Wish I could have ran some laps last night , maybe we can run a few practice races tonight , anyone gonna be on, I wonder if anyone has tested online bug since update

Might be wishful thinking that it CAN be fixed.

As a disclaimer I will hereby blame the slightest driving error no matter how slight, on this horrible, horrible "bug". In addition, this disclaimer is also retro-active in nature. Thusly, I will be reviewing all previous STC, AIWJT events and posting my complaints here in a whining, infantile rant.

I dont understand why people are suspending stuff? This bug isnt new............ its only new to gtplanets home page.

we could always jump to rfactor 2. 👍

Not new, but seems to be worse or more noticeable. I know JT & R0ADRASH had a hell of a time this past month or two.

I'm feeling the same way at this point. It will be interesting to see how this plays out with the article being placed on the News page. Supposedly the GTPlanet site owner has some visibility with Sony/PD so maybe something might come of it.

Uh, I concur!

If nothing is mentioned about the online bug within the next two updates, it may be unfixable. PD I think will either ignore it or fix it. I guess it will depend on if it is costing them money. Either that or PD cares about it's customers (imo not many companies do) and will fix it once they discover what the problem is.

Got to run a few last night. This car's wicked fast even at 463hp, liking it more and more. Looks like the big decision is what tires to run. Sounds like the softs were the smart choice last week. Car drives great on mediums, just gotta figure how long they'll hold up. After 6 laps on softs-yikes!

The times you were getting on mediums may make them the way to go. Right after you left, scorpion showed up and we ran for a while. I did manage a 46.7 lap, but I thinks that's about all I've got as far as lap times. I haven't tested much on mediums yet, but I need to see if I want to run a 2 stop on softs or a 1 stop on mediums..... decisions, decisions.

Reguarding the maintenance; I'll sign on the normal time, if I can't open a room or get online, I'll post here. We can either run tomorrow or postpone until next week.

Im home, im bored, im on my ps3.

If anyone wants to practice let me know....

otherwise ill just get on @ race time.

I hope everyone had a fun race. That's what we are here for. I'm really not liking this tire wear. It's seems too drastic and I'm wondering if the issues we're having with lag and what not effect people's tire wear differently. Case in point; all week I could go 7 maybe 8 laps on a set of softs before I had only slivers left. Last night I ran 10 on my first stint and 9 on the second. Although my times were about a second slower.

Anyway next weeks race is going to be a tight little track with some bumping and scraping on door handles. Those cars are like the Super V8's. Let's have a blast

Tire wear went the same for me as practice races last night. I didn't push too hard in the first stint and went 1 lap further. Ended up pitting 3 times. May have been able to stretch out and really had a hard time deciding to pit that last time. My lap times were down too but I sure didn't push the sweep out of the last tunnel as hard as in TT's.

Had some fun runs with several racers last night. Really like the new Mazda TC's so far. Not to sure about the Subie though. AWD and tire wear-uggh!

I'm not crazy about the 4wd and tire wear either. If you remember we did the testing for this series before the tire wear update, so we'll have to make the best of it as we always do. I know I'm not very good when it comes to tuning the AWD's. But diversity is good and makes us all better drivers.

The race grid got completely screwed up (twice). We need a consensus-some stayed on track, some exited into the pit, some exited then went back on track and parked.

I've been noticing that when we do some sprints as well. Also have noticed that the names aren't in order during qualifying. PD really needs to take a hard look at the online issues.

We should all try to pit. If anyone black screens or is missing we will re-load. Second time around we should all drive onto track and park. This helped at Spa when we had black screens. I don't think anyone left the track so I'm not sure how the order got screwed up. I'm thinking we just had a hard time lining up is all.

Doesn't that tell you something?

There is no "tire wear issue", all the change has done is given people a choice; you can continue to run every lap as hard as possible with no regard to tire wear and hope your laps are fast enough to cover the extra stops, or you can run like tires do not have infinite life and make less stops. I couldn't care less which approach anyone takes to the race, I just wish the ones that feel they need to run hard every lap would respect my decision to run the race my way.

I really think we should just do some 5 lap sprints instead of the longer races. Or turn tire wear off, that is just as realistic as running hard every lap and seeing every corner as a passing opportunity. It woudn't be nearly as dissapointing getting knocked out of 5 lap sprint as it is a long race that you have practiced for all week.

The thing is I ran hard almost the whole first stint. The second stint I came out in 3rd and ran hard to make up a 10 second gap to first not knowing what strategy they were on. My 3rd stint I kind of took it easy knowing JT and NCR were on a 3 stop strategy. Just weird

Nothing weird about it. You were running by yourself, you can run hard and get good tire wear if you aren't battling with other cars. I could run hard in practice and get 10-12 laps on a set of tires. When we ran some short 5 lap races my tires were shot at the end of the race.

Absolutely true. But in practice running by myself I could only get 8 max.

So what do we go by for qualifying order? I always remembered my position before the race started and then just fell in behind the driver listed in the starting position ahead of me.

My tire wear was about the same as practice. Around 7 laps on softs. What's strange for me is when the tire wear indicator shows 1/2 my tires are toast.

I'm chasing people and people are chasing me. I'm not going to pussyfoot around anyone just because they have an Everlasting Gobstopper. I rub some doors I know, but I'm racing. Watch any race, any type, F1, LeMans, NASCAR, V8, Sprint, Karts. There is contact. I know I won't win any with the new tire wear but that's just where I am at until I figure stuff out.

At this point there is no way I can lift for the sake of conserving tires and keep pace. You top qualifiers are just too quick. So like last night, I have to run hard and pit more. Guess I'm a dunce.

My tire wear was as I expected it, however the weird PD lag issues sent my lap times into the basement. :ouch:
Instead of my 1:50's I ran all week I could only scrape together 1:53's consistently.

as for the dive bombing issues I guess we will just have to live with it and learn how to avoid it. :nervous:

maybe we could award points for good driving and subtract points for bad driving, it's too bad the penalty system on GT5 causes cars to ghost out, it would take care of this dive bombing and short cutting of corners. 💡

all I know is that I am glad I saw JT coming, I was able to get out of his way before I suffered the same fate as Bo in the same corner! :dopey:

oh well on to better and harder things....

I was beat up a few times last night by different people. I've gotten used to being abused. I really don't know you guys yet (and I'm a reserve)... some day I'll be a regular... then the gloves will come off. :sly:

There is no dive bombing going on. It is the use of opportunity. Either shut the door on me or lose. Leave a mouse hole and I'm snaking thought it. Simple really.

There is a gap of air between our cars that Bo's car bounces off of. You can pause these vids slowly.

I did an in car replay also and I still don't hear it.

My laps were pretty close to practice 1:49's but the glitches had my brakes whacked out. I ended up braking early for corners so I could recover from the "weirdness" and not be in the "kitty litter".

Guys before this blown into some crazy shouting match, remember this is a fun series with no points at stake. This is supposed to be fun and not taken too seriously. We are all friends here if you screw up and hit someone an apology is all that should be needed and if you get knocked off by someone or go off track on your own, get back in there and see what kind off finish you can get.

I'm not going to turn on penalties or take off tire wear. We might as run A Spec or time trials.
