I've had some good races in the practice lobbies, one were everyone no stopped and one were everyone stopped, I suspect no stopping in a stoppers race will be a bit boring...but you will win by about 4secs :)

Qualified 4th, finished 5th, 6 seconds off the lead but 11 seconds ahead of 6th. I misjudged the amount I put in during my (lap 7) stop which probably done me in the end. I would've had a better chance at pairing up with someone for a slipstream if I'd been in a bit longer, which I suppose is the worry. I didn't really know what I was doing with the fuel settings, they were all over the place.

Still, 723 which is my first half-respectable score in the championship, so that's something.

Qualified 1st, didn’t stop, the only one who tried it in my lobby. got caught with 2 turns to go, ran out of fuel with a about 20m to go. Strategy nearly paid off.

Oh boy. That was tough, but I feel alright with the results. S3F7, bagged 1200+ points.

Most of the lobby did a 1-stop, and I was one of the few that went no-stop.
It was okay, until lap 6, T3. I get sandwiched, and start to lose grip. Someone from behind hits me, making me go on a full slide. I BARELY save it.

I continue along, now that I have to catch up. I catch up to 3rd, but near the end, the whole pack has caught up to me again (they're likely running FM1-2) and pass me.

However, at the last stretch, multiple collisions happen in front of me, and I manage to slip by from 10th to 7th place.

No idea what happened at the last corner/final straight there, I went from about 8th to 5th as well. I drove flat out, map 1, not short shifting at all all race, but I think I was one of the only ones who didn’t take tires on my pit stop. So I leap frogged a few people out of the pits and was in 2nd place out of the stoppers, but I was dropping like a stone once the rest of them caught me, only that last corner action let me get a decent finish

I saved the replay and is on my GTSport profile, if you want to see it.
Apparently someone didn't see the other player on the radar, so they assumed it was free to move over. Then that's when the carnage happened. Someone else runs out of fuel as well and they get hit.

Yeah if you took tires, you'd be far behind,in my opinion. The car does get slidey near the end, but it's still manageable.

Here's my video from the race!

Circuit de la Sarthe for the next one. Ugh. Not a fan of that track either. Going to be interesting to see how this one pans out. I may just go for that haul booty and pit once strategy.

Just had the "nearly" perfect race in Supra Cup on Blue Moon. A must see on how to perform an oval race.
Startet from 19th in an A+ Lobby (average 60.000 DR-Points) and made it to 2nd place in the end, only beaten by 15/1000 of a second.
With a better exit on the last corner maybe i would have won but I´m still happy about 2365 championship points. :)👍

I managed to get a 2nd place on Blue Moon this Saturday.
I qualified 6th and kept up with the other 5 in the lead until the pit stop.

That's when I saw that, by short-shifting, I had saved nearly 10% of fuel compared to the other drivers.👍

I exited the pits in the lead but with someone on my tail, who eventually punted me in one of the turns to pass me...:banghead:
In the very last corner, some of the guys in front desperately tried to pass and caused a 3 cars crash ... Allowing me to claim back 2nd. :gtpflag:

Loved it, I can't wait for the next rounds.

Here's my video from the race!

We've raced together before I believe. What Regional place are you in? I got caught way out on that Blue Moon race, pitted following some guys from the leaderboard and has a dismal finish. All the top guys stayed out in our race...Turismo-Lester, Groove, couple AMS guys, etc. I had the 5th fastest lap in the region going in, but strategy f'd me.

Need to figure out this tire degradation and fuel strategy ahead of time, but doing it solo seems difficult. Need to be in a room with multiple cars in the lobby to do testing. This La Sarthe race is coming...need a good showing.

We were in the Catalunya race with Groove and a few AMS people!

I'm currently 24th.

Dctrburdock and I usually create some practice lobbies (usually starting on Thursday night and onwards) and try to find out a good Fuel and Tire strategy. I've also seen SileightyCyrus set up some practice lobbies as well.

Cooool....good to know. I have to get in on this and figure out how this is gonna play, because those laps are too long to get jacked on fuel or tire. Luckily I did well in race 2, so my points carried me. Race 1 at Fuji I had a great shot, qualified P4 but got speared at T1 by some yahoos in the back. I'm sitting 16th right now, but a lot of racing left to go. Last race showed me I can't wing it...gotta do more to stay in the runnin.

Awww man...I hated to do it, but I loved doin it...lol....how coincidental we were talkin and ended up neck and neck! I have about 8 laps in...gonna be a tough one. I see it says the top 2 of 4 races will now count.

Yeah, race 2 is my beat race as well. Race 3 is my second best, but won't count until later.
As for race 1... I got hit near the end of the final lap. I was not a happy camper.

If you'd like, I can message you here when one of us opens up a practice lobby.

You must have been in the same race as me, tough race. no pit worked for me, 5th place finish behind Jett Racer. Lester was the only guy that pitted that got back by me, of course he is fast as hell. Gatordaryl and I usually get a few good practice lobbies going, join us, see you on track

Definitely...please

GR Supra Cup's tag line is
"Who is the Fastest?"

more like...
..."Who can save the most Fuel?"

Yeah...given, the idea is behind the development of Supra and it's ability...I'd certainly like to see it be more about pace than these strategy implementations, which definitely favor people who put more time in. I've been GranTurismo since PS1, but these days I don't put any time in beyond what I can manage, maybe a couple hrs a week. That puts me behind on getting this strategy figured out for sure, which sucks.

All motorsport requires a little bit of strategy even if is just saving tyres. The fuel use has been interesting, all three races have been possible for a no stop, I haven’t pitted in any of these races yet. Blue moon bay was the most marginal so far. I didn’t stop and lost the lead in the last 2 corners to a guy who had pitted.

What caught me out on that one, was pitting early and simply getting out of the crowd, on a track where the draft was really going to make or break the race.

I understand fuel strategy in racing, etc...but as a one man show, it's difficult at times. It is what it is...just going to do the best my old ass can on my PVC cockpit and my CRX Si seat...lol.

To be honest these are the only sport races I’ve actually done any practice for because I like one make racing. It really has helped me, I’m dong much better than I thought. My DR is on the cusp of being an A now my graph kind of faltered for a bit but is back on the way up now
