online lobby

I always found the gran turismo online experience a little underwhelming. I only find 58 rooms at any given time, most of which either have an enormous ping or I can't join due to network incompatability.
A recent article said that 1.5 million users play gt5 online daily! Now this is weird because if each spends an average of a half hour online, you should have 3000 rooms full of 10 players each which is clearly not the truth :$ How many rooms do you guys see in your lobby?

Personally I don't use open online lobbies. I race with good online friends exclusively in private rooms. If everyone does likewise, there will be very few open lobbies available to you, because private lobbies are only seen by friends.

Press the Triangle button to refresh the rooms, there will be many more than 58. Sometimes if you change the settings from All to Europe/Australia other rooms will pop up that weren't there before, strange I know but it works. The easiest way to find good rooms is to add every driver you've had a good experience with to your list of friends, then see who's playing online & follow them into whatever lobby they happen to be in.

I have very little trouble finding good rooms, most of the time.

You forgot to factor in Private lobbies. That makes up quite a bit as most, if not all, people I drive with are in private lobbies.

You also have to factor in time zones, unless your on for a full 24 hours, you'll never see full results.

Not to mention the fact the game is now 3 years old... the only people who still play are enthusiasts and late adopters.

Plus a lot of the time not all the rooms will load first try, after a few refreshes you should see better results.

Ya I guess its probably the timing. Did the Europe and australia thing and it really worked ;) Still annoying that half the rooms disconnect or have network issues. Why cant PD just host all races on their own servers like Battlefield does? the experience there is far more stable :S :S
