Simple thread really, how do you get the most out of the Skyline R34? Im usually not a fan of Skylines but after driving this car Im less of a fan...its unlike anything Ive tried before. What is the best way to control the rear end without tuning the car? Cant drive it like a rear wheel, cant drive it like a 4wd car, what do?

The back end loves to snap out, Im sort of getting somewhere by throwing the car in early with a little bit of steering then just letting it drift through the corner and planting the throttle like an all wheel drive car.

You just have to be patient before getting back on the throttle after the corner. It seems like an eternity at times but you just have to wait.

Front brake balance, weak CSA and no TCS.....

Don't be an 'idiot' with it ... its quite a lively car especially if you come off throttle and then stamp back on it or get a bit feisty transitioning between brakes and power and vice versa...practice and patience...it can be an animal even on sub-par (non-racing) tires all you have to be aware of is others who can't handle it he he he  traction control 1 anything more is counter productive. Don't late brake or get creative too often

Recently heard about this CSA stuff, Ill give it a crack, and silly me shouldve thought about front brake bias bhaha.

I love to drive the R34 and R32, they‘re tail happy and a blast to drive. It‘s not fast then tho
But like the others said be gentle on the throttle and also learn how weight shifting works ;)

I got up to 2nd on Brands Hatch last night someone was teleport glitching smashed me and another fast geezer off...got back to 4th from 6th on last lap

Love the skylines from GT1 onwards we used to tune them see how fast they would go against Mitsubishi GTO Supras etc on Tokyo R456 High Speed Ring or Monaco

The front brake bias helps the car stay straight going into a turn, ease the throttle out and as said, little to no tcs helps you manage that

So after a handful of daily races just then, patience is indeed key. -2 brake balance was what I went with might try -3, manage a 2:26.3

Ha... yeah it really is a lesson in patience... especially in a race when you want to get a move on and you have to sit and wait for literally a second until the thing is pointing the right direction

You'll see someone in front getting sideways...lesson in how not to drive...it looks good but its slow and takes forever to recover...smoothly does it I was only 2 secs from top 10 times on second lap out yesterday(lap time) so It's doable for mediocre drivers as I'm not using wheel its in a box upstairs somewhere

Haven't messed with brake bias yet can't hurt but I'm pretty fast already I try to avoid making too many adjustments and drive well instead...ballast front/rear weighting will help with awkward cars like this or a Porsche

True! I got overexcited in the race (in P2) and did this... even just a momentary slide lost me the race

What time did you get? Mine was a 52.9 which was 34 for the UK.

Is this today? Haven't been on sister comiung round with baby have to be social lol

I also struggled with the car at first but if you be patient and adjust your braking points to suit the car and be careful with the throttle out of corners you will be rewarded with fast times, got 2 wins with it on brands yesterday, 300 points away from SR A now....... Gonna try suzuka in an hour or two 👍

Lower the rear ride height and move the brake bias two steps to the front.

like you stole it...

I really like the R34 and R32, a bit tail happy, but the sound it makes are just lovely.
For me, I use it as a road car and "gentle" driving, 400 hp is enough for me, IM tires, stiffer suspension and no aids. Yes I could tune it to the MAX 900-something HP and RS tires, which is probably fine for Tokyo Expressway dragrace mayhem, but for my gentle Nurburgring drive, I choose the setting I said before.
Try different tires, and maybe less grippy tires at front might help to keep it more stable. Fiddling with the anti-roll bar setting might help for more stableness I think. I keep the anti-roll bar setup stock, but advise from some tuners here would be appreciated. :)

You have to push the brake balance towards the front, I dont see any way around it.

I typically drive RWD cars at +4 or 5, this one needed it all up front.

I must be missing something. I'm reading about people setting brake bias on the R34 for Suzuka. I don't know about the rest of you but it's not adjustable in my game.

You have to do it during the race in the menu

It's in the bottom right corner when on track (either qualifying or racing), scroll through using left and right D-pad buttons... Radar, Track Map, TCS etc and you will see it.

I got 2nd place twice yesterday at dally at suzuka. Love the car.

Brake bias: all in the rear.

The car likes some angels but you have to balance it and not push it over the "balanced oversteer". Balance it using the wheel and sometimes the throttle. I also push the brakes while going full throttle in some corners. Why? Initiate full boost.

Balance the car like balancing a stick or a Pringles chips package. That it: you have to create some angles to move it side do side but never let the angels be too big...

I got done yesterday at Suzuka... got a 1.28.8 something and started 6th, thought I'd put some more practice in so went back and did more qualifying until I got a 1.27.024 and next two races started 12th amid a grid of mostly A/S. Cheers for that
