I'm running some laps now. The more you mess with the setup the worse it gets. Fun car. Should be a blast. I'm running low 12's so I should competitive tomorrow. Can't wait!

Sorry I missed you. I was planning a fiasco.

I think this is going to be a very rough and bumpy ride around the Cape:scared::crazy:

As for me I will be in the back of the bus running my 1:14's until the end:indiff:
estimated time of completion for me is around 41 mins with only two pit stops!:sly:

Hmmm? Mediums?

All I had was gold chrome. You must be a fancier driver or something to get all those chrome chips. Thanks.

Ended up with one somehow and duped about a dozen

I think i need to practice for this one. Last race my pace was 2 seconds a lap slower in the race than i was in practice....
no matter how fast i tried to go.

Welcome to today's race everyone. I'm D.B. Schmascher live at Cape Ring South. Today's race will include heart stopping excitement as these evenly matched 4 wheel drive monsters weave their way around the course and each other. Look for close pack racing to test the patience and skill of each driver. With today's tire compound choices lap times and pit strategy will prove itself to be prominent parts of race calculations equating to which drivers will be in front at the end. Good luck racers and race fans enjoy.

Passing areas for Cape Ring South

1)Turn 1: uphill hairpin at end of front straight. Be careful and mindful of traffic coming out of the pits, and remember the corner tightens up upon exit heading uphill into turn 2

2)Turn 2: it is possible to go around the outside of a car and hold your inside line heading into turn 3

3)Turn 7: medium hairpin at the top of the track. Be careful not to swing wide into the grass and try not to spin your tires as a good launch out of this corner can improve your lap times significantly

4)Turn 8: long downhill high speed right hand sweeper. use the draft but make damn sure you have position heading into turns 9 and 10!

5)Turn 11 tightest and slowest hairpin corner on the track. out brake your opponent or drive around him if you can, make sure you don't spin your tires to make the pass stick heading down the long front straight.

I'mI on now for a final shake down cruise if anyone wants to join. I'll be on for about an hour

I've actually started liking this car. Yeah, patience for sure with this little track. Hit a couple 1.11.9's but most fast laps were low 1.12's. Never tried mediums. I'm just out to put a hurtin' on those softies and stay out of trouble (good luck with that)!

Racers; Please make sure to be in my lounge prior to 9:30pm eastern, so I can get a head count for the public lobby. If your going to be later either post here or pm me and I'll have a spot for you. After the race I'll shut down the public lobby and ask everyone to head back to my lounge for a preview of next weeks race and to BS.

Also, as a reminder if the lag bug bites us on the the short track we will restart the race on the full version running 18+1 laps. We will start the race and you are to line up in the order you qualified for the short track.

what are we going by for our starting positions? The leader board while qualifying or where it puts us on the starting grid?

Where it puts us on the grid. The display on the leader board is not always accurate. On this track P1 is to the right and P2 is left. So if your lined up to the right in the third row your P5. Just remember who is in front of you if we have to restart

Just got home from vacation, what lap times are needed to be in the middle pack? Im a complete rookie at this track

Hop in my lounge when you see me get online if you need any help with your set up

Great run last night guys, Dangit was the class of the field. I was happy to see we could run with the mics on. Lag wasn't bad at all either. A couple small blurps but not bad. My lap times where the same as the sprints we did during the week.

So what have we learned; 10 and under, public room with mics. 12 and over, public room no mics.

Congrats to Godangit. He left us in the dust. Wish I could have carried over my hot lap times to the race, never got close to 11's until the end.

Yeah, the race ran w/o any hiccups from my view too. Still, wish the grid would set up right.

From now untill they fix the leader board problem(wishful thinking) I'm going to ask everyone their time when they are done qualifying so we can get it right. REALLY PD? Get this stuff sorted out!

I think PD needs a lot of work to do to fix all that is wrong currently with GT5!:yuck:
Don't expect much they have other plans, such as getting started on GT6!:grumpy:
I learnt that they have totally messed up online tire wear! :ouch:
Instead of my usual 22-23 laps at 1:15's on Mediums I only managed a few 15's and a crap load of 19's at the end of only 16 laps!!!
Guess I will just run softs from now on as they are the only tire of choice!!
