i was wondering if everyone in this thread had a vendetta against racing tires and high pp events.

Well i do, High PP usally attracts the the 12 year old who like to crash instead of race and R tires are not as fun as low grip tires because bing out the best racer like Timppaq, Truth and Zabeu in the NSX's

Yup, thats why I hope they give us a full range from 500-800PP, that would be something for everyones tastes, and they should make more than 3 events at a time....

Well, yes, because the higher the PP gets, the more the races become one-make domination races.
When we had lower PP races, it seemed like the competition really opened up to some very varied car combinations. I suppose its not really an issue with PP specifically, just the fact GT5:P has a larger selection of slower class cars than it does faster classes (just like the normal Gran Turismo game really).

Also, the faster, higher PP races don't allow very much safe contact racing, whereas back with Suzuki Swifts, we could have more touring-car esque battles, where we could have some contact without it completely crushing people's races. It was infinitely more fun and it seemed more balanced for everyone's driving skill.

I've been away for a long time, but right now, i'm running a few races with my BRN34 on Suzuka, 750pp and noob physics. Playing bumper cars basically, but the point is to get a feel for the game again.

I've noticed a lot of different flags in that race (DE, FR, AU) so i'm pretty sure the event is worldwide. (can't confirm because i have a japanese prologue) So why are people asking for international events, if its already in?

sorry but whether i'm going fast or slow i try to avoid contact at all cost. also, it requires a lot more skill to drive the higher pp cars bumper to bumper than it does with the slower cars.

Could not say it better.

Almost everytime, when I've been whacked out, it's been 750PP Suzuka 1st turn or hairpin. Most of people just cant handle those monsters. Same race with 600PP, and even I get hitted, it did not ruin my race cause it was easy to get control back.

I like lower PP-cars also because they feel real to me. I have drive last 18 years with many different normal RWD's.

thats just your opinion, you do have a point though, the noobs tend to stay away from the low grip tires and lean more the the higher grip ones, but with a good group of drivers R type races can be just as fun as the S type ones.

Agreed +1 👍

That wasn't what I meant. See, its impossible for you to avoid all contact all of the time. I don't care how good you are, there will always be contact.

What I'm tired of is racing online on many games and having to be super careful just because of idiots. Why should I have to move onto the grass just to avoid some idiot who never learnt his braking points properly? With slower cars, this issue is lessened, because any accidental punts do far less damage and this makes it far less stressful racing for all involved.

I wasn't saying that contact should be rewarded or anything like that nor was I particularly ranting about having to drive carefully to avoid contact. I'm just saying its nice to race every now and again with minor contact allowed, it gives you a much more relaxed racing environment and actually increases the fun as you can make some daring moves on people and knock each other about a bit without worrying about ruining each others races.

In the end: I don't give one if you think its "less skillful", that is not the intention, the intention is to have more fun, regardless of skill.

Let me ask this: how many times online have you ever had bumper to bumper races with F2007s with non-GT forum members? I somewhat doubt anyone has had this as much as they have in Honda Integras, for example.

With group of good drivers, I would love to race with R-tyres and high-powered machines. It's pity that in these days rooms are open to every idiot to get in same grid without enough experience. Also 5 laps with 750PP and R-tyres is too short race, cause everybody just drive it 'in a minute', and if you want to pass someone, he need to do mistake... and with R-tyres good drivers dont do those.

In 600PP+S2, 5 laps is much 'taller' race, and there is easily 2-4 passes in one lap, when two equal driver is racing. Even small mistake is so bad, that guy behind you pass easily you, and slipstream effect keeps racing tight.

When my GT4 friend sometimes comes to visit, I give to hime 750PP and R-3 tyres, and he immediately drives properly and quite fast. With 600PP and S-2 tyres he is poor. Does it proove something... I dont know.

BRING BACK THE FERRARI F2007 EVENTS!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved them beyond words because i always won:)

those races say all why lower PP is so much fun! :)

Enjoy! This for me is racing. F1, Fia GT etc doesn't even come close to how spectacular this is. 👍

That does look like a lot of fun but i have a feeling PD are going to choose high PP events for this update.

I want some 800pp plus races... We could then have some monsterous cars on the track, and with good drivers, a lot more fun...

I just wish there was a way to use the headset in the race (I am not sure if there is) so then I could apologize to people when I make a mistake, e.g. tonight, I spun big time on the Intermediate High Speed Ring race, and knocked a racer off, and felt really bad as I was pushing my car too hard, and cost him a possible victory... Also, on a few occasions, I have misjudged a drivers style, and went into the back of them when they have used the brakes harder and sooner than I thought they would... I try to send a message to all these people (not that many) to say sorry, but I forget the usernames too quickly...

Excellent! Now we just need all the BTCC tracks and a few of the cars, and we'll be all set. 👍

i think every events are good. We will learn to drive better n better with low grip tire and different types of cars. Though im not very fast driver i learned with every evnt updated. Thanks PD and Mr K. Yamauchi

Can anyone say " Post Of The Year " Got my vote. Thats the funniest thing I've heard in a long time.

I want F2007 events back. Thats probably because I like driving the F2007 and I drive it all the time in time trials.
Still they were fun events to race in.

I just wish they would do something different. 800 PP Suzuka, with mandatory R3 tires would be nice. Or an Amuse S2K Max PP cup race.

Is there a usual time the online event update arrives? I seem to remember the last one arriving earlier than expected.

Sorry guys, just curious to see the new events and it's close to the 25th going by UK time (GMT / UTC)
