Oh, oh, oh, I'm making a Ludicrous Claim®! Read the first post!

A full custom exhaust netted 80 extra horses? I find that hard to believe for a XR8 Falcon.

The GT claim seems to be stretching the truth; to my knowledge, Ford Australia did source the 5.4L Modular V8 used in the Ford GT in the XR8, but it does not have an aluminum block, duel fuel injectors, & so forth. Unless, he is claiming he legitimately has a 5.4L V8 directly out of a GTX-1.

That I would love to know how he sourced the engine out of a car GDG only built 35 of & that he managed to get the engine out of what would have to be the only one in Australia.

I mean, really? Who cares? Don't start, it's my thread, and I don't want people to start taking my thread as nonsense or ridiculous. I think the GTX1 refers to an engine code specific to an Australian Ford. I don't know, ask him. I can't be bothered to even find out, since I dislike Ford.

It's not your thread. This is a public forum. Secondly, look at what thread this is. If we suspect someone is making a ludicrous claim elsewhere, it is posted here.
You might want to drop the "It's my thread, so don't" line as well just because you don't like what people are posting. We have that privilege as members of this forum to post where we please within' the AUP.

And btw, no, it is not an engine code. It is referring to the Ford GTX-1 car that was built by Genaddi Design Group.

Haha, then which track is the one with "Chase" Corner?

..

My edit was quicker than your post. But I have no knowledge of Bathurst.
What I meant was in his profile it seems to say that he never raced at Bathurst, but as you can see I might have read it the wrong way...

But I have no knowledge of Bathurst.

Then it's about time you do some research. :sly:
I'll happliy admit I'm biased but it's one of the best racetracks going around. Also if you ever get the chance to visit during the Bathurst 1000, Saturday night on the mountain can be a real eye opener .
Not for faint hearted.

Cheers Shaun.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a good friend of Dave too, and I respect what he has to say, but I'm not entirely sure Dave's claims about his Falcon add up. Is it just me, or does this post about his Falcon not really sound as amazing as the other one? The post in Mel's thread says the current engine makes 410bhp, whereas the post in the GT Underground thread says the current engine makes 480bhp.

In that post he states it can do the 1/4 mile in 7.9?

His numbers are all over the place.

I find it hard to believe he has a Ford GTX1 engine just lying around, considering they were going to produce a maximum of 600 and I don't think that number was even met. And 'straight out of a GTX1' the motor would produce 700hp, whereas his is making 830hp, or so he claims...

He is a Australian Ford loyalist, that generally says a lot.

This says it all.

The claims he is making are akin to the blokes who put Chevrolet badges on their V6 Commodores.

The GT 335 with the supercharged Coyote can run 12s, I highly doubt his BA FPV with only 20kW more poke can run a full 4 seconds quicker. Unless he actually meant it's running 1480hp which again, I doubt.

I have a antique 65 Mclaren DB5 that I have owned for ten years. I also still love motorcycles and still drive a Campagna T-Rex. At 70 years old I still love speed. Any tips that anyone can give me to help enjoy this program will be greatly appreciated.

I think if I'd spent a fortune on a classic car, I'd probably remember what it was.

I was hoping to hear that he had put them together somehow . . . but . . . seems like all is quiet on the eastern front.
Another strange episode.. . .
Should we send out a scouting party to find out whether he's collapsed over the wheel?
You bastards didn't ram him, did you?

600HP at the wheels.

Will post all modifications later.

And just in case there is a few unbelieving trolls, here's the old one in the exact same place outside my house.

Still not sure?

Yeah, not buying it... consider this a request for actual proof!

The owner of that Supra at the time that picture was first posted on the web claims to live in Huddersfield, UK.

You can see the Supra below in the Corolla pics, which is the same location as the current R32 pics.

However, EatMyRB26 claims to live in York. And while I thought maybe that that was short for Yorkshire, I didn't know there's actually a town called York in the UK that's an hour away from Huddersfield.

Yeah, not buying it... consider this a request for actual proof!

I'll say it IS possible, since my friend has an RX-7 and an R32, and a 180SX.

I'll call rubbish on the Supra (they're more expensive, iirc) and the 600whp (until I get a full list of parts.)

Well that's slightly embarrassing. I didn't recognise the Supra and I've lived in Huddersfield all my life. In fact, I know where that road is.

Maybe I should take a trip down there and see if the Supra is there.

Maybe.

I bet all of the cars actually are there. It's not expensive... Not one of those cars is worth even $10,000, except (maybe) the Skyline. There are members with more expensive cars.

I've been in an RX-7, and hit my helmet off of the window because of drifting g-forces, though, so the bang for the buck is awesome. :)

And no, I'm not making a ludicrous claim about owning one; a friend DOES own one.
