Insert facepalm...

Outside of not being fans of trucks and SUVs... I'm not a fan of these green cars. I hate on Prius cars almost daily and the Leaf is another I don't want to catch on. If you want good fuel economy then buy a diesel or wait until diesel Li-polymer hybrids are available cuz those diesel-Li versions are expected to get you 100mpg.
Can't believe the Leaf is in this game... Makes me wonder what other crap is making it into this game.

The exhausts on this bad boy are great. Interior is kick ass as usual.
Gotta love Saleen

Yup I LOVE that exhaust. Its actually a really wild system. There are 2 exits from the mufflers. While just cruising the exhaust comes out the rear tips, but when you floor it it dumps right behind the mufflers. All controlled by vacuum. I know because I actually purchased a set of these mufflers and tail pipes from a Saleen S281 for our 67 Fastback Mustang. :sly:

Here is the set I bought for our 67 Fastback Mustang. This exhaust system is not easy to find at all.

Ugggghhhh... Nissan Leaf?! NO FREAKIN THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But I'll gladly take the 510 and the R390 :)
The 510 is okay but I really hope it isn't still the fastest drag car in-game because it really shouldn't be.

The 510 I built in Forza 3 is just... insane. I barely can tame her with controller and had just as much problems when I used a wheel. Something like 1000lb and 950hp w/AWD can do that lol. Skyline motor/drivetrain swap, lightened like madness but I haven't tuned it yet. I heard about the 510 being that quick so I built one to see. On La Sarthe it feels like I power drift each corner without feathering the throttle. lol. Shear madness to be honest :dopey:

I do want to build another one, more tamable and more like the real life 510 racing version.

I hope they've thrown out the AWD swaps. Or added a bit of a PI increase for the added grip. A 510 with ab RB26 and RWD, that's where it's at :D

Argh, a Leaf :indiff:

Oh well, they had to add an electric car, I guess. And I, personally, would't have reacted any different if it was the Volt or a Tesla or whatever. Electric cars in on a race track... Always seems to be like having a fat kid participate in the olympics.

Well if we can find a way to increase the top speed then we could have a top drag car. Especially since it has some pretty good acceleration for the first 200 meters.

That said knowing Forza, they'd let swap engines on the cars. Maybe we could fit a petrol engine in there and make it a fairly enjoyable car. It's fairly light and I bet we'll be able to swap in a RWD Drivetrain too.

Looks good man, Saleen really did a good thing with the S281, amazing car with good handling

I hope the AWD swaps remain. I don't want them to be as dominant of a force as it's in FM3 though. My Audi is quattro and the system robs like 22-24% of the power compared to the FWD Audis which rob only 7-8%. Hopefully T10 allows the AWD swaps but takes into consideration the drivetrain losses you get. An engine dynoed at 500hp puts out different wheel power depending on the drivetrain.

Yeah, for RWD, you're looking at about 12% loss, wit AWD, it's up to 25%, from what I know. The problem is, AWD gives more grip, which isn't accounted for at all. All they did was take the increased weight into consideration, so you even lost PI while increasing the actual performance.

To get this straight, having the AWD swaps is good. But I'd rather have T10 scratch them than to see them dominate again.

Also you will notice in FM3, you can have 1 car AWD and 1 RWD and the cars have both with the same weight and power the AWD will accelerate pretty much just as quick as the RWD and Im not referring to off the line. Im definitely hoping this gets fixed.

Edit: After reading my post I think I just reworded what you and cuco just said, lol

Yea, I think it's due to the lack of drivetrain loss. It wouldn't even matter if your PI increased or at least stayed the same when switching to AWD, the additional weight would've been enough of a disadvantage.

But it was possible to install weight reduction get fairly close to the car's old weight and PI at the same time, so you got the AWD for free. That's what's been causing the issues. Same can be said for cars that already came with AWD.

Silly question time but what is wrong with cars of the same power and weight accelerating the same.

I actually would have thought the AWD would maybe edge it in acceleration.

Someone please explain.

Not true always. RWD cars are a lot better off of a line than most AWD cars
Same for accelerating, but in FM3 the RWD cars spin a lot easier than in real life, while the AWD cars are rockets

Surely you are not serious.

Off the line an equally powered and similarly weighted AWD car will out preform a RWD car, for obvious reasons.

From a mid-high speed roll the same RWD car will outperform the AWD car due to loss of power at the wheels.

If you are a science nerd like I am (zoology major hence the name) http://www.physicsforums.com/showthread.php?t=222478 , you can read through this as geeks explain via scientific formulas exactly why.

Depends on a lot of factors, actually. It takes a bit of engine power to warrant AWD in the first place. As long as the engines of both cars aren't capable of breaking the traction of the rear tyres, AWD will do nothing at all.

As soon power increases, AWD cars start to get an advantage off the line - four tyres getting the power to the ground is a decent advantage off the line, and since we're talking sporty cars here, that'll be the case nine times out of ten. A rear wheel driven car has other advantages, though.

In the AWD car, the advantage lies within losing less time due to wheel spin. On the other hand, though, more power is needed to spin the drivetrain itself, which is largeer and heavier, obviously. Thus, if both cars have, say, 500BHP, it's not unlikely that the AWD car will have about ~400BHP at the wheels, while the RWD car might manage 450BHP. This, of course, means that the car will accelerate faster as soon as breaking traction is no issue anymore.

That, by the way, is the difference between Forza's "launch" stat and the "acceleration" stat.

@ HELLAFLUSH240SX,

you got your facts backwards. AWD cars are usually faster off the line but can inevitably out-accelerated in the longer run. This is pretty evident when watching standing mile races, for example.

I was literally just looking at the same thing less that 5 minutes ago.

I would say that it would definitely be an easy car to use if they have electric car races in FM4. ;)

I can only see the inclusion of electric cars in the FM series as a bonus, they will add to the excitement in lobbies. I can't see them being to hot on the leaderboards though :sly:

I wonder if we will see this car arrive in the next week or two, this is a car I would actually welcome, looks like it could be a lot of fun:)

Well, not on the 'Ring
Doubt they'll manage the full distance at race speed.

Today's arrivals

1988 Mitsubishi Starion ESI-R
1990 Lotus Carlton
1988 Lamborghini Countach LP5000 QV

Not much to talk about here
