Lots of practice paid off tonight - consistant mid 2'08s were enough to get the job done - thanks to Chad and Earth for the practice time this week!

Race 2: 2nd (Frickin disastor for me Exiting T1 on the first lap my TV remote fell off the bed and managed to change the channel By the time I had gotten my TV back to video 1 I was already 18 seconds back from the leader by the first split I pushed hard to catch up, putting in consistant low 07's @ 648pp, but only made it up to 2nd and ended up about 7 seconds back of Zissou by the time the race was over 👎

It's really unfortunate because that little BS incident likely ended any hopes for me to catch up to Zissou in points. Oh well...things could be worse, to say the least

In this one me and major Milou have a nice battle until I have a lapse and .. you will see. Also, sorry for the bump on lap 1 major, i thought i braked plenty early but i guess not.



Race 2

First lap dramas with CWR in this one. Decide for yourself what happened. Then more battling with Major Milou. Then everything goes south for the last lap, big ups and lows in just one lap. You have to watch to see. This was a very good race.

I tried to get into your race to do some trackside HD video ... I am still determined to do this. I even spent time that afternoon testing good spots to shoot from and practiced my panning angles. I have been having connection problems lately and got the "failed to connect" error in the first race. For the second race, I thought that I'd be clever and give myself an advantage and I entered 5 seconds before the start time .... out-foxed myself I guess, since it entered me in a room with 1 other guy

heres a sad tale of a wasted week.
I had 2 different tunes for my F40, both gotten rom PMs from Hammy. The first one was very stable but lacked pace. the second was much hairier but also 1.5 secs faster per lap. Well, earlier in the evening I was online testing, even found myself in the Clubman race by coincident, and was quite happy with my pace, consistent 9s with a few 8s. But aftewr getting out of the way of the clubman race and watching the finish, I shut off my PS3 and went upstairs or hte hour before my first race. So, I come down, turn on my system, go online set my PP and start my race. I'm total pants. I cant even break out of the 10s. WTF? I put it off to nerves, not wanting to thro it off track. Race two starts and i'm even trying to be reclace, tossing the car everywhere trying to make time. Nuttin. Still slow. THen it hits me. When i shut off without saving the F40 returned to the "stable" tune.
So let that be a lesson for you, Dont Be Stupid!

Some Highlights of the OrangeR Races



Some thoughts about this video. Well to start its not very good or entertaining. There were only 4 cars in the races, and they were usually spread out. But the real problem was the lack of optimal viewing areas at Suzuka. At Fuji there are areas where you can view large sections of the track at the same time, therefore more cars can be in one shot for a longer period of time. At Suzuka there is no such places as the track is too twisty and windy.

Also, I am a firm believer in engines > music but my camera does not do these cars justice so I added music instead.

Why don't I have some points for the second race? After all, I was in the race. It kicked me out before it even started; it was not on purpose.

You got consolation points, I just didn't include it in the results.

I always wondered who the person was that actually bought a copy of the Days of Thunder soundtrack and now I know. I think we should take up a collection for Earth given all his hard work here so that we can buy him at least one other 8 Track to listen to. What do you guys think?

Hahaha... Perfect music.
Even though the track is not the best for this exercise and the quality is mediocre, it's an awesome video. TimeAttack was flying in that second race... At 4:30 you can see in one camera angle at the chicane, the 2 guys in front are breaking at a reasonable speed, and then comes TA comes like a lightning into the camera but still negociates the chicane with no problem.. You actually feel the speed difference on the video 👍

Yea, I was pushing as hard as hell at that point 👍 Then again, I was flat out ever since the little remote incident on the first lap You can definitely notice the entry speed difference in that one view you're referring to and also when earth was waiting at the exit of Degner 2. I definitely enjoy watching the replay footage from around the track...can't wait for GT5 when we'll be able to have some high quality replay footage though
