No more separate A-Spec & B-Spec

It all saids here from Jordan's interview with Kazunori Yamauchi! GTP: What about B-Spec mode? Will B-Spec racing return to Gran Turismo 6? If so, how do you see its features evolving in the future? “In GT6, we’re planning to make it so that you can just switch within the same race to make it either A-Spec or B-Spec. There won’t be separate modes for A-Spec or B-Spec racing any more, the player can just choose to have it be an A-Spec or B-Spec race. So, people who really like to drive can just keep it in A-Spec. “Among all the users of Gran Turismo, there are some guys who really have a hard time driving themselves, but really like cars, and B-Spec will be a big part of the game for them.” Source: https://www.gtplanet.net/kazunori-yamauchi-tamir-moscovici-interview-jff-2013/ There you have it guys. Endurance racing is back the way it was since GT4. Get ready for Dec 6. :D  :gtpflag:
One of the things I've been suggesting for years. The best thing I can think of is that it improves the endurance races. You don't have to have so such undivided attention. You can catch your breath do something and still make progress, so long as your co-driver doesn't stink.

Good. Now all they need is a ton of decent license tests, events, championships, special conditions and special events/driving missions, replace the placeholder AI with a more polished AI system, and then all is well :)

I really do not care for B spec too much. Used to watch like replay when eating or even doing something on laptop. I think this is good B spec is good for watching cars go around track but most people want to simply drive.

B-spec is more than just watching the computer race. In GT4 it helped you do endurance races without pausing if you wanted a break. The one thing was it took from you a-spec points since you didn't complete the whole race yourself. But if the level system is gone from gt6, that may not be an issue.

The best thing is, it really is gone. :D

No More “Experience Points” in Gran Turismo 6

In an interview with GameInformer, Kazunori Yamauchi confirmed that Gran Turismo 5‘s controversial “Experience Points” or “XP” system will not exist in Gran Turismo 6.

GI: “Will progress online carry over to your single-player campaign in any way?”

KY: “The experience system doesn’t exist in GT6, but that system where you still receive some sort of reward for online racing is probably still going to be there.”

Jumping off of the topic just a bit, I'm quite curious about what's going to happen in GT6, as far as the online system. The tools race makers are going to get, and those online championships that PD will be hosting, as well as the clubs and leagues users will be able to form. Supposedly, this is going to be seriously cool, and I'm really looking forward to it all.

As for the topic? Rootbeer!

Haha. You can say that again T.D. 👍 That's seriously going to be a blast in GT6! I look forward to it. :D

On topic: I still feel so proud that A&B Specs are back to the "GT4 way", yes! :)

As long as B-Spec drivers can't be used in online lobbies in GT6, I'm not bothered. Can you imaging if they were? It would be worse than having all the dirty drivers we have in GT5!

They'd actually be faster than most guys online, and more predicatable..maybe we should root for it...lol..👍👍

I just wonder how much computing it would take do a few fastest laps in a car then, use the ghost as your B-spec online. Of course it would have to be a car within the specificatioms of the online room regs but, seeing how the ghost lap adjusts with traffic should be interesting.

I would like to have AI filled the the empty slots in online lobby :) Set them to max level and assign them tires with one grip level higher, should be a blast, passing them with friends.

Online race should have points given based on performance, contact, cutting, off track will reduce points given, while making clean passes, clean lap, leading, drafting, and race position gives certain points/credits at the end of the race :D

And on top of that, able to use my B spec bob to cover for me in endurance race online, we can have 6 hours, 9 hours, 12 hours, or even 24 hours online with 2 or 3 bob for each human racer, making 16 teams in one race !! Managing the race and winning would be so much fun and intense. Combine this feature with GT Mobile App, one can manage online endurance race using only bobs via phone, how cool is that.

That's a great idea:idea:💡 It could introduce a whole new aspect to the game, a Team Manager if you will, where instead of racing AI, you race real people, but as the Manager not the driver. Tremendous!!!

THIS!!!^^^ My friend and I have been talking about this for a while now. The AI could just be removed every time someone new joins and then replaced again when they leave. Full grid racing!
👍👍

I would definitely like this! (Speaking of which, there is a certain PC sim that begins with an R which will do this online.)

This would be very cool, It's a feature that I really miss in GT5. I'm used to play F1 2012 with my girlfriend just because of that: we just care to play with each other and still there are several mobile chicanes to bypass.

Exactly why I enjoyed B-Spec in GT4. Some may argue that integrating A and B spec together makes endurance races too easy, but I actually think it makes it fairer and more realistic; no driver ever does a full event on their own, they switch off with other drivers. So to be able to do a two hour stint and alternate with the A.I. is a huge motivator for me to actually complete the endurance races and 100% the game. Besides, I actually like the strategic aspect of B-spec mode. It certainly had its faults in GT5, but a deeper and more robust suite of options and commands is all B-spec needs to make it truly great.

"Advanced" routine strategies would be pretty nice. Even though the B-Spec driver was for the most part relatively competent in GT4, xe had xis trouble sections, which could have been averted if the player could, for example, assign differing levels of speed/aggression when in a certain track sector. It would be even better if the track were sub-divided and defined with more sectors, so players could assign very specific orders at a given track section.

In addition, perhaps these "Advanced" routine strategies could be used to vary the level of slack the B-Spec driver is allowed based on target position and gap to the target. For example, if I only need 5th out of 12 drivers to secure a championship, an "Advanced" strategy would decrease aggression once the B-spec driver reaches that position and has a gap of say, four seconds.

I don't know how exactly a more advanced form of B-Spec would work, but GT4 and 5's implementations aren't quite it.
