But can the police track police tracking radars?

No. Unlike jammers they don't emit a signal - they receive LASER and RADAR signals and determine whether the frequency matches police frequencies and, more commonly, microwave signals from GPS for fixed camera locations.

In most U.S. states, radar detectors are perfectly legal, so it doesn't really matter if the cop knows you have one or not. I'm not sure if there is some way for the police to detect radar detectors, but again, it matters not. Radar scramblers on the other hand, are illegal in most areas. Those are the things that absorb the police radar/laser, and send back a signal that corresponds to "31 mph" or something ludicrous like that.

Yeah, we have 2 or 3 Valentine radars. The only thing about radars though is that not everything they pick up is police. If you go near certain stores, they pick up frequencies, and the noise is annoying as hell:grumpy: .

Amongst other things... The GPS ones are better, as they filter out known false-positive hotspots.

Integra Type R
It's picking up the frequencies emmited from from the automatic doors.
Dang! I always thought it was from cops hiding behind the Hostess display at Albertsons :grumpy:. I'm going to drive 90 mph through their parking lot from now on (in my new CCX).

Be sure you put a wing on the back of your new CCX or else you'll spin out and end up IN the Hostess display at Albertsons. :sly:

My "ludicrous" claim of the day is that my 325 HP/600000000 lb/ft torque Bone Stock Ford Excursion is still pulling down 17-20 Miles per Gallon.
I still don't drive it (my wife won't let me) because diesel is still too expensive to be "gally-vantin'" all over the countryside in an oversized SUV.

FTR, Great Thread.

I've discovered that I become Snoop Dogg on full moons.

Why did you wait a week-and-a-half to tell us this?! You should have given us more time to prepare the antidote in time for the next full moon!

I wanted to surprise you by crashing through a wall of your house at night, making a new rap with words that don't rhyme and dissing your ho.

Are you sure you're not talking about Billy Joel, and not Snoop Dogg?

By the way, I may not have a ludicrous claim, but I have ludicrous speed.

That reminds me, Ludacris is my rapping friend. We do parties and box socials.

 - Such a lie (source - whats the fastest you've ever driven in your car?)
180 mph in my nissan skyline GT-R34
614BHP

Source - whats the fastest you've ever been in your car?
105mph but I only have a really old ford fiesta
The thing with this one is the speed was posted by Alpine - He's 15.

So?...you can be able to drive a vehicle at the age of 15 in many countries , and most of those 15 year old kids, are more likely to try their vehicle's top speed after playing GT4.

Ciao!

Plays PAL version, claims to own a blue Ford Fiesta with English registration plates.

Minimum legal driving ages in Europe.

Still doesn't rule it out totally, of course...

I wonder what would have happened if I went 100+ with my dad in the car when I was 15 (and on a permit )

Maybe he did it ilegally...

@Famine: Dude....I didn't see your avatar, you look hungry for noobs

Ciao!

You can go to a track or dragstrip and drive cars underaged under strict supervision. Some rednecks here let their 10 year olds drive their Wranglers down the dragstrip.

That's basically how many NASCAR drivers started. Jeff Gordan raced 600hp sprint cars when he was 13.

As I said, it doesn't totally rule it out, but...

Find me a drag strip or track in Europe where someone under the legal driving age can, without a competition licence, drive a full size vehicle.

I have a nack for doing this since I live so near to where he grew up and raced.....

It was midgets and they dont have no 600hp, more like 150+/-

And if here were to drive a sprint car, horsepower is more like almost 800+/- 25hp for a 410 CI

I did 95 when I was 15 and on my permit on a relatively straight stretch of I-90 outside of Issaquah. Granted, it wasn't 100+, and everyone there's doing 85 probably, but it's not impossible...

And yes, my dad was in the car with me.

wee_man
I have a 12 inch penis. See I bet no-one will ask for a picture of that with a sign saying; wee_man - big willy : GTP .

I will. I'd like to see evidence of this ludicrous(sp?) claim. but I want a large Quiznos Italian sub in the picture also for size reference. :)

I'll make a ludicrous claim.

- I once drove my truck into a water hole so deep that the rear of the truck was floating(keeping the the 36inch tires, attached to a HEAVY 1 ton rear axle hangin off springs that provide 4 inches of lift over stock height, from touching the ground). The bed filled with water and finally sank. The water was at my waist inside the truck. The front end was on higher ground on the far side of the hole. So the angle of the truck had the water line going from the top of the front fenderwell sraight back to where the toolbox on the bed is. Once the bed sank and I put the tranny in reverse preparing to be pulled out, the truck started shuddering. So i mashed the throttle and the truck lurched backwards out of the hole. :)
