Ughh...have to make me relive it...lol. I had zero for strategy going in. I did an initial burst to push up a few positions, then went into fuel manage, hoping to use draft to gain positions. I was doing well, but saw some key guys up front make a pit decision early and followed them, to my demise. I was doing well and then...that was it. Came out of the pit dead last, no one to draft, caught back up to like 16th or something...terrible.

How the hell did 1st place in NA's time trial get a 4:40???
Smoooooth as a baby's bottom that's how, and a lot of drive time. There is a ton of time left on there, it'd require hours of practice time though, given the length of the lap. I figured I'd get in range of everyone else and call it good until these later practices.

In 2015 GT Academy (if I recall) I ran so many damn laps of Sarthe I shaved time I never thought possible...but...

Yeah I already felt like I pushed it as far as I can for this track. Still really happy with my time, though. Currently sitting at a 4:43.

 I don't know if I should be impressed or scared. I usually get my best time about 1-3 hours into starting a practice (either for a Daily Race or for this league). But to do so many laps... Yeah I think I'd go insane haha.
I already go insane for the Daily Races and this league, so Kaz help me.

Despite having missed the first few rounds due to finals, I managed to snag my first ever Sport mode victory in the Blue Moon race...by 00.012!

The close gap was apparently the result of narrowly escaping a "brake check" attempt (?) by the car ahead of me – he was 1st but he slowed down in front of my line near the finish.

Maybe he just ran out of fuel. If you've saved the replay you could check to see what happened

^ Yep, very possible. That's what happened to FordGT at Long Beach...lateral load, car ran out of fuel and just checked up on the C7R at the exit. Jan was trying to get a run off the corner and blasted him into the wall. No penalty after IMSA checked the data.

I’m thinking of giving the next race a miss. I’m not at all competitive at Le Mans, I’m struggling to get a reasonable lap time. Is it worth racing and not doing that well and just getting any result or if I miss out the race is that worse over all?

It’s worth doing all the races, you’ll either luck out and get more points than you expected, or you won’t and your DR might be lowered enough you’ll get an easier lobby and a better opportunity for points next time.

I’m in the same boat, I enjoy Le Sarthe but I’m always really slow there

I'm giving it a go. I won't be able to do the next race, which reminds me:
Round 5 and 13 are Nurburgring 24h. Unless if your name starts with Turismo, TRL, CAR, FT, etc., the Supra on Nurb 24h is going to feel like we got an eternal punishment from the ancient Greek gods.
In other words, do this race and ask yourself if you want to do Nurb 24h.

I am looking forward to Nurburgring myself...should be mighty interesting...I wish they'd go more than 2 or 3 laps though. This race coming is going to be interesting...definitely need a practice room to figure out this fuel/tire.

Well, got a few test sessions in. I managed a 24:11 total with some hiccups and a yahoo on Racing SS's that barely beat me in 5 laps with me on SH's...lol. Seems the best I can pull thus far.

Oh dear. I threw away a vital opportunity to win today's race at Le Mans.:grumpy: I started fourth and got to second pretty quickly, staying there until I had to pit. I didn't change my tyres and had quite a gap to the guy who was leading when I came out. 2 guys, who didn't pit, were conserving fuel and I got passed both of them thinking that was it. It wasn't. On the last lap, I had the lead going into the Porsche Curves, but when I got there, the car didn't feel right. It was really, really lose and suddenly the pressure had got to me. A small error of judgement meant that I'd copped a penalty, so even though I crossed the line first, I ended up 3rd. Still, could be worse considering I haven't touched the game for over 2 weeks.

The fastest time in this is with a pit, right?
Yes and no, in practice I’ve been beaten by people who didn’t stop, when I did. But I also caught back up with a non stopper. I think it depends on how fast and consistent you are. Staying out of trouble is going to be key here.

True. Going round on my own probably isn't the best way to judge the race, but I had to stay in fuel mode 5 to make it to the end. I'm about 15 seconds a lap slower with that, and even with the long pit lane at Le Mans it's easy to make up. Good luck everyone.

Well, I wasn't as consistent as you through the final section of the track

Fancied having a go at the Le Mans race, as I quite like the track, but finally free from other commitments for the day and I see it has already ended :(

It was a miserable puntfest, and I gave up. Slow cars, long straights, chicanes. Recipe for disaster, at least in the lower leagues where I dwell.

Truly bizarre qualifying for me, where (despite a 0.5s penalty picked up after the Dunlop Bridge but before Tertre Rouge somehow) I was a solid second up on my lap and flying through the Ford Chicanes... when a car suddenly appear ghosted in front of me between the chicanes, the game registered a collision, and I got instant engine and aero damage and SR Down.

So started tenth then (no idea actually how - I was 5th right up to that moment, then crossed the line and, bam, tenth). Slowly worked up to sixth or so, largely thanks to a guy who wasn't actually getting penalties somehow battering through the guys in front then forgetting to brake for Mulsanne. Stopped on lap three for a sip of fuel, and ended up fifth because the guy who'd qualified on pole drove the last lap like an absolute cretin and picked up seven seconds of penalties, including four for nailing me at the second chicane.

Not huge points, but I'm at 2,200 and change now.

Ugh, thanks for the warning everyone, had no idea today’s race was at 4:30 instead of 5 like it usually is. So much for that, I guess.

I almost forgot about the earlier start time...

The next race and round 13 will start 30 minutes earlier, as well.
--------

Started in 7th place. I don't know why, but I was feeling really nervous about this race.
Thanks to a friend of mine, I was able to no-stop, yet have a good pace to catch up to the top people. In the end, I slightly choke and win a 0.5 second penalty. 3rd place was just behind me, so the penalty surrendered my position to him.

Still, 3rd place! First podium in this series, I'm really happy with the result. 15xx points earned.

^ Good job man...

I choked out and of all people, took dctr with me. I ended up qualifying 7th, race starts and I'm trying to figure what to do...go full bore early or lay back. I get a run onto the Mulsanne straight and dctr is in front, so I go inside to the first chicane...I just...hesitated on my routined downshift sequence and pushed a hair wide and we got a little tangled. I was super pissed at myself and hate when my **** affects someone else. Low and behold I ended like 14th or something...me and NoTime had a little end race of our own...was fun...we both picked up .500 second penalties and hit the penalty zone one car apart...I stayed in 5th, and released from the slow down with a little more speed...so I officially passed under a penalty/ghost state...lol. I was like man...that's a first...lol.

Next is Nurburgring. I actually just did really well in GR3 manufacturer on the 25hr Nurb with 4 practice laps in the car only. Qualified 2nd and finished 2nd. Hopin to have a good next race...that's all I know.

Big oof. Dctr told me about the incident. :(
I almost got taken out at the end of the first straight. The person behind me braked way too late and barely dodged me.

I won't be able to do the next round, but I'll practice a bit since it's the round 13 race as well.
