Looks like it's gone for good starting from late GT6 onwards, even the sample based ones use good sound.

For me, the Jaguar XKR-S is the one that stands out the most.

You're right, it's the heritage "R", but the real car has the same logo.

I saw that I think the game uses an older prototype as I was looking at the le mans pics from yesterday and the final steering wheel they use now is much smaller and rectangle shape that nixes the logo all together

Godzilla button is still intact

It does sound very very good, almost identical to the real thing! I will agree, the old PD sounds are going to be gone soon, which I'm proud about because there are terrible sounds for some of the cars!
Don't want to start an argument here but I didn't play GT6 for several weeks now and the sound of the GT-R LM in the above videos is really mediocre, still very synthetic. Maybe above GT6's average but really not that great. :indiff:

I wouldn't get to carried away about the sound. The GT-R LM Nismo sounds decent, not near DriveClub good, but the Peugeot VGT sound is truly horrendous. Before anybody says the VGT is not real, which is irrelevant, the sound of it is so synthetic and it goes near silent off throttle.

Anyway, I am excited to try the GT-R LM Nismo tomorrow but unfortunately I must endure another day in my miserable job.

Do we have confirmation yet that it's the AWD, 1200hp version?

No, not an official one at least. But from the looks of things (and by things I mean the showcase videos that people have posted here), it may be unlikely that the car will be the full 4WD version...

Wait, how so?

Could be a bad front diff setup handling all that power, god knows it's happened before.

Well, I'm just going by what I see in the videos, in no way I'm certain if it is true. Of course, it could also be a bad setup, because I do know PD has a tendency to mess those up for some new cars, as well as already existing ones.

I don't see why PD would deliberately model an inferior specification, especially since the all-FWD 2MJ was essentially a last minute bodge out of necessity.

Going on the few videos we have seen so far I reckon it is the current 2MJ all FWD configuration. There is massive front-end wheelspin on a couple of occasions which suggests there is all Godzilla's anger going to the front.

It might seem an odd thing to say but I might prefer the current configuration over the 8MJ 4WD version of 2016 as it is presently more realistic. I won't complain either way.

Not sure the motorsport world is ready for the undiluted version yet!

Well if we do have the 2MJ FWD Version then there's only one thing for me to say.

I do have one question if it's true, which GTR LM Nismo are we getting?

It's a known fact that Nissan haven't been able to get the 4wd system working for this year, but at the same time it might be easier to make it work for a game.

But my real question is, are we getting this years GTR with Front Wheel Drive only or next years GTR with 4wd capability?

Called it. :P

Considering they changed the drive model to match the current FWD only layout. I am pretty disappointed that the model is also copied off of the show car, and not 100% accurate to the current race car, and likewise hasnt had the switch to 18" front wheels modeled, still running the 16.5 at all 4 corners.

For the nerds out there, they switched to 18" fronts to get bigger brakes, and more braking surface area onto the car. When they were having issues with the Flybrid system, and decided to drop to the 2MJ class to make it to LeMans in time, that switch meant the hybrid system wasnt harvesting as much braking force as the original 8MJ model allowed for. The decision to run the 16.5" wheels, and smaller brakes, was because the Flybrid system harvesting would be great enough to offset the wear on the smaller brakes. When that wasnt the case, larger brakes had to be put onto the car, and so the custom sized 16.5" front wheels were scrapped, in favor of the standard 18" front tire.

I tried reaching out to Darren Cox directly on whether this had any knock on effect to the cars handling, but understandably (given the run up to LeMans, and all the testing they are still in the middle of), he hasnt gotten back to me on that yet. But i cant imagine it wouldnt, given the front and rear tires now have significantly different slip angles.
