"Oh crap!" moments

So here I am, driving the very fun Honda Beat, and as I'm entering the tunnel at Grand Valley East Reverse, on comes Mr. A.I. and gives me a bit of a nudge, which started off a chain reaction in which EVERY SINGLE CAR had a go at me:

Two seconds after the nudge, I slammed unto the little step-up at the tunnel's entrance, sparks flying and my 570-kg car is doing reverse wheelies...

As I'm bouncing off the wall, and consequently into the opposite wall, I bounce off to the middle of the road looking the wrong way, and Mr. A.I. has its first face-off at me

And lastly, the guy who was running dead last, not to be outdone, has a bit of myself as well
THANKS MR. A.I.!!!

And lastly, the ever elusive Ginetta wheelie!

Actually, I went over the piano, and since it's such a light car, I was sent into the air and landed on the opposite wall.

To make up for its inadequacies (i.e. handling :grumpy:) it is sometimes necessary to let the Dodge Ram live up to its name...

Dodge Ram: 0
Doge Viper: -1
(Yes I did win the race :sly:)

one more reason i hate the corkscrew (i always manage to fudge up the line going into it):

the bad omen (and would you believe 3 is my lucky number?):

here we go...brace on my mark..................BRACE!!!!!!

as you can see, i really need to work on my line at laguna seca :scared:
i still managed to win the race though, had a preaty sizeable lead when it happened.

I always take this corner way faster than the AI. Im in the TVR, and I got into the rearend of the Evo there.

the evo saved it, i overcorrected.

ended up side by side with a Skyline.

I was driving this viper on the Nordschleife and I almost lost it. It was at the 7 km point so thought it would make a nice picture. Notice the details in the bricks of the curbstones.

I think was on "Like The Wind". Maybe. All I know it was the test course.

Anyway, I bumped the car in front, slid down to the bottom, overcorrected, slid up and...

Note the Peugeot! I'm not entirely sure how that happened. (Better image below.)

I love this thread.

One of my friends has this shot of an Impreza rally car at Grand Canyon with an over-excited spectator running out. Fairly normal, but he's photoshopped it so there's pixelation covering the spectator.

If I can get a shot of the "streaker" shot (as he calls it), I'll post it.

I was finally getting a good lap on Mission 34 when this happend to me at the end of the straight. I felt that the back was letting go a little bit earlier but still thought that I could make it.

At this moment I still was going at about 160km/h and i thought that I had no chance to make a recovery from this spin. Getting the flames in the picture was just pure luck since I didn't see the car when i pushed select. :)

But I guess i was lucky, didn't even touch the wall. At least i didn't notice it if I did.

And I actually won the race, passing the leader in the last bend. :)

this pissed me off.....i was in the middle of a hot, and i mean hot, lap of the old LeMans layout (no chicanes) when this happened at "white house".....all driven a-spec......2 laps later, i scored a nice 3'08.xxx lap..... :sly:

this was in preparation of starting le 24h du Mans in the same car pictured....i am please to say that i am now the satisfied owner of a Bentley Speed 8 LM-P 👍

the advice from this experiance: dont break late in high speed turns! :dunce:

and btw, the Sauber Mercedes C9 kicks ass (the Jag isnt far behind though :P )!!!

"White house" - Maison Blanche no less....

Also - Sarthe II is not the "old layout"; since the variant of the circuit without the chicanes would not have the left-right just after the Dunlop Bridge (after the chicane, then under the bridge)- that was a straight. PD simply removed the chicanes from the circuit, so infact Sarthe II is a configuration that has never been used in real-life.

i know its not the real layout (i noticed the difference after watching a tape of LeMans '86.....that was the year Jo Gartner was killed), but its the closest your going to get in GT4.....i have the maps of all the variations (and planned variations).....you should see the ORIGINAL layout!!!! its friggin looooong!!!!!

lol....id love to see the various real configs in GT5....along with more LMPs aswell as different LeMans races for the different catagories of cars (LMP1, LMP2, GT1, GT2)......

either way....i live for the Mulsanne strait :P

if you want any track maps, check out this site (its not where i got my LeMans layouts, but it does have a ton of others): http://www.trilon.com/bapom/maps/

:( i was driving Nissian Skyline at New York, after this long stright line, i was about to stop, but my friend came over so i stopped this game, after 30 min of chatting then i'm back to racing and i totally forgot where i am and all, so i floor the gas and hit wall hard :scared:
