvore your one of the greatest drivers and a good friend on here.

Thank for the compliments guys:embarrassed:
But it is not like I am going anywhere...always be lurking 'round here, checking out with You guys...and joining here and there for some racing.👍
Looking forward the British Championship-as long as I don't have to tune 2or 3 cars per week.

My vote is for the mixed bag of like-rated cars. I think that'd be very interesting, as long as everyone doesn't get caught up in the subtle differences in speed/handling between manufacturers.

Grand-Am racing in the US is having that problem at the moment, the Mazda RX-8 is just quicker than everything else! I'm sure one car will be a bit quicker than another, I know it won't matter to me, as just racing with you all is good enough!

Granted, I could be wrong too- as I havn't really tested how 10 rated cars from different manufacturers size up on a course. Whatcha think, guys?

As for a 'Ring series or otherwise, I'm all for it! As long as it's not in Pagani Zondas every time! :P

Thing about rated car races is that everyone will go for the fastest in that tier...

This was a 14 rated race...look for Donington with 10 rated...everyone with the stingray,etc,etc.
So if everyone ultimately will go with the same car why not stock and don't have the work to tune it?:sly:

There are some jack-asses over there in the GT5 forums, but that's fine, there are so many different users in these forums that i'm sure we can find some type of gentleman drivers out there who don't use curse words and slam you off track. perhaps with gt5 the lounges will be better as well, and then maybe people with lag problems (me) will be able to connect with a better speed. I'm still down for racing the rest of these races. I think stock cars are ok, but I'd rather have a certain tune that everyone has to follow. Limit gear ratios or something and tire pressures, then everything else is up for grabs. Can't we do something like that? Level the playing field?

"The touring car championship will be a mixed bag of cars at a set rating of perhaps 10."
Sound great! but maybe there will be big differences between the cars i think.. on 1 lap there can be 2-3 sec...
I thought you want to make a champions ship like in real life, where is 2 or 3 manufacturers (BMW, Honda, Vauxhall) with maximized engine power.. it is hard to find very similar tuned/rated cars, but the idea is great
. how do you plan this mate?

"We could even have set challenges like GTcup (GT2 ect) Megan cup the possibilities are endless."
A porsche supercup would be cool too!!:)

When will we start the new kind of races mate? perhaps this weekend?

I hoping to start all this next season to give me some time to fine tune a few things.
At the end of the day you don't have to enter every competition just the ones that suit you as each event will have a points table.
One advantage Is you'll know the line up of every event for the 8 week period.

/testing cars, upgrades, compersions, tunes, etc../

BTW, how many weekends are in this season left?

Tell you the truth Mo I've been that rapped up In other stuff I don't actually know lol.
We've had 4 meets I believe so another 2.
Yes thanks Mo.

If a more competitive season is what you are looking for then you have to race only one track per week and use stock cars as well as handicap. If close racing is what you are looking for then you have to handicap so that the slower drivers can get up to the fast drivers. If handicapping is to take place then the handicapping has to use qualifying for a ranking system. As the slow drivers start to win then they are advanced and the handicapping is reduced. The point system for the championship is also handicapped, if a racer is slow and his handicap is let’s say 1.1 then when it is a 10 rated race that racer gets to run a 11 rated car, if that racer wins and 1st is worth 10 pts. then the handicapped racer would get 9 pts.

The one race for the weekend handicapping system is more time consuming so racing multiple tracks makes it too much to handle for the promoter / organizer at least at the beginning. Maybe after the system is perfected there could be 2 tracks in a week etc.

If new blood is the sign of a healthy program then we are running a temperature. Maybe some kind of a handicapping system could let people who have never run give it a try. For the season point chasers the newbie’s are dealt with in the same way that NASCAR SPRINT runs its underclass NATION WIDE SERIES. NASCAR lets anyone run but if they don’t run the whole series then they generally don’t affect the outcome to the season and it sorts itself out.

Something to think about

Same thing Add, if you need any help with lap-time comparisons or anything else, just let me know!! It seems like it'd be a pain to equalize cars from different manufacturers.....would some type of penalty system be a good idea?

Say...Start the cars with similar upgrades.....if the (enter car name here) keeps winning races, it would receive a horsepower penalty- maybe the loss of an upgrade. It would keep receiving those until that car becomes equalized with the others. I mean, we don't have to do this within the league races, a few of us could test out a some cars ourselves.

OR....We could just do some single-make races....a la Porsche Supercup, or actually any car.....I'm easy to please- just brainstorming at work!

I wasn't aware there are only two weeks left in the league!! Time to buckle down and....practice!!

Edit: I like that idea, Lefty! The only thing that I'm wondering about is the whole 'one track per weekend' thing. Would we be running multiple races on the same track every weekend? If thats the case, I'd be up for it!! I just don't want to run only one (8-12 lap) race per weekend!

I was using the one race for the week example because of the amount of qualifying, log out adjust the car, new lobby, re-qualify, etc. would have to be done until the balance was sorted to an acceptable level.

In drag racing they have lets say a 10.40 class and no one can go faster then 10.40, that’s a different kind of handicapping.

Late jumping in here.. but for me, my absence has been because of... well..... just LOOK outside! It's summertime!

I asked Mo to do some laps of Donington GP (I forgot to mention Mo) In 10 rating cars to get an idea of how quick they are around there on stock gear ratios. So feel free to do so.
All cars must be saloon or hatch back with 2.0ltr engine.
In real life BTCC cars are loaded with ballast to even things up. And we have the 3 stages of weight reduction.
If there Is a huge variation In lap times an option Is to take advantage of this with the faster driver having the slower car. Just thinking out loud, Please do the same guys.

The ring event Is a defiante and will include stock or bonus cars.
And the GT2 cup, The season winner will choose the car for the next seasons cup.

Hey femki good to see you.
