Suzuka 600PP races really kicks! Thanks for everyone whose involved. So sad that sometime you need to go to sleep. What a waist of time. Can I take some amphetamine, or is doping unfair?

Somewhat unsatisfying racing experience last night. Only notable incident was that I encountered Sphinx in a race for the first time. After a slow start (I waited around for a car that I had accidentally bumped off the course when it slowed down "unexpectedly" at the esses), I moved up to third by the last lap, with Sphinx in the lead, only to see him shunted off by the second-placed car, ruining the prospect of a sprint to the finish.

Given that the time of the race was approximately 11.00 pm EST (making it 4.00 GMT am!), I would like to suggest that we all chip in to provide Sphinx with addiction counselling therapy...

;)

Well I never thought I'd be posting here, not given what I've been going through since my 5mb connection went for a bath. But I was doing the Pro 600pp HSR and well, I watched this guy come up on me into the first corner, waited for the inevitable ram....nothing. I raced two races like that, 6-8 drivers in each and I don't think anyone rammed anyone on purpose, no one hit me and I certainly didn't on anyone else. 👍

Hmmmmm, maybe there's hope after all. (There were no GTP people there, I think I'm relegated to the 4th ring of hell because of my provider.)

I had some great racing again last night.
Mr weary was at suzuka last night.Enjoyed the racing mate. sorry about bumping you off in one race as l keep trying new settings which tend to catch me out at times.

Yeah there was some good racing last night...as for the "bump"...settings experimenting or not, there are better places to pass than the inside of 200R 👍

mmm,sorry about that!
I do tend to make mistakes at times although l do my best to be a fair player.
See you one night mext week

200R is my favorite place to pass blockers, fake an outside pass & dive inside when they go to block, there is no way they can get back to block you!

Great racing with Vanos2990, TwistyBits & DarthDrift on Suzuka this evening. (In case you were wondering, I kept getting interrupted by "domestic emergencies", so I was late for the start of a couple of the races  )

I did get a good view of Vanos2990 snapping at DarthDrift's heels for a few laps as I struggled to catch up. Beautiful job with the NSX Vanos, but I think it's just not quite got the juice to catch the Clio. BTW, very generous of you to cede me the inside line on Turn 1 in the last race - I was just about to back off! Maybe you're accustomed to getting bumped in that situation...

What a pleasure to have some good, tight racing with GTPers after some of the crap racing I've had recently. 👍

Awesome racing with Ponchanello this morning! Nice and realtively clean. A few times Poncanello let me by, care to explain why, Ponch.? :) Fair and close racing, just the way we like it! :)

Hey mate! Was some of the best racing i've had yet. Cheers 👍
I probably let you by as i felt i tapped you unfairly. I always give a place back if it wasn't clean :)

Hehe! Several stupid occations here we waited for each other, as both felt we tapped unfairly.. :P You even got a severe panalty at one point I think, even when I hit you. :) Still, it was great fun. That 430 just outdrags the R8 so severely it's just leaves me in the dust. But I gain it right back in the Esses. :)

I also had two great races with you this afternoon atledreier! You sure can handle that R8, I was beginning to hustle the back of that Audi too when I was in the SL55, but I couldn't keep up with you on the final lap!

I hope to see you online again!

;)

Thanks alot, Aero_HDT! I remember that SL55 breathing down my neck. :) Great fun to race that clean. The R8 is great the first two laps, then on the last it just becomes a pig. If that's just the 'boost' or if the tires go or brakes or whatever, it just feels alot heavier after a few laps, especially braking for Spoon and the hairpin. I stuffed up the Spoon curve braking a few times. Put a rear on the grass on the left, and just go flying into the gravel. Luckily I haven't hit anyone yet. The great part of the R8 is the AWD, so often you can just go all rally-style and just fourwheeldrift at WOT and save it in the most hopeless situations. I had a few nice Solberg'esque interpretations of the hairpin today... :P

Had some really good races this weekend... particularly Friday night between 7pm and 8pm where there seemed to be plenty of GTP'ers in the 600 at suzuka...

And some great races against UK86 and someone else who's tag I can't remember Saturday night.

I remember raced you at least 1 time on saturday night Stotty (I was in a EVO IX tuned)... We had a tight brake battle at T1 on the second lap and even if I don't think I hit you, I waited. It seems you missed your braking point or did you thought I would rammed you (causing avoiding move from you)? I kept clean interior apex line all the curve to be sure to not hit you.
Funny thing was I worried about others cars to let them clean lines and didn't spot you immediatly in my mirror as you joined me. How did you loose at the spoon entry? Did I made surprinsing move? I don't think I braked too early and didn't expected to see your ghost going in the sand... I hope that wasn't my fault, and if so, really sorry.

Dolp... you were that other racer!!

You needn't have waited, you got alongside me fairly and I was chancing my arm a bit by braking late and seeing if you had the skill/bottle to hold the line. You did(!) so I made sure I gave you room on the inside. I did run slightly wide (outside tyres just on the dirt) but there was no contact and I managed to hold it... hence me waiting for you to get going again.

Yes, I got caught out going in to Spoon... The Audi is really slow on the straights, so I needed to make sure I was right behind you to stand any chance of drafting you along the back straight... the Audi is really quick in to and through Spoon but I didn't allow for you braking a little earlier than I needed to... only way I could avoid hitting you was to steer right and hence my trip in the sand.

Was a good race for a couple of laps though.

Haha! I remember that penalty. I was like "Huh? What the...?". All good fun :sly:
Yeah, the top-end in the F430 is pretty good. But like you say, the cornering grip and propulsion out of corners in the R8 (like the hairpin and Spoon) is awesome 👍

Also, a big shout out to AERO and OzOldTimer for some great fun racing as always :D Cheers boys!
And when we were in the R8's AERO, you were a machine! Like you said at the time, a 7min 01sec race time is pretty darn quick! 👍

Thanks, It's racing like that, that makes me fall in love with this game all over again, I've been looking for a race like that for a while. Makes everything worth it - grade A racing by the 4 of us.👍

Thx for some great races Sjaak, Timppaq, AutoAki a few others & especially HyperUK. Tried to send a msg to giles1977 or giles1997 who IMHO punted me off as I entered the last lefthander (after T2) on the last lap, but the id doesnt exist.

Oh well sooner or later I'll meet up again and msg him then. Thx for waiting Hyper although it wasnt needed.

Had some great fun chasing you when we were #1 and #2 too

AMG.

Here's the thing: I didn't want to quit the races, even though my kids were demanding my attention, because I knew that if I got out of the loop, I would be cast back into the GT online wilderness.

How great would it be to be able to choose your tracks, opponents & race times? That, & Nurburgring, we'd be all set... 👍👍👍

I really enjoyed tonight's racing. AMG always a pleasure! Probably the best race ive ever had was tonight in the 21:30 UK time race, Me and GTP_Stotty were pretty much battling it out for 3 laps solid. Great fun! My mate awd208 sat here watching, and his words were, Poetry in motion. :)

Edit AMG

Gilles1977 I think is the name, He punted you for sure. :mischievous:

I like the sound of that. 👍

Great race WeeZwee, Don't know if you are a member here but if you are, you had that type -R flying.👍👍:)

It was a very, very, very good race - very fast, very close, very clean :)

Had another really good race last night with Bul_GTRP in a silver evo... twice he drafted past me on the back straight and twice I got him back in to Casio under brakes - once on the inside and once round the outside. He drafted past me again on the start finish straight but I managed to hit a perfect line through Dunlop, got inside him and beat him in to Degner. On the last lap drafted past me again on the back straight but this time my round the outside braking move in to Casio didn't work and I slid a little wide... leaving him to take the win.

Got to find a way to make the R8 faster on the straights!

Had some fun races with dblCheese @ Fuji in the GTR only event. Very fast driver! Even pulled into the pit and still manage to win. Really good driving.

Had some awesome races with NITUSS[PT] tonight who was driving the Tuned Lancer IX. Good clean racing, very respectful and one of those guys who you can trust racing door -to- door with. I also had some interesting races with a guy named suslaw[RU] who was in a metallic grey WRX STi '05. He was a hard charger and rarely made a mistake - it's a delight to race against people who aren't all over the shop and are genuinely quick.

I also came across Iceman from the US in his legendary white F430. He got bumped about a bit by Distractions[FR] as we fought a 3-way tussle for a 600PP Suzuka win. I was leading on the last lap going into Casio, admittedly not from any skill of my own but the misfortune of Iceman and foolishly outbraked myself, which cost me victory, but handed it to a deserved winner.

I look forward to many more races with the abovementioned drivers, there were others too who I came across tonight (Sp33dfr34k?) but I can't possibly remember them all.

Great night of racing, I'm finding as time goes on there is a certain unspoken code between the majority of drivers who are making the online experience very enjoyable lately and with the upward trend, hopefully in a few more months, every race we have will be great ones.

Cheers!

Good race last night with WonderWiley and another GTPer that I can'nt remember right now. Pretty solid races on 750pp suzuka even with one punter in a gold amuse s2k (the other one not the other GTPer).

WonderWiley....what setup are you running on that Ford GT? Rarely is anyone ever near me in the S curves (not that I am that fast I just launch really well in the Evo X)
