I've been doing a few laps of this every time I play in the 305HP GT40. The best I've been able to do is 1:17.020, or close to that. I'll try messing with the tuning a little next.

So looks like that's about it for the GT40 on Grindelwald... any other entrants?

If not, then it's Burnout's turn to pick a car and course. And If he won't, somebody else do it.

here is something that soem people may recongnize.......
Toyota Supra, BONE STOCK
trial mountain..
I got 1:34.486.......beat that!

Which Supra?

Supra '95
Supra '97
Supra GT Castrol '96
Supra GT Castrol '99
Supra GT Cerumo '99
Supra GT Denso Sard '99
Supra RZ '97
Supra SZ-R '97
Supra turbo '93
Supra turbo '96
Supra turbo '97
Supra Twin Turbo-R '91
Tom's Supra
or
TRD 3000GT?

Not to be a punk Burnout, but you need to be more specific.

Did you really have to name them all?? Or do you just have WAY too much time on your hands?? I know I do. I took the GT2 Carlist and completly redid it. You can actually read it now

A 1:16 at grindel was pretty hot, i only managed a 1:185 after many laps. Trial mountain in the supr, did 1:38. Dont see much time commin off that either.

Got a 1:37-8 (didn't record the decimals) after about five laps. I can probably shave some time off with practice.

The big chicane right in the begining is wierd with no downforce. Gotta adjust to that.

Muahaha...I checked out the GT-40 on Grindy (no mods, SS tires, custom settings) and I pulled a 1:15.299 @ 151.61 mph. I can give settings if you guys want...I didn't really work on them, in fact, just put on what I tought would be good settings, slapped on SS tires, I went out, and one the 4th lap I got the 1:15. Yay.

Oh man....forget that, I just literally killed that time.

New record: 1:13.335 @ 148.62 mph....I love this car, great pick for car/track combo.....

ph33r meh.

PS, I used a sliding setup for powerslides.....if you take all the 180º corners by powersliding them, and most of the fast chicanes in the beginning at nearly top speed, it's kinda easy.

Okay, I got a 1:15.539 last night on Grindelwald in a GT40. I didn't try the Supra challenge again because it's not fun. My time for that stands 1:37.XXX.

It's what it says, a stock car. With no mods at all.

Blargh, anyone want setups for the GT40? I still feel obliged to give them out.....

BTW, on that Supra thing, I got 1:36.7xx...I didn't want to try anymore, I don't like that car at all. Underpowered FR's are, IMO, sucky.

I'd like your settings for the GT40.

And BTW did you see that I improved my time by almost two seconds? 1:15.539 oe something close to that.

Yup, I saw. :D Now only 2 more seconds more to beat me....;)

Ok, settings. They are kinda unorthodox for an MR car, but the suspension helps me slide the corners but still maintain a good grip on the smaller turns.

Supersoft tires...then:

(Front / Rear)
Spring rate: 6.4 / 10.2
Ride height: 91 / 85
Dampers: 10 all around
Camber: 0 / 0
Toe: 0 / 0
Stabs: 7 / 7
Gearing: I use this thing called the Ultimate Gearing Setup, props to Skidmark at the GameFAQ's boards for creating them. It gives a slight advantage in the straights. Anyway, here's the steps:

1- Put the Auto Setup all the way to the right
2- Put the Final Drive all the way to the right
3- Put the Auto Setup all the way to the left
4- Adjust the Final Drive to 3.726 (or what's necessary for the track)
5- Put the gears in a stepladder pattern, like this:

|________ (2.250)
__|______ (1.699)
____|____ (1.322)
______|__ (1.057)
________| (.878)

And voila, Skid's Ultimate Gearing Setup.

Oh, and maximum downforce....

cool thanks.

I'll give it a try tonight and report my results tomorrow.

Oh and about that Supra on Trial Mountain . . . ugh.

And Davey, why don't you suggest a car and track combo for this little comparison thingy goin' on here?

Hmm, ok. Elise GT1 at Special Stage Route 5....one of my favorite car/track combinations. I have a low 1:10, but I forget the exact number, so I will run it some more....

PS, the weight reductions and race mod are allowed.

You think so? Eh....If you think that's good, well, I always get beat on every track by this other guy, by at least 2 seconds....but I think he cheats. Meh. Thanks though.

It is amazing.

I think competing for lap times makes you better. I thought 1:13 in a GT 1 on Laguna was good, until I saw others could do it better so I pushed and got it down to 1:09. If somebody beats that I'd probably get it even better. Altho I did get a little tired of that one.

And I thought 1:18 was good on Grindelwald in a GT40 until Davey motivated me to do it in 1:15 (which still sucks compared to his :banghead: )

I wonder what the absolute best time possible is?

This stuff makes the game more fun though.

Naw, I had my Excel file open at the same time as i was reading the thread, so I cut 'n' pasted the Supras. Took all of 3 seconds.

I supposed it was the RZ.
