What's that, T, two new inductees in one week, say it isn't so? It is so don't you doubt me or my words of promise and prosperity.
To make up for things going more than a little quiet over the past three weeks or so we're getting back on track with a double feature this week. It was supposed to have been one last week and another this week, but I like the way it's played out in reality as opposed to planning because that means - hey-o - double feature.
With that said, this week's inductee is perhaps just as excited about GT Sport as we all are but there's some caution in that anticipation, and on top of that he's rather modest. Welcome Ridox2JZGTE to the Member of the Fortnight madhouse!
1.You're officially among the ranks and are now the Member of the Week, so what were your thoughts going into this and how does it feel to be recognized among the hundreds of thousands of other members here?
When I received the message, I thought, what I did wrong, something bad going to happen
Then it turns out that I have been selected as member of the week. I don't know really know exactly what I feel, I haven't done much for the GTP community here other than making hybrids back in GT5 days, sharing them and in GT6, replica garage. Still, I would say honored would be the word to describe how I feel.
2. How long have you been a member here at GTPlanet and what is it that keeps you returning on a daily basis?
I joined GTP back in 2012, and have been active almost daily since then, with occasional vacation due to real life taking over.
I found GTP to be a great community, with many great members to chat with, have discussions, share experiences and knowledge as well having fun. The visual looks of the forum also gives GTP a lot of reason to come back, it's much easier on the eye than most other forum, clean yet full of features. The ease of use also makes it one of the forum that I liked most.
3. If you could recommend any one thread on the entirety of our forum, what would it be?
This is very hard question, I have some threads that I always visit and to pick one is a daunting effort. I would say, the Funny Pic thread
4. What's one thing you'd like to see changed about the Member of the Week presentation? Don't be shy...
The interview is great for getting to know the member elected, but I would also recommend to highlight something related to the member, be it the member's hobby, life story, ride, work, or thread that he/she created.
5. How did you come up with the name "Ridox2JZGTE"?
The clue is in the name, Ridox is a tuning shop founded by Max Orido, a drifter, D1GP judge, pro racing driver and journalist. The 2JZGTE is an engine code for Toyota Supra, a car which have been one of my all time favorite. Originally, I considered the RB26DETT as user name along with a tuning company name from the likes of Esprit, Mines, HKS, Top Secret, etc, but I found Ridox2JZGTE sounds cooler.
6. When you hear the word "community" what comes to mind??
Car clubs
I used to hang out with Nissan, Toyota and JDM imports enthusiasts back in Australia.
7. When it comes right down to it, do you prefer Gran Turismo or Forza Motorsport, or are you obligated to neither?
I have been stuck with PlayStation from the beginning ( PSX ) so naturally, GT was my one of my 1st console driving game. I never owned Xbox, although quite a few of my friends have and I often play Xbox when I visit them. Forza is good, some parts are better than GT, like customizations, sounds, and there are cars there that I want in GT. For me, as long as it's fun to drive, any racing game is okay, it depends on the expectations. Some racing games like PC sims, I would expect much more than console only games.
8. What's the one thing, that one feature from GTPlanet's past incarnations that you miss the most and would love to see brought back?
The life time premium membership
This is one thing that surprised me when GTP was updated last time, the premium account now is only for 1 year
9. You've just been banned. What don't you do?
Depends on the cause of the ban, if it was righteous ban, I would lurk as guest
and if it was unfair or false ban, I would contact the admin for review.
10. What would your reaction be if I told you GTPlanet was moving away from solely focusing on Gran Turismo?
No, just no
, GTP stands for Gran Turismo Planet, if GTP moves away from GT, change the name first
11. If you had to prepare a speech for this most special occasion what would you say?
I would be "speechless"
Seriously, I would say thank you to everyone who have supported my garage and existence on GTP. Especially
@danbojte who kindly have given me a premium badge
and others who have been loyal to GT series 👍
12. Where do you see GTPlanet going in the next two years?
I would like to see more from the tuning database feature, maybe easier to input template and more robust editing to tunes, similar to Projectcarssetup database site ?
I would also wish GTP gets bigger, more members and the return of lifetime membership
13. As you're undoubtedly aware, the GT Sport beta is due on the PlayStation 4 next spring. What are your thoughts on what this could mean for the GT franchise as we count down the days?
It could be anything
Right now, we don't know much about GT Sport, what direction it will take or what sort of realism it will have. If it only improves a little from GT6, it could mean bad for the franchise. The first GT title on the PS4 would need to be really good to get the momentum going as another GT should be expected. The first PS4 GT game sales number would also likely decide what Sony/PD would do in the future, and if GT Sport follows what Assetto Corsa and Pcars did, I would bet many vocal members here would be at least relieved.
What I would expect if GT Sport follows PC sims, Yokohama and KW cooperation will actually be used in the game, with realistic tire model and suspension. Now, if Kaz have been playing Assetto Corsa and Pcars at home, I'm sure he had some pointers and goals to set for GT Sport
