I would time the entrance into the corners so I could "opponent car ride" through the turns, draft, & use a little nitrous here and there. I did wall-ride the the tighter turn on the last lap, more like a wall slam, I over-shot the first place car and hit the wall hard, but I came outta the turn first, barely, and used the nitrous, I even had 2 units of nitrous left as I crossed the finish line.

Lotus Elise Trophy

For those who don't want to run this series twice, once to get the Type 72 and again to get the 1000pts, you can use the Elise 00, run once and get the 1000 pts.

No oil change,122 hp, N2/N3, 100 ballast.
Otherwise all upgrades that don't affect points.

Mini Races.
A stock power Mini One + 146 ballast and Normal Road Tires (N3), will earn 200 A spec points against a line up with 3 Cooper S, 1 Cooper and 1 Mini One.

Have won at Tokyo ,Paris, Seattle and Clubman SS for 200.
183 A spec points at New York using Sport Medium (S2) and 200 kg.
Sport Hard (S1) and 200 ballast gives 190 a spec.

Standing start at Tokyo, start in 2nd gear to limit wheel spin. Makes half a second difference, and puts you in the lead at the first turn.

I have read the previous posts AMG and Nige, that gave some good help with line ups and set ups to beat these races. I should have made it clear that I was using a new car with 600 - 700 km (90 hp) and not the worn 9000 mile car you guys used (81 hp).
What is easier ? less hp and better tires or more hp with lower grip tires?

It varies with the track, on some you need power on others you need traction. If you're good on e.g. N1s go for power.
Lineup however is key. The most difficult to do is NY. After that the others will look relatively 'easy'.

Personally I go for less hp with better tyre grip. I still hate those N1 tyres except on a few cars.
nige

I always go for better tyres - I was often surprised how much easier races were to win after the car was worn out - the BMW 1 Series Trophy is one where I had tried to get 200 in a new car - impossible for me - then I went and wore the car out and got 200 everywhere on my first try.

The Hyundai Coupe series is proving a major PITA. I have managed 156 using N2/N3 tyre combination and 176 at Grand Valley and Soeul. Kind people have provided some info on how to get 176 ( Bttlefed I thank you ) at Autumn Ring, Hong Kong and Tsukuba, but for me it these are some of the worst races in the whole game and I need your help.
I have played with suspension settings, gear ratios and just cannot get anywhere near it on those wretched N1's. The best I can manage is 158 at Tsukuba ( with 30 ballast ).
Is it possible for any of you superhuman guys who have managed 176 at AR,HK and Tsukuba to post suspension settings, gear ratios etc to enable a poor driver come anywhere this magical number.
For this I thank you,
Keep up the good work guys,
nige

I dont have any settings to give but I used all the possible dirty tricks to overcome the awful handling of the N1's on this car. Many retries were required especially on autumn ring but eventually I succeeded. Patience and good luck. 👍

...I need your help...

111583 a-spec points and you are asking for help

Seriously though, its series like this that stopped me in my tracks. Too much like hard work and NOS + DFP is a serious pita. I managed 156, 156, 176, 156, 176 and I am sure I wil never get the rest.

I'm sure you'll get there, it can't be too much harder than some of the other events you have completed (although perhaps you are missing all the super hard ones?)

Yep I do need help. Have managed to creep up to 160 at Tsukuba thanks to adding a bit of ballast, car bashing and shortcut across the grass. But AR and HK - well what can I say. I have tried close gearing, infact just about everything.

Super hard ones - 4hr Roadster . That's another story :scared: :scared:

Well then I maybe have a bit of help for you.

After I did the Copen race (Motorland), that I was with a lot of problems doing and found that jbrennen setup for the Copen made it a not so bad car, I decided to adapt the setup to the Polo and Coupe (this worked in some way for Hong Kong, with some other parts of bttlefed setup for those races).

Well here you have the mix up setup I endup (this is for the Coupe in Hong Kong)

N1/N3 tires
The usual non-power, non-weight mods
Nitrous [100]
200ballast (50 in the back)
Suspencion:
6.3 6.3
83 83
8 10
8 10
2.5 1.5
0 -4
4 4
Auto setup at 2
Brake controller at 1/8
No Aids

This was a really easy race (well at least for someone that wasn't even able to keep up with then, I won this in 1 try...)

I still need to do Tsukuba (got for now 156pts in this one) and AR (only got 137 pts in this one).

And since this topic is also about the US races, I also need to finish Suzuka in the Saleen S7 Club (but didn't tried to much this one and still have only got 149pts here)

Dear Sir,
I am very grateful for this info. Will try it later on. Hong Kong and Autumn Ring are a major PITA.
Saleen S7 - Run it to over 9000 miles and use N2/N3 tyres. Much easier than N1's.
Again, thanks for the info.
Good luck

Well I already wear the engine of it, but still have lots of problems with the handling, but then again I think that the last time I tried that was in November... well I really need to retry this again...(specially since I almost stopped this in December when I had 17 races to finish this, and since then I only won Sarthe II 24hours in February and now more 4 other races last week, that made me return to this).

Vash, Is there any chance you might have saved the replay of this. I, and possibly others, would really like to see how these 'impossible' (for us) feats are achieved. I'm stumped.

Your efforts much appreciated. 👍

AMG.

After countless attempts I have just managed 176 points in the Hyundai Coupe series at Hong Kong. It required all the tricks in the book to get it - leaning on cars, wall riding, car bashing etc.

Car : Hyundai Coupe FX - 159 bhp ( car settings screen )
N1/N3 tyres
NOS @ 70
Brake Controller : 1/8

Suspension:
15.3/15.3
83/83
1/10
1/10
2.5/1.5
0/ -4
2/7
Driving Aids : 0/0/3

Gears :
Tranny trick - move Final drive all the way to the right then set Auto to 5.

LSD : 10/60/5

Ballast : 198
Balance : +50 ( to the back )

Hope this helps because I know this race is a PITA for many of us. Haven't tried this set up at Tsukuba or Autumn Ring yet.

Good luck,

nige

I really can't understand why are you even trying for less than 200pts...
Those few races left are equally hard for 170 and for 200...

Like you managed for 176 after "few" attempts, it could have easily been 200 in the bag... and one race of the list...

This goes to all of you with 110K+ points...

Take this advice, you will not regret it... 👍

Ya, that's a good advice, and I'm already doing it from some time now (all the races with points I have are like that for already a long time, since those where the max points I was able to handle when I was under 100K), the only exception is the Roadster endurance, that I first raced in a Stock MX-5 NR-A in S1 for 100pts, then in S1+200Ballast for 142pts, and now I want to do it in N3+200ballast to test the car (and finish to wear the engine)

Fizio, 200pts. is not possible in the Hyundai Series, 176 is the max per race.
Good job nige. 👍

That's right.

And I almost won Tsukuba in the Hyundai for 2 times, lost both in the last turn:mad:, to the 🤬 red Coupe (I was VS first line up with the red starting in 2nd place, but oddly finished 1st in those 2 races), and that was just because I wasn't able to block him properly in that turn :banghead:

Well this is not talking that I will have to win this at least 2 times (to keep my 100%, but at this point I don't mind spending time to keep it).

Vash - Thanks. Am going to make an serious attempt on Tsukuba first. Somehow I suspect it may be a little easier than Autumn Ring. You mention line up 1. Is there any difference in the line ups? I hadn't really thought about this in this series!

No, there isn't any difference in the line ups, all are always the same Coupe cars.

But like when you reset the game to get the same line ups, because the line ups appear in the same order but they also appear with the same colours (I was just using that to support that the Red coupe started in 2nd and end in 1st when I lost those races).

Nothing more.

Han_The_Dragon - Sorry my mistake. It was you who mentioned the line ups. Sorry about the mix up!!
That's what I thought. IMO they're all just as bad as each other.
Tsukuba is looming!

Edit - Tsukuba managed for 176 using the above settings. Much easier than Hong Kong. Phew!!

Just used SirBerra's setup only as I am a cheapskate & used sports sup but lowered it to the max & aced Super Speedway first go with a new car for 154pts .
Thanks mate

i just ran last night:

Alfa Romeo GTA Cup
Giulia Sprint GTA 1965, N3, max ballast. Lineup 3x 147 GTA.

for 200 points. because i was trying to find 4x 147 gta and got sick of trying to find them and tried against 3x 147. max points 600.

grrrrrrrrr. saleens at suzuka suck. will have to leave this for now and come back when i have meditated a bit. (just so i dont break my controller.)

Ditto on the saleens :nervous:. I decided to take a "break" from the extreme events (probably a bad idea as I was finally getting comfortable in the 787) to take down the American one-makes. :dunce:

Camaros dropped without too much trouble - though getting back into N1 driving mode has been a rough transition. Once I remembered the absurdly early breaking points, got my slow lines back, and brushed up on my dirty tactics, I didn't have too much trouble with them. Saleens started reasonably at Sarthe and Capitan (as expected), now have a couple transitional races to beef up a bit, then the real fun begins... I've sampled all the races a few times and it's not going to be pretty. :scared:

Fun sidenote: Camaros became the first races I've ever won for both 1 point and 200 points. Camaro LM was the only qualifier i had in my garage to snag the IROC Concept.

Still running down the crossfire :yuck:... my game likes to freeze up anytime i put a few hundred miles on it - other cars have done it once, but the crossfire's locked it up at least three times now.

Edit 12/13: Suzuka has been won! For details & Settings: Check out the Race Report

I finally kicked those AI Chrysler Crossfire's butts at Motegi Speedway.

one reset gave me a lineup where the second and third place cars were faster than the pole car. I was able to lean on, draft or wallbash cars to get me into second or first place on the last straight before the finish. And I was in control enough to nurse the NOS on straights.

In conclusion, my advice at Motegi Speedway is just keep resetting the lineup and there will be some variance on opponent staggering and speed.

After a dozen or more failed attempts I came here looking for hints, and decided to try resetting the lineup as you suggested. Result, Victory by 0.065s on the next attempt! This was with my existing settings - nothing like any I've seen posted, thus it appears that resetting the lineup has more effect than precise settings here. 👍
