It follows no rules / regulations set by a race series & governing body. Any manufacturer could build something amazing if they made up their own rules.
How fast it is with only a 300 hp engine is pretty cool - but then again it weight less than half as much as a LMP2 class car....
Also the solution to dirty air making it harder to pass someone is ground effects.... look at GP2 (but big HP & ground effects makes car stupid fast. )

Since we have a off week for the series I will be hosting a race night in my lounge for anyone interested. Here's the details:
Lounge opens at 8pm EST. Please be in lounge by 9:30pm EST if you wish to participate.
Car: Caterham Seven Fireblade '02
Track: Autumn Ring
Details:
*Tires: sport soft
*Tuning Prohibited
*No ABS
*No TCS
*...all aids disabled.
*Pit stops NOT required.
*Cockpit view requested (I can't force it)
*Please change your oil before entering lounge.
Special Notes:
*There will be no qualifying. We will run a series of short races. I'm planning on 3 races. At 9:35pm EST we will start the first race and PD/GT5 will put racers in the order that it feels is perfect. We will run reverse grid start on the second and third race. Each race will be 10 laps and it will be grid start without a pace lap.

This is for fun only!!! I've been really enjoying running cars without tuning or any driving aids in the cockpit view. For those willing to try, this is a very rewarding way to drive in GT5.

Envy, thanks for putting this together. I love the car choice even though it can be a handful! Which tire will we be running? The no ABS may turn folks off. It really isn't that bad once you get a feel for it. Running the 908 HDI Fap today without ABS was fun! I'll def be participating this week.

Thanks Red! I was planning on running the tire that comes stock on the car. I'm not at my PS3 anymore so I don't know what is stock. ABS off will help people with car control when they run ABS on.
I agree, running the 908 today without ABS was fun and really not that difficult.

People in New York just figured out here in Connecticut we have gas.... The lines at gas stations on 95 are about an hour to fill up. GO BACK TO NY - Stop driving you wont need gas !

For those running the Caterham race this Wednesday please spend some time in the car. It's a tricky car. We'll be running sport soft tires to help make it easier to manage. There are spots on this track where you'll want to avoid the curbs. Otherwise the car gets easily upset.

I'm running 3 - 1. Can't get the car to lock up. Pretty easy car without ABS.

Check out this post on ABS 0. Lots of good information here.
I ran a quick offline one make with BB of 3/1 on SH tires. No lock up issues. It's such a light car no wonder.

Looks awesome. Just hope the physics are there as well. Not a fan of names above cars. Can't stand it in GT5 either. Hopefully that can be removed in the options menu.

Such a great car / track combo. If you guys haven't tired it yet....give it a go. The Caterham is a car you can never allow yourself to become completely comfortable with. It will keep you on your toes.

Physics are leaps & bounds ahead of GT5 with the near tire model well on its way to a real sim.
Names above cars in the game can be turned on & off (d pad on g27). Guessing that video had them on to show they were real guys from the wmd forums not AI.
p.s. - look @ 0:54. Allin I will do that to you with my Audi R18 If i get the chance
