Same as me, I will wait until I can get pass someone, not just ram them off. I can get a better race from the Public rooms. I think some are not using Pro mode either. :odd:
That's it for me, thank you all for the races, catch you another time.

I'm kind of glad that the first race at the ring had to get reset. There was a big mixup near Hatzenbach and someone ended up about 30' in the air. Me being me, I just kept on the throttle and hoped for the best, unfortunately whoever it was landed right on top of me! I was actually quite surprised that I didn't come in last on this race, thanks for driving scrappy Aldo!

Aldo, sorry about coming back on the track at Glendale right in front of you. I tried to run parallel to the track and ease on while keeping an eye on my rearview. I know there's no hard feelings, but again, apologies. Karma came back on BHGP with those barriers sitting in the middle of the road. And I was doing so well!!

I'd like to reiterate what SteveO said, I feel that everyone here tries to run their cleanest and any knocks are unintentional. However, these things do happen in simulated racing and real racing. Let's keep in mind that this is a game and there is no $20K repair bill waiting for you if someone dumps you into a barrier. Feelings can get ruffled, but we're all here for fun racing, which is exactly we had last night.

Is it just me or is there no dualshock rumble when you're side by side with someone and you make contact??

For me there has been times when I see the trading paint points add up but I never felt anything. I think that as longs as you make an attemp to run a clean race, then that is good enough for me.

It was scrappy cause I was trying to catch you up!
Its Ok about Glendale, I know there are blind spots and such :)
Karma's a 🤬 ain't she! :D

Great video HOG, it made me nervous all over again watching you close down that gap.

i tried so hard to close that gap but you were so much faster then me on the last 3 corners i would reel you in round the track until the last 3 corners then i would lose you then have to real you in all over again and then lose you and the nasty cycle just went on and on :lol: nice driving mate:tup:

:lol: yea i came up the inside to take you but should have really thought on that i was in your blind spot.

The thing that a lot of people don't realize, is how difficult it is to make a clean pass on a car with similar speed and handling. It takes planning, and watching how the other drivers approach turns. You do this very well, and it shows in the video. There were two times you carried more speed than I did into a turn and you could have tried to pass me, but both times you probably would have made contact and you backed off. There are some people who don't have that kind of patience and it's causing the same sort of issues we formed the League to get away from.

So, I'm going to take the opportunity be the hard-ass here and remind everyone, that winning is all well and good, but in this League clean racing comes first. If you can't pass someone without punting them off the track, don't pass them! This is a private League and we invite only those people who we want to race with. Don't ruin it for yourselves by driving like children, because you simply won't be invited back.

Racing incidents happen. In real racing and in gaming, but those who make a habit of it will be back racing with 12 year olds on the public servers before they know it.

End of Rant...

Just saw the video Hog and its brilliant! I bet you were loving watching me mess it up all over again
I'm still loving my Tiger striped GT-R... Sheer brilliance!
Oh, are we allowed to use the race line? I only use it so that I can add about a second to where it tells me to break... Effectively the racing line is telling me where not to break

Does that mean I should change my PSN ID comment to something other than "HOOOOON!" :)

Technically the Racing Line is a driver aid and is banned. I haven't used it yet in the League races. BUT I'll be the first to admit that for online races on tracks I'm not as familiar with, I'll turn it on.

It's actually sometimes more a hinderance than an aid, because it's often not showing you the fastest way through a corner, and I only rarely brake where it tells me to.

You know after thinking about this for several minutes I realized something... ... ... .... I have absolutely no idea what that means.

Thanks for the video HOG
now i could see how i went from 1st place to last place
i went off track, was my own fault.
rather than force my way into traffic, i just took the loss of position and tried to catch up
gtbbcnascar and i made contact a few times, wasnt sure who it was until i saw the video.
my apologies.

Has the next host been selected ?

Yea basically everyone means well and no one wants to take out another person and were all capable drivers, all we need to do is give each other a bit more room especially when coming to a corner make sure you all give each other enuf braking and turning room and there will be no pile ups.

It is hard for the guys that have a steering wheel as there is no function that allows us to look around so it would be a good idea to note which players are using steering wheels so you can make a more accurate decision when it comes to passing them.

Hey guys I was wondering, how many of you with wheels use a manual transmission. For me there are some many things going on that the last on my mind is shifting. Is there any advantage to shifting manual verses and auto?

i use manual shift but i have never learned to use automatic every time i do i find it a hindrance. if i am honest i think manual is better as you can keep it in gear longer so you can squeeze every last mph out of the car.

Also on certain sections you will find 3 or 4 corners in a row that you can only get round in 3rd gear, well with automatic you find the car shift from 3rd to 4Th then back the 3rd loosing you split seconds of time and speed, were as with a manual shift you can keep it in 3rd gear round all corners then shift to 4Th when its necessary to.

IMO i think in any racing game you play you should always throw your self in the deep end IE no assists etc etc and yes you will find you will lag behind and with some people it will feel like you never going to pick it up but trust your friend HOG you will pick it up and when you do you will see those times fall dramatically and see those podium finished come.
Its all about letting your mind sink it all in and one day it will just click and before you know it your flying thru races.

The thing I like about Shift is it lets you drive with an auto gearbox, but you can still down, or upshift with the paddle shifters. That lets you focus on the racing line, but still take advantage of engine braking and powerband when you need it.

HOG definately got my respect as he's clearly using the "H" pattern shifter in the video. 👍

That would have been nice to know:ouch:. I'll make sure I turn it off next time.

It doesn't really help except on tracks you aren't familliar with. If people find it helpful I don't have any particular objection. But I'll go along with the general consensus...

Today i did switch Auto to Manual and run couple of on line races at Nordschleife, result was obvious :grumpy: spins and 360* too much gears mixed up, ehh.

I never bother to use manual, always focus on the road and auto did the rest but from today I'm changing this bad habit. It's about time to make this hard decision but the times would improve. Only downsize that i can see is hard lesson of driving and share focus between driving and shifting gears.

But hey ! this is SHIFT 👍 give me one week and i should be ready to next Saturday race.

Also I'm finding race line much more a bad thing, once you know the track it's only slowing you down. It's Changes color to fast and instead of focusing on good line i am waiting to see red line instead of green one.

So its illegal? As I say, I've never bothered to turn it off seeing as I don't actually know where to turn it off and I usually break way after it turns red.

Manny
That was great HOG. Really well driven by you and NC. Yes, you didn't spin me. I think we touched, but then bbcnascar2 spun in front of me and I couldn't avoid him. No worries though.

I wasn't spinning out...No problem thoe.

Just a message to all my fello racers, when we race for points and someone spins me on accident, just keep going its just for fun and I'm probably out of control anyhow...lol

I looked at it again, and you're absolutely right. I drifted into you and caused the spin. Sorry about that. :ouch:

That's why we figured out 10 laps, so we could avoid bad crashes during dog fight for positions. But as i find out in last race at Brands Hatch GP some times it's hard to wait until right moment, i was 3rd and really determine to chase the leader. But that 2nd place was slowing me down, sometimes it's frustrating knowing that we loosing time waiting for opportunity to happened, but believe me, the taste of victory is the best if we could manage to clean overtake.

It could help to practice that on some track that we know, just Host the race, wait until some show up and then try to go behind that guy, not overtake him, drive close behind him, brake hard. This is great fun for me, sometimes i do that with my Shark painted Zonda. You can learn other cars weaknesses.

I took a picture of first race, but by the time I got the camera going I only got one picture in and it wasn't of the names but the cars. I came 5th I think.

Second race, I missed the best lap but got the finishing order.

Hope this helps.

Yes, that matches what I've been able to piece together. I didn't award Fastest Lap points to Group B on the first two races as I have no evidence to go by. The Fast Lap point was awarded on the third race however.

I'll post the current points tally as well as next weekend's cars and tracks in just a short while.

The current standings, group asignments and Car/Track selections are now posted on Page 1 of this thread.

Get busy practicing! :)
