I only have time to write a line, as they say, and here it is:

I have dumped the back end, used full downforce, upped the auto on the gearbox to 16 and the final to 3.700 and achieved a constant T2 of 1'10.1,2,3,4,5 etc and a fastest clean T10 of : 5'39.6something.

so springs are lower in value, 11.8 i think and 10.8, dampers are 4/3 bound and 7/6 rebound, camber is 1.8 and 2.4, toe is -1 and 1, and stabilizers are 4/3
brakes 3/4
no aids of course.
its a fast car, im worried about how quick we will be going next week!

Thanks to watson for slowing down for me to take the victory in the arta!
I liked that combo, and the gears i found.

Good luck to everyone for this week, i hope to be back with a time sub!

Last poser for you:
Does anyone else find it hard keeping the car on the track round flugplatz at over 151MPH?

Good to see more and more of Dave George in the threads, keep it up Goixoye, sterling job mate, and im racing you for the lead Kent, watch out!

:irked:👍

Well VEXD,
Thanks for posting, it pushed me right back into racing and I did manage to improve. :mischievous:
Not really that much though.
Faster T1, slower T2, Same T10. :boggled:

5'39.6?? T10

-.4 on the final lap time. :mischievous:
I would say that means I nailed the final sector but it's more likely that I just didn't do it that well in the first place and my new found .4 is actually where VEXD already stands.:P

Still, I thought it would be the right thing to do by coming in and letting you all know that I didn't stop racing for the day. :D

Best of luck to everyone. :cheers:
See ya at the finish VEXD. ;)

Just finished tonight session with Kent's settings. I was beginning to become frustrated with things. One time this morning I shifted to 6 after T1 and held it through Flugplatz then blew the lap later on. I was hoping Kent's setup would allow me do this so time after time after time I blew it and was beginning to think I was in some sort of magical zone or groove this morning that I couldn't find again. So I resigned myself to 5 through Flugplatz and pulled off a decent lap (by my standards).

T01=40.632
T02=1'11.093
T03=1'37.823
T04=2'23.175
T05=2'58.716
T06=3'23.924
T07=4'09.955
T08=4'47.973
T09=5'07.576
T10=5'45.968 (-1.632)👍

So Kent's setup earns a 👍 👍 👍 . I really think there's more out there (even for me) but probably not a whole lot (1s +/-...**maybe**) but I'm at the egde of having fun with this Falken car and can't see that such a small amount of lap reduction time would be worth a couple of hours of my life...there's something else on the 'Ring I really want to try anyway :mischievous: . Besides I'll need more time than that to improve a position in the results so is it really worth it?

So I think I'm done this week...unless the Superbowl turns out to be a lopsided flop...then I might need something to do.

Later,
Ronny

i had a quick jump in the car to do some testing.
Put 80miles on it trying to hammer out some settings and came up with this:

T1: 40.265
T2: 1'10.697
T3: 1'36.761
T4: 2'22.263
T5: 2'57.258
T6: 3'22.272
T7: 4'06.932
T8: 4'44.692
T9: 5'04.273
T10: 5'41.969

the car may look like its crashed through a toothpaste factory, but holy crap its fast. color me impressed. 👍

settings:
brakes: 5/4
springs: default
ride: 96/100
bound: 3/3
rebound: 7/7
camber: 2.6/1.0
toe: 0/-2
downforce: max
gearing: 4.10 Final, Auto (13 i think... can't remember ATM. whatever makes 6th .650-ish)

shift @ 6500 and only use 2nd gear if you go below 60mph
top speed is ~185mph

@vex : i'm with you on that problem in flugplatz.
i'm still trying to tune some of the 4WD understeer out of the car.
it pushes really bad in flugplatz and the final two corners before the Hohe straight... quite bothersome too, since if you don't get the turn-in exactly spot-on you don't need a magic 8-ball to see that the grass is in your future.

:lol:

I approve...

:lol:

Well I'm glad you liked the settings.
For the sake of being faster, I suggest you try out some of the other settings as well. 👍
Everyone seems to have their own take and judging by the "simple" bound/rebound and toe settings I have, it might be beneficial to try the other settings posted.

I don't really know though. :boggled:
I'm so happy with my settings that I've already permanantly set them to my "A" settings on the 0 mile car. :D

Btw, this car has really impressed me... I know I said it earlier but this car is awesome. I wish the R-tune and Mine's had been modeled more closely to this car than the normal road going skylines.
At 1560kg on sports tires, this car's low-slung body would have been great for "tuner" skylines. New paint and a few different bumpers... :mischievous::dopey:

Can anyone tell me if this car is real and if it is, where does it race?
Thanks :cheers:

I'm not sure if it races in a specific series but I do know it has taken part in nurburgring events: http://www.gt-eins.de/Berichte2005/24h/Nring/24hnringb.html

Edit: I believe it may have raced in this "Super Taikyu" series several years ago: http://www.advan.com/motorsports/taikyu/

Maybe the info text under the purchase screen in GT4 could yeild some more info?

Another shot of the car at Nurburgring: http://www.mynetcologne.de/~nc-schedlda/MOTORSPORT1ENG.HTM

Thanks :cheers:

Dirk Schoysman races it in the 24 hr race at the Nurburgring, it still uses the 4wd system but has the Attessa 4WS system switched off if i remember correctly and has had tweaks to the 4WD so the car drives more like a RWD.

It suffers to the Porsche GT3's a bit in the dry but is unstoppable in wet conditions, I have a dvd (as does Vexd) with some details of it, as has already been said it races in Japan also quite extensively i believe...

Been looking at the times posted so far, just awesome guys keep up the good work...

Im level with Goix at T2 and slightly quicker at T10 although not by much, think you might take me this week Ronny, I have tried Kents set up with the slightly reduced downforce and didnt find to my liking, i still stand by with his set-up being a great start point though that is tunable to personal taste. Im running a -2 toe front and rear now and a slightly higher rear as it was grounding in the replays, 9.5 and 9 springs, Kents damping seems good and camber too.

1 15 min session before work this lunchtime resulted in a near controller destroying moment where i couldnt string a good lap together culminating in the worst of all "offs" that is to lose it on the mini Karussell before T10 and on a quick lap too!! so i had to give up. Hopefully i may find a second somewhere this weekend if i manage to get some time with the PS2 although its doubtfull!!

One thing im realising with the NRS is that i clearly have a preference for near standard machines on N tyres OVERALL, i wasnt keen on S tyres and the race machines can sometimes feel almost so fast its near "arcade racer" type of feel for me, however this may be due to the fact on the nurb i like to think im as close as possible to how things might be in RL, something myself and Ronny are striving to achieve for the series finale in a few weeks.....

Finally found some time tonight. Drove about 80 km with stock settings (except height, which I lowered 7mm each side).

T10 so far: 5:48.814

I might have one shot at bettering this monday. I should have about 1 to 1.5 hours of free time before rehearsal... Rest of the weekend's allready fully planned...

Done.

T10 = 5'44.803 (-1.165)

I spent 3 hours of my life for 1s. I said I wasn't going to do this :banghead: .

Edit:
Work will once again get in the way of posting the results until probably 8-9pm on Monday. I'm really sorry. :ill:

My last session with the GTR resulted in no more time being found, although im sure i could go quicker the time/versus reward balance wasnt there!

Watched the replay of my previous best lap and decided I was not only happy with the time but also that it was great as a replay itself so sticking with it:tup:

Final T10 = 5'44.268

The GTR resulted in being one of those cars quick to get a good time out of the blocks but hard to find the last .5 for me.....and Ronny, no worries about the results, you dont exist just to serve everyone else mate.

Wow, Dave, I can't believe I'm so close to you this week. After analyzing my 2 best laps I know I left 1.220s on the track but I'll never get it as that would require a theoretical perfect lap. I'll never be able to combine all the best sectors in the same lap.

It will be interesting to see how close I was able to stay to you after T10. I expect you pulled away a little as I probably got a bit coservative not wanting to blow 3 hours of effort in the final sector. Plus I couldn't get to the 185mph that Dr Watson indicated he achieved.

At least this week you'd be able to see me in your rear view mirror (barely).

Yes Ronny this is certainly "Your" car mate! Im as usual my token xxx seconds off the quick guys...:indiff:

got a few hours in today...

best clean lap i could muster:
T1 : 40.141
T2 : 1'10.353
T3 : 1'36.249
T4 : 2'21.382
T5 : 2'56.151
T6 : 3'21.039
T7 : 4'05.474
T8 : 4'42.939
T9 : 5'02.322
T10: 5'39.570

there is at LEAST 1 second of mistakes in that lap... (i've seen 2'55.2 @ T5 + the lap above has a big mistake in T8)... but I'm done with this car, smashing into the wall infront of the Flugplatz sign 7/10 laps is too frustrating to continue.

i should probably change the oil in my real car anyway.

Race Results:

KENT (2 for 2) grabs the top spot followed very closely by DR WATSON and VEXD fills out the podium. DAVE_GEORGE, GOIXOYE, ONLYME, SOYFU, APPIE17 and ASHLEY round out the participants (in finishing order).

Well done to all for the hard work.

Thanks, but I haven't got a clue how to manipulate or create the table. My skills are limited...maybe we can get by with the word file. Does anybody have a problem viewing word? It's embarrassing but I don't even know how to create a link.

holy crap... this thing is still rolling? I though it went dead... great... LOL

well, i don't really have any time on my schedule for this anymore... but i'm glad its back up!

thats why i did it for you.
it only took me 15 min. :) 👍

Thanks "Watson." :bowdown: :cheers:

I actually expected second place to the big watson but still went through with my submission (even mentioned to the head man that I wouldn't rob anyone of a victory over).

However, it seems managed to eek out a victory. :guilty:

I've got to be honest though...
I saw 0'39.6??, 1'09.9?? T2, 1'35.5/6?? T3... All the way to 3'20.5?? T6

Things to note about that comment:
I try to never look at any times between T6 and T10.
I lost every lap with times like what's posted above.
I managed all those times on different laps. :eek:

What suprised me the most was a 1'10.3?? (high) into a 1'36.0??
That was a nice sector for sure. :sly:
However, I could never "make-good" on laps like that. :(

I'm guessing that another few days would get me down into the mid-38s at T10. :confused:

In any case, thanks for the credit and more importantly, thanks for ...
Running the show "G" and thanks for participating (everyone else).
You all did great by finishing a lap and having the will to submit when it came time to put your cards on the table.

My hat is off to all of you. :cheers:
I may have submitted the fastest time but you all are the heart of the racing. 👍 :bowdown:

I'll post a replay soon enough (need to find the time and get the old sharkport to work).
Shouldn't be long though. :sly:

Until then,
-Kent

ouch... yeah, i never saw any 1'09's... heh, and i feel your pain on the issue of smoking hot through adenaur forst then slacking off and losing it. I remember having a 39.8, 1'10.06x, 1'35.5, 2'20.xxx T4, noticing i was over a full second ahead of my ghost i decided the best course of action was to mess up bergwerk, karrusell, and pretty much all of T10, to end up behind the ghost on the straight.
most amazing thing I noticed this week is how magnified mistakes are in the faster cars... like in the lap i was talking about i remember i got the nose into bergwerk too early, had to coast for a split second, maybe dipped 5mph to slow and ended up loosing .2+ by the T5 marker.
also, if you miss the break point going into aremberg... eeesh, say goodbye to .5...
I might not get a chance to run the mclaren but if this week is an indicator of things to come... i'm fearing the last week before the Bird.

Great time Kent, i really enjoyed driving the Falken round the ring again and im looking forward to the Mclaren.

Great results everyone and good to see new names on the list of submissions:tup:

Was pleased with my result, only just held you off Ronny, that was a close one...

best regards

David
