No more separate A-Spec & B-Spec

I don't see how having a small workforce by choice is good, or how Kaz could be so misinformed to initially announce a course creator that was 25 times bigger than it actually is (which won't be ready for release). Care to explain?

Not sure about the workforce, but I do agree that Kaz shouldn't just said it'll be 100x100 when he should have known it'll really be 20x20. It still big yes, but he should've been clear first.

The good news I can gather from that is that presumably people will stop using the size of PD's workforce as an excuse for mediocre results. But I doubt it.

(^_^)

I had no idea people would rather hold on to needlessly complicated and backwards features just for the sake of it being "unique". I'd rather something that's approaching user-friendliness, and doesn't require us to have to buy an entire car if we want the colour.

I actually like the paint chips but would like a major change made. Once a paint chip is acquired you should get unlimited uses of that color.

They should simply remove B-spec.
I like A and B Spec being combined rather than scrapping B-Spec all together. I got a lot of time out of B-Spec career while moping around the house and loved remote racing, especially with the grinder app.

Yes, this is something to like. Like in Gran Turismo 4...as engineers use to say "If something works fine...don´t change it, don´t touch it".

Hope it works exactly like that with Fast Forward as well though.

With the lack of EXP points and optional B-Spec, can we assume Bob can drive well from day 1? The beginning of B-Spec is one of the hardest parts of the game if you didn't give him an overpowered car.

Don't do this to me Spag. I love my Paint Chips. I hate and despise RGB sliders.

Please. Leave me with something guys. Please do not make GT just another driving game. Please. Please. Please.

I'd like to keep the paint chip system, but an RGB wheel is also very necessary. I think the two would work great together and everyone would be happy.

I wouldn't mind if the paint chip system stays the way it is where you need to own the car to get it, but it would also be nice if there was a paint chip selection regardless of the cars you have, and you chose a hue and choose from the thousands of colours of that hue from all the cars in the game.

Also if they're going to keep the own a car get a paint chip system, please let them be reusable. And please, please, let me see a preview of what my actual car will look like with the new paint colour before I paint it.

I would hope this time we can lock the pace of the bot. It gets annoying to constantly input the command.
As far as the paint chips, I agree they should be reuseable and previewed. We get them "free" when we sign on. Or maybe there could be an option to buy the xolour in the dealership. It pains me to spend 375, 000Cr. to get that matte black off the LF-A.

You could have the B-Spec AI do the entire thing if you wanted to. In GT5 the AI didn't have names, so it was essentially the same B-Spec driver for the entire race unless you switched back in while coming down pit lane.

You could also multiply the race speed by 3 while in B-Spec, so (for example) the 24 hour races could be done in about 8 and a half hours if you were diligent about resetting the speed to 3x (as it reverted to 1x after every pit stop).

I agree. I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would want to use it when you can drive yourself??

I use it, when I'm busy but need some cash for a car.

First, no more exprience system and now this. Thank God. Sounds like B-Spec is going to be like it was in GT4. I'm starting to get more and more confident that GT6's career mode will at least be at the same level of GT4's.

All we need is the number of events or even MORE .

Good news. I welcome the return of switching in and out during long races. Hopefully they keep the individual drivers, customization and stamina bars (though it can be refined) of GT5, but also revert back to how it was in GT4 with drivers keeping up a good pace. One of the worst things in GT5 B-spec is how the drivers slow to nearly a walking pace when you leave them alone for a bit.

Because you can't properly simulate sports car racing offline without it....

How do you figure? Actually I suppose you have a point when it comes to endurance races. Standalone B-Spec is what I don't understand, combined A/B Spec makes a bit more sense.

They should just incorporate the co-driver as a function in endurance races. It seems pointless to have the option in short races

So what news in that interview besides the lack of separate B-Spec do you find to be 'good'?

Even if he initially said 100x100, the fact that he's actually told us 2.5 months before the game that it's not that size is a refreshing dose of honesty. Seriously, a bombshell like that would have only gotten worse if it was closer to release date. I'm sure the course creator would be able to be bigger on the PS4, but for the PS3 400 square kilometers (20km*20km) is absolutely marvelous.

Now it's just WHAT we can do with those 400 square kilometers that has me worried. If it's like the ModNation Racers track editor, then sign me up. Heck, even a Trackmania-like editor with the ability to skew, morph, and scale tiles to our content would be great.

Then don't use it. Problem solved.

And if you're worried they are spending too much time on it instead of developing something that's closer to your heart - they don't need to do much at all in that respect as your b-spec drivers are just like any other AI. It's just a matter of mixing the two modes and tweaking it a little (e.g. less drop in laptimes when drivers get "cold")

You might not believe it, but some people actually like b-spec.

It all saids here from Jordan's interview with Kazunori Yamauchi!

GTP: What about B-Spec mode? Will B-Spec racing return to Gran Turismo 6? If so, how do you see its features evolving in the future?

“In GT6, we’re planning to make it so that you can just switch within the same race to make it either A-Spec or B-Spec. There won’t be separate modes for A-Spec or B-Spec racing any more, the player can just choose to have it be an A-Spec or B-Spec race. So, people who really like to drive can just keep it in A-Spec.

“Among all the users of Gran Turismo, there are some guys who really have a hard time driving themselves, but really like cars, and B-Spec will be a big part of the game for them.”

There you have it guys. Endurance racing is back the way it was since GT4. Get ready for Dec 6. :D

 :gtpflag:

I hope they don't remove the in-game save feature for endurance races because of B-Spec being put back to how it was in GT4. I don't want to melt my PS3 as Bob endures another 24hrs of le Mans. :yuck:

I just hope the online b-spec is kept around. I liked watching my friends bobs compete with mine. Just give us spec races of the same car or at least cars that aren't for sure winners!

The PS3 has no problem with being on for 24 hours or more. I've done the B-spec 24 hour races a total of 8 times, and my PS3 is still going strong.

This. Switching your PS3 on and off frequently hurts it more than leaving it on for a long period of time.
