Hi all,

Notice when BoP is applied online, it reduces hp and adds weight.

Do we know if hp is restricted via restrictor or ecu?

Is ballast plonked in default position (0)?

I'm intersted in doing time trials to learn one tracks/cars, rather than going straight into race/qualifying situation on tracks/cars I'm unfamiliar with and want to mimic car I'll be using as much as possible.

From what I've seen, When B.O.P. is active it makes use of ecu rather than restrictor.( I think most race cars have ecu fitted by default)

It seems weight balast is also set to 0 when B.O.P. is active regardless of how much weight has been added. Unfortunately that means it can't be manipulated when B.O.P. is on.

Ah right can you check settings... as you mention ballast 0?

Sorry misread your comment around ecu/restrictor... yeah seems logical ecu uses as all cars have it. Although never know with pd!

I guess I could just apply restrictor or ecu and weight in offline and compare pp, see how it drives, time it on straight/monitor top end etc.

You can do quali laps for online without entering a lobby. Just go to, for example, Daily C and rather than hitting the check mark, go over a couple options and there is something for setting quali laps. As long as you don't enter the lobby, you can set quali laps with your BoP'ed car until the cows come home without actually being put into a race.

Other than the car already being BOP'ed, any quali laps you set will count (but the miles won't which is really odd). I'd hate to go into TT and set a blazing lap, then be unable to replicate it when it counts for the Daily race.

Food for thought.

ETA - Found a pic. Just go to that "Qualifying Time Trial" option before hitting the check mark and you're GTG.

Yeah this is what I tend to do. A slight peeve for me is the horsepower value in the car settings when B.O.P. is on. For some (likely daft) reason, the ECU reads 100% even when a car has had a few ponies taken off. A bit like how the added weigt balast is not displayed in the setting either.

At least though, one benefit of copying the B.O.P. settings manualy is you'll aslo get to mess around with ballast positioning, should you wish to.

Seriously though there needs to be an option to turn on B.O.P. for racing cars in the car settings screens for our convenience, like sport did.

I think you can also just create an online Lobby with BoP activated and just drive whatever combination you'd like.

Still don't understand why you can't activate BoP in the Time Trial settings when choosing a track, would be so simple do implement as they already have for custom races.

Best way to do it is to create a private lobby online.
Ok, but then they won't count towards the Daily qualifying. Don't understand why this would be easier or better than just going into the Daily and hitting the quali lap before going into a lobby. Nothing to set up and your laps will count.

Because you can only practice what is currently an active daily race or upcoming Manufacturers or Nations cup, not the round after or simply learn a track/car you want with BoP acitvated.

Ok, I thought OP's goal was to learn the specific tracks that are currently in the week's Dailys to prep for the races without actually entering a race.

But yea, if one wants to learn other tracks then the created lobby would be the way to go.

What br1x said basically. It counts towards the daily mileage if that matters
