today when I left work it was wet and I took off like I usually do....so I was sitting there with the pedal floored and i was at 6000 RPM and I wasn't moving.....so Im looking out the window and realized there was smoke pouring out of my tires and I was doing a huge burn out 10 feet from my bosses office with 10 people in the parking lot staring at me then all of a sudden my tires gripped and I rocketed foreward...it was fun!

4wd rakies are the way to go, though losing traction at speed can be un-nerving at times. Especially when the back of the car begins to sway side to side while the fronts grapple for traction at 100kph!

my average speed is usually around 120 kph....thats 80 in mph right? even on surface streets...my cruising range is between 65-80 mph my residential speeds which are supposed to be 25 are usually 45.....I have the speed bug.....and the sad thing is everyone is like hey do you speed so much and I'm like huh? I wasn't speeding, thats how I normally drive....

There may be a change of plans about next saturday Vince, I applied for a job at Foodtown out at the airport, and I went for an interview today and he said he might get back to me either next week or the week after, if he does, I'll say that I can start the Monday afterwards.

I am wondering how long you will hve your lic if you get a Skyline then dude lmao

how can they take my license if they cant catch me? eventually the cars will drop out and then they will send the helicopter but all I have to do is get to the airport where the helicopter cant enter airspace and ditch em :mischievous:

two word tho....radar detector...lol. If I had a GTR I wouldn't NEED to race....people should already KNOW I'm fast and walk up to me, pat me on the back, and give me their money and girlfriends.....ok so maybee I'm exagerating.....I expect I'll still have civic's rev their engines at me.....then I'll rev MY engine an theres no need for a race  However no matter how fast I get I will never be too stuck up to beat the crap out of a V8.

We're just keeping in GTP tradition and making mostly off topic posts. You can't change that any more than you can change time or change the tides. and all my posts have the skyline in them....just look at my sig....

This thread should be called the skylineGTR_guy/cobraboy/RazorGTR skyline fanclub because we are the only ones who participate.....

Actually in a round about way it does. either way one day Cobraboy will get his ride in the GTR and he can then make many assesments of his own. The one thing is the handling though, since I have soft rear suspension, as noted in the lauching pics it doesn't corner like it is on rails but still will out handle most of the cars on the road.

OOOOO thats only 47,184.00 USD....I figure I could import it and declare it as a race only car untill I have the money and the time to legalize it.....and meanwhile I can drive it on the street and as long as I dont get pulled over I don't have to worry. So....I wear my seatbelt, drive the speed limit, and use the plates from my honda accord and If I get pulled over I just insist it's a widebody conversion, they never check the vin # anyway.....Anyway none of the cops around here are import fans and if I do get pulled over by a cop who knows what a skyline is then he should give me a warning and let me go for having such a cool car!

Hey Vince, you been busy? You havent answered my emails yet...

Anyway, I got myself a cellphone on saturday, so if you want my number (for whatever reason..) just PM me.

Oh, and I can not be scared, so try your hardest in the GTR, then I'll form my opinions, :P

Sorry mate, I sort of had a problem and did a mass delete in the outlook boxes. Come to find out it isn't my problem but someone elses. Thought I had a worm sending emails but someone who has me in their address book has the Kleiz virus. Just need to be safe is all.

Sweet! so we on for this Sat for sure?

As far as that R34 in this thread it is a joke. It isn't 600+ hp and the NOS system isn't even working! Liberman owns that car and hired it out for the FF2 movie. It also weighs a tonne as you noted due to all the crap they put in it. In fact it still has the factory turbos in it. Shawn Morris formerally of MotoRex owned that car and it was originally black. But as you can see someone with pisspoor tastes has painted it and riced it up. There has been a lot of discussions on that car over the past 6 months.

yeah what a waste of 4 GTR's that they used making that movie....I think cobraboy has a death wish....do your worst vince, and make sure to bring some paper towells just inase theres an "accident"...lol...We'll I'd type more but this stupid cast on my arm pisses me off....i get it off in two days....i dont even know why i need an arm cast when all they did was operate on my dumb finger....

Ah, well that doesn't matter then, still on for Saturday, this Saturday right?

I saw a new Monaro at school today, NICE AS. It was either one of the ones won in Lotto, or it was stolen, you hardly ever see a car of that calibre in South Auckland, if you know what I mean.

Yes it is this Sat. I am going to swap my airflow meters with some other ones and see if it cures the problem. When it drops one of them the car will not even pull its own weight :(

I know what you mean mate!

Shhh, Typical Japanese crap, breaking down every few weeks, :P

Whats the deal in NZ with Catalyic (argh, I can't seem to be able to spell the bloody thing!) Converters? Do you have to have them, can you take them off, or take the expensive route of a high flow cat?

Not really. since they are 11 years old that isn't too bad. Any sensitive electronic metering device that can last that long isn't all that bad. It is more likely a dry solder joint than anything else so once it is determined they are the fault then I will cut them open and resolder them instead of paying $1,500 + for two new ones.

Not sure on the cats yet. There was talk about bringing that here where you are required to have one. A good high flow such as what my R came into the country with would be over $800. considering it is a 3" inlet and outlet that isn't too bad.

yeah but depending what car your using....you don't want 3 inch pipes on any car....or you could have a shop gut your existing cat and get more power that way.

True but on most turbo cars a larger exhaust sytems is better due to the extra gases spent or bled off by the turbine wheel of the turbo. Remember it is spinning at over 100,000 rpm and some as high 160,000 rpms. The gases are pressurized quite high so restrictions in exit pipe diameter will reduce power output as it puts a lot of back pressure on the turbo. This is also why when you do change the exhaust system your turbo seems to not fall off as quickly in the upper rpm range. It will also spool quicker.
