If it's a production model, Pulsar is next. If it's a concept, Qashqai is next. Though since it's in Chicago and neither of those are cars for North America, Sentra makes the most sense.

Altima and Sentra both have facelifts coming up shortly, Altima first. The Sentra NISMO concept is going to be at the show anyway, so I doubt they would have that car there and then unveil a production version. My money is on Versa.

Are these selling well?

I'd say a production Sentra Nismo is the most most likely candidate.

Not likely with a facelift coming up for 17MY.
I doubt, that they are going to launch Note Nismo in the US before they do so in Europe.
Why not? You guys are getting the Pulsar Nismo and we are not so it's only fair. ;) (actually less than fair since the Note has nowhere near the power numbers.)

While you're right, I have a feeling that the market for such vehicles is bigger in Europe than it is in North America.

It's going to be a concept not production car...
Nissan
The GT-R LM NISMO, which will take on the best in the world in the race to glory at the Le Mans 24 Hours, will be the centerpiece of a performance-oriented NISMO display at the auto show – which will also include the 600-horsepower Nissan GT-R NISMO, the 370Z NISMO, JUKE NISMO and JUKE NISMO RS and two concept vehicles, the Sentra NISMO Concept and a new NISMO street concept that will debut February 12.

I don't see it being a Versa for two reasons-
1. The Versa is basically the same thing as the Note, why make a concept car if they already have a production version of it ?

2. From the article in the OP- “never-seen-before,” NISMO model . Again, the Versa is basically the same thing as the Note.

I have no idea, my best guess would be a crossover maybe the a Pathfinder.

I would be cool if they made a Nismo Quest ....

Quest is dead after 2015, it's not that.

I would find it weird to have a Nismo Pathfinder. Fingers crossed for a Nismo Maxima, even though it hasn't been officially shown (like at an auto show). Who knows...

So will Nissan end up like Mazda and back out of the minivan competition?

Leaf Nismo R? I wouldn't mind driving it if it had a VR38DETT instead of electric motors. Hey, if they can do it with a Joke-- I mean "Juke," why not a Leaf? :sly:

The Nismo idx would be wicked!!
But if it's not I hope its the Nismo Altima or Pulsar cause it would mean Australia should get it too!

Think it wouldn't be anything other than a car sold here in the US. Here are my thoughts:

  • Titan - probably not. The regular sized truck hasn't been unveiled yet, and I doubt they would Nismo-fy the Diesel.
  • Frontier - again, probably not. New truck coming in a couple years, Nismo model at the end of the current trucks life doesn't make sense.
  • Xterra - dead after '15.
  • Quest - dead after '15.
  • Juke - this one is played out with 2 models, regular and RS. Just got the '15 updates, so not this one.
  • 370Z - already done
  • GT-R - ditto.
  • Sentra - it's coming, soon but not this soon. And since they will have the '13 Nismo concept on display as well, I really don't think they would show both.
  • Versa Note - Maybe? But if the car is "not seen before" then maybe this one is excluded
  • Versa Sedan - highly doubt it.
  • Murano - see above
  • Pathfinder - ditto
  • Rogue - no...
  • Altima - 2016 facelift is coming soon, I don't think they would show the Nismo before the regular car though...
  • Maxima - This one hasn't been officially unveiled yet (New York show in April) but we've seen enough that just maybe we could see a Nismo version?
In any case, yes I work for Nissan but all of the Nismo development is done in Japan so I have not seen/heard anything so I'm just as confused as you guys.

yeah I was going to say sentra but you are right if its confirmed the concept is there too then no way its that.

out of everything listed...I have to think its the Versa Note as this is a US specific debut so I guess they could act like the JDM one didnt count.

another possibility is an RS version of the NISMO Z..but as long in the tooth as that car is.. i would be surprised

and since they debuted the Track Edition GTR there for 2014. I would say it would be the Track Edition "Engineered by NISMO" that replaces the GTR NISMO in Japan...if I didnt already have confirmation the US continue the GTR NISMO as a 2016 model

I'll put $5 on an Altima Nismo Concept.

Consider the following:
  • Toyota dropped the XSE Camry last year, and just announced a TRD version "coming soon"
  • The Altima is featured in racing trim in not only those weird "performance" commercials from 2014, but also in the most-recent Superbowl spot, giving the car more sporting credentials... Time to give us the street version?
  • Performance creep has been promised by Ford with the strong-selling Fusion as well...
  • Mazda
I dunno. It seems right. After all, the Altima is a car with a great chassis, but the wrong parts to show it off. I'd love to see one with a proper wheel/tire combo, a little more body control in the suspension, and perhaps a manual transmission. The Nismo could be it! Price it right, and if they include those kick-ass seats, I'll see what I can do.
