What Coyotes need for next season? That key d-man and maybe replacement for Ray Whitney if he retires and maybe 1st line center. If they get those they are stacked if Smith keeps his stage or gets even better.

[Edit]: Alot of stupid things from the Yotes in game 2. Hanzal out, Doan out. The Yotes really wanted to kill Brown.

If the Rangers dont win the Stanley Cup this year then Lundqvist wont ever win Stanley Cup.

I've learned to never say never in sports... but I would absolutely love my NYR to win the cup this year!!

In 94, I was young and in school and went crazy. I can only imagine now at 33yrs old

One more time for Brodeur maybe? ;)

At least now there's such conference finals where I won't mind any of the teams winning the Cup, but if I had to support anyone, it's the Kings. Best 8th seed ever.

One man can, and his name is Smith, Mike Smith.

But he won't.

Then Brodeur could retire on a high note. But in reality, the Rangers will win that series.

Alex Semin's agent told that Semin wont sign with the Caps. Where you guys think he will go? I think Rangers, Anaheim or San Jose and maybe just maybe Detroit. Will Edmonton trade their 1st overall pick? I think they should.

Edmonton is still rebuilding and unless they get a wicked offer they shouldn't trade that away. Look at the Leafs... When your rebuilding you never trade away 1st. Now by the time Toronto's young guys develop, if they ever do, Kessel will be a non factors and an aging ok player. Could have had Seguin for that.

Semin could go anywhere with cap space. A top 6 forward is wanted by nearly everybody but I don't want him on my team. Selfish, arrogant and underperforming, the kind of guy that ruins a room. So is Ovechkin though and that's why they never did a thing in the playoffs.

Ovie is changed. Next year he will get 40-50 goals but he will play defence aswell. He is better than Crybaby.

I'd take Crosby over Ovechkin any day. Have you seen Ovechkin point totals over the last 3 years? He went from MVP and Art Ross winner to not even close to the top 10 in 3 years. I don't expect him to come close to 50 and he'd be very lucky to get 40 next season.

109 points in 72 games in 09/10 to 65 points in 78 games this year... How does a player just lose 45 points?

Ovechkin had an off year, he'll rebound next year. Though by rebound I mean 85 points. I expect him to pass the puck more, so maybe 37 goals?

He's had declining years two years running and personally I'd love to see that streak continue. I really hate his attitude and cockiness.

Looks like you haven't seen him in the Play-offs? He is alot better, i feel like he is changed man.

He's not changed. Hunter's just an old school neanderthal coach who thought he'd have a better chance to win with Jay Beagle. Another coach giving him more ice time means he'll be back to "normal". He did finish the season very strong this year, so maybe he can build on that and get back to 90+ points and 40+ goals

Saturday is going to be an absolute crazy day for me. Run around in the morning to do errands, watch the Rangers x Devils game, then the Champions League final, then go to a friend's grad school graduation party. I was going to go to the hockey game but my pops doesn't feel comfortable spending $200-300, even if I paid... and he knows it would delay us watching the CL final. So I guess I'll be at the bar for quite a few hours :P

Yes I have and no not changed. Noob is right, thankfully he's not stupid enough to whine about ice time because if he did Sutter is so old school he'd put him in the press box. Sutter is gone now though and said he won't return and I'm sure Ovechkin, Semin, and Backstrom have a lot to do with that.

Semin is not in Washington next year.

I know but I can't imagine the job had a good first impression after dealing with 3 players like that. Junior players probably require less baby sitting.

Your talking about Sutter? Im not sure but do you mean Hunter?

Well I think the thing for Hunter is that all his family still lives in Canada, and he has a successful cash cow team up here in London. You might be right that he doesn't like the personalities of OV and Semin, but ultimately it's up to him to decide where he wants to allocate ice time.

I guess where we might disagree is how we think Ovechkin should be treated. I think he really should be given similar to Sedin like treatment. A smart coach would maximize O-zone and neutral zone starts for him, he's not good defensively and at this stage in his career you can't change that. However, he's arguably still the most dynamic pure goal scorer in the game and you're not going to outscore the Rangers by playing him for 15 minutes a night with Brooks Laich. A guy like Ovechkin, you have to put him in a position to score as much as possible.
