Both look great. But the R89c is in my ucd now.. should i get it or wait for the R92cp? Is it even worth it? how does each of these rank with the rest of the group c cars?

thanks in advance.

I have both, I like the r92 better, I think it has more power. You need to be careful since it can have over 1000 hp and likes to spin if you use too much throttle around turns or slight bends.

thanks and you got both of the nissans from ucd? dam I want a R92.. trade? :sly:

I think the Minolta is the fastest Group C car.

Maybe the Sauber C9 but I don't think the Nissans are the best Group C.
I dont have the Sauber, but ive got the Nissan around De La Sarthe 1 sec. quicker than the Minolta. The best one depends on the track. With just a oil change, R92CP has 986bhp:tup: Definitely more of a handful though.
The R92 isn't actually group c anyway, was designed to be before the engine rules were changed

I dont have the R89 so I can't compare the two, but the R92 is worth it every cent

If you get the chance to buy the R89C then you should, but I would rather go for the R92CP personally. It was my prefered car in GT4.

I can trade you either one or both for something like matte paint. Check out my trade thread and if you can wait till march I can send you one

oh you want a matte paint for the car? I personally don't really care about the paint items.. so i'd be happy to send you that paint for a R92. I just don't feel like spending all my savings on a car.

and thanks for the input guys.

I love the R92CP more and it seems faster or more advanced because of being younger than the R89C. I would wait for the R92CP. Probably rarer too.

The R89 in my garage is 1043 HP broken in at a little over 2000 miles. My zero mile R92 with an oil change is at 1046 HP. So far I like the handling better of the R89. Put about 10 miles on the R92 comparing the two at indy and high speed ring. Both cars beat minolta and everything else in HP except my broken in C60 Hybride '05 which is just a few over the R92. Did indy 500 yesterday in the R89 with consistent lap times around 40.500 with a few sub 40s and a best lap of 39.062.

I've got the Sauber C9, the Minolta-Toyota, the R89 and the R92. I like them all, but the R92 tends to be my "go-to" for things like GT All-Stars and Dream Car Championship runs, as well as the LeMans 24 Hours. I recently picked up the Jag XJR-9, but haven't had a chance to run it yet. All of the Group C cars are just fantastic, but the R92 is my personal favorite. I've put over 12,000 miles on mine!

my R92 is an absolute rocket when driven correctly.. i got it set up so it corners like its on rails... this one and the Sauber have a pissing contest going on in my garage

i feel the R89C is better than the 92. better handling, cornering. The Hp difference isnt all that great either. Its beaten my R92 lap times almost every time, albeit by a second or 2

I like 92 much more.
Also, for some reason, when AI are using R92, it's usually the 2nd car in the race (after me of course), or maybe 3rd. But AI that are using R89 are usually 5th or 6th.
Well... at least it was like that a 2 months ago, when i played those expert/extreme series a lot, maybe it was changed with patches.

I was surprised the R92 didn't handle nearly as well. One thing I noticed though is the R89 has covered rear wheels, other than that spec wise its the same car. It must make some difference. I feel like my wheel must be unplugged taking hard turns in the R89, its so smooth.

The R92CP Race Car is better then the R89C Race Car. Also I believe the R92CP Race Car is one of the best, if not, the best car in group c.

As for me it usually is faster. I am sorry if that is not the case for the rest of you. Also I know that it can compete very well against the Minolta which most of you are claiming to be the fastest one.

By the way if the Mazda 787B is a group c car (which I believe it is) then it would (to me) be the fastest group c car. 👍

a difference of < 10 Hp should mean "slightly faster"

what about weight? i cant remember the stats. if the 92 weighs 30 or more kg less id declare it "faster"

the 787b isnt the fastest out of the bunch, thats for sure. handles and grips awesome

I am talking about fastest in lap times on a track with a couple of long straights and a fair few corners like Trail Mountain.

Also here are the stats for both the cars. Got them from HERE

R92CP Race Car '92
by Nissan (1992, Japan) LVL - 23 Price - 4,042,710 1027 BHP 900 kg 735 ft-lb Power to weight -851

R89C Race Car '89
by Nissan (1989, Japan) LVL - 23 Price - 3,463,460 954 BHP 900 kg 694 ft-lb Power to weight - 790

R92CP after upgrade can reach 1054 or above PS whereas R89C & 88CV can reach 1040PS. 88CV is lighter by 50kg, and to be honest I cannot feel it.

Of these two cars, the R92CP is faster AND better looking (PD messed up the rear of the R89C).

If I had to chose I would rather take a GT-ONE or Audi R8 instead, but definately the R92CP of these two 👍

thats quite a difference in Hp, im assuming he's entered stock values only in his list.

strange that a high rpm turbo adds a measly 20 to 30Hp on the R92
and that the R89 gains almost 90Hp

if the above is true, im curious...are restrictions to blame, or is that just the way the 92 inherently is?

Just did a check on myGranTurismo.net on the Power to weight ratio and here are the top ten (excluding X1's and the FGT)

1. Toyota 7 race car
2. Escudo dirt trail car
3. Vertigo race car
4. R89CP race car
5. 905 race car
6. Toyota Minolta
7. R89C race car
8. Pescarolo-Courage - Judd GV5 Race Car
9. Courage C60 - Peugeot Race Car
10. Bentley Speed 8

I know all these cars aren't in Group C but just thought it would be interesting to bring up. If you want me to do it with just Group C cars then let me know and give me a list of all the Group C race cars as I don't know them all. 👍

what's all the group c cars in the game anyways? i can only name the following..

r89
r92
minolta
787
jaguar xjr
sauber c9

what class are the bentley, toyota GT1, and R10 etc..? are they jus called le mans or something?
