Well guys, after some long debate with some tuners from in my area, I've decided to go with a KA24DE engine, which we all know is a step up from my current KA24E engine.
Before the flaming begins, let's just weigh this out a little.
1. The SR20 is a very powerful very potent engine. But, I don't have the 3000 grand to drop on an engine right now. Sure it's guaranteed power but I'm not going for CRAZY numbers I just want enough power to break traction and hold it there.
2. The KA24DE costs about 2500 less than the SR20, with that money I can buy a really nice turbo and I don't have to worry about AC compression, powersteering, wiring harnesses, or the gajillion other modifications that are REQUIRED to be purchased along with the SR20DET engine.
3. I'm not racing this car, so once again, I don't need 70000 hp going to the rear wheels. I only need about 400 hp, at the very most, to break traction and maybe have some fun on the highway. This ISN'T going to be a circuit car, NOR is it going to be a drag car.
As far as I can see, and as far as my car buddies can see, this is the MOST affordable engine swap available and from what we've gotten in research there is nothing wrong with it.
I stand by my decision, if it's not liked, oh well, it's not your car. You may say, oh yeah, well my SR20 can out run your KA24, so be it, you are referring to engine output in a competition where the power doesn't determine the winner, it's the skill of the driver and the balance of the car.
Thank you have a nice day.
